After Boston, I took a few days off from school to accompany my dad on a business trip to New York (my professors all agreed to let me do this, since I was so far ahead in my classwork anyway– sometimes hard work pays off!).
The first stop was my favorite NYC restaurant, Gobo. The picture below is of their BEST dish (in my very humble opinion!)– ginger seitan with kale. Along with the seitan, I had brown rice and a little bit of a pumpkin ale my dad insisted I try. Sad to say, I’m still not a fan :o/.
Hangawi, an elegant Korean place, is another amazing NYC-eatery.
My dad and I split the above appetizer, then I went on to have the vermicelli Genghis Khan bowl (I didn’t get a pic of my dad’s Mushroom Medley).
I ended the meal with a hearty portion of pumpkin rice pudding (shown here with a side dish of tasty kimchee). My dad, who claimed he was too full for dessert, didn’t know what he was missing!

Okay, Gobo and Hangawi are definitely on my list of restaurants to venture to, when I’m in NYC :0)

NYC is full of awesome food. I’ve never heard of Gobo, though it’s definitely on my “check it out” list the next time I get to the big apple. 🙂

Ooh what a fun trip. I sure do love kale.
And I’m so with you on the ale. People keep saying try this beer- you’ll like it. And I never do!
