Would you like fries with that?

by Chocolate-Covered Katie on April 30, 2008

I thought I’d give a shout-out to my favorite burgers– Amy’s Bistro Burgers. The Amy’s website describes these burgers as having a “just off the grill” flavor, and I couldn’t agree more (I’m not getting paid for this review; my love of these burgers is genuine).
With a bold, juicy flavor and firm, hearty texture, the Bistro Burger is perfect for grilling, frying, microwaving, or even crumbling up into a stir fry. You need not be a vegetarian to take advantage of this burger’s delicious taste, nor to reap the benefits of its impressive nutritionals (no cholesterol and no saturated fat– take that, McDonald’s!). And the best part is that no innocent animals had to suffer in the making of these fantastic burgers.

(Note: Since Bistro Burgers are a relatively new product, they might not be available in all areas yet. If you can’t find them where you are, pick up a box of the just-as-delicious Amy’s California Burgers instead.)

So the next time you feel like a burger, make it an Amy’s Bistro Burger! This little guy will thank you for saving his life and the lives of his friends.

Please know that I am NOT trying, with my post, to put a guilt trip on all the omnivores who read this. My intent is simply to get the word out about a great-tasting vegan burger. You don’t have to go totally veg to make a difference! Even eliminating meat from some meals is good for one’s health, the animals, and the environment!

Shockingly, I’ve seen the Bistro Burgers but not the California burgers (what I’ve been searching for since some bloggers mentioned it)… thanks for the review ~ now I know they are just as yummy!

I wish they sold the bistro burgers in Canada. But I’m quite happy with the California burgers!!

Sounds really good! I’ll have to settle for homemade, because Amy’s frozen stuff isn’t available over here. But if I do ever see them, I’ll know they’re good!

Seriously, who could eat an animal ever again after seeing those adorable little eyes? Aww.

Thanks for the recommendation – I haven’t tried this veggie burger variety yet! (And yes, I would like fries with that – sweet potato fries!)

Holy crap! If I wasn’t already vegan, I would be after seeing that adorable cow face!

I don’t know if I’ve noticed those Bistro Burgers yet (I’m not a HUGE veggie burger person), but I do love Amy’s brand. Their burritos are awesome, and I also LOVE LOVE LOVE their vegan pot pies. I’ll keep an eye out for these.

Look at that cute-ass face!!! How can anybody want to murder that little baby?!!

On the burgers, I noticed those at Wild Oats last week. They were priced like $1 higher that the other Amy’s burgers for some reason, so I didn’t buy them. I’m cheap, I know. But I love the Amy’s Texas Burgers! Now that I’ve got your opinion, maybe I’ll shell out the extra buck.

Yes, I would like fries with it, thank you very much. When are you shipping? hehe ;-)
I think vegan burgers rock, and wish everybody would think the same, if only for their health (and the animals, of course, but just in case they don’t care about the animals…)

I haven’t tried either of the Amy’s burgers, so thanks for the review! I will look for them at my store.

As for your omni friends who read, they don’t have to go totally veg to make a difference! Even eliminating meat from some of their meals is good for their health, the animals, and the environment!

Awww, the face of that calf is precious!! I’ve already set the photo as my desktop background!

I haven’t see those burgers around (but haven’t been looking for frozen burgers lately)…but they look/sound really good! Next time I don’t feel like making my own vegan burgers I will grab a box of the bistro burgers for sure!

they kinda look boca burger-esque. are they similar in taste?

my stupid grocery store only has Amy’s All American burgers which are bland, flavorless chunks of crap. I’ve been looking for the California ones everywhere!!! ugh.

A few years back, my friend and I did a huge Veggie Burger Tasting BBQ and got massive donations from all sorts of veggie burger companies. Then everyone got to vote on their favorite burger. Amy’s brand was the clear winner. The top vote getter was the All-American Burger, followed closely by the California Burger. I’ll give the new Bistro Burger a try if I can find it.

If it’s called Amy’s, it’s gotta be good, right? :)

I like Amy’s California burgers best, but I haven’t tried much that I DON’T like from her line.

Hi Emma (and everyone else in the UK):
I work at Amy’s and we do have an assortment of products available in the UK. Perhaps burgers will be available sometime soon. For a complete list, click here:
