I know the energy bar post was supposed to be next, but I figured I’d finish with the stir-fry theme first. Energy Bar Post will be coming your way tomorrow… for real!
Yesterday I wrote about a stir-fry sandwich. Today I bring you The Stir-Fry Salad! This may look like a repeat of my dinner from Monday, but it’s different in one special way– because it was so hot outside, I opted to eat tonight’s stir fry straight outta the fridge; no microwave nor wok necessary.
Other Stir Fry Salad Posts:
1. Pasta-from-Mushrooms SF Salad
2. Ratatouille SF Salad
3. Healthy Vinegar SF Salad

With frozen strawberries (another attempt to combat the heat), a Bistro Burger (cut in half, as usual, so it’d cook better in the middle), and two slices of toast with a little vegan butter.
Eating it cold took my stir fry to a whole new level. Oh, and if you’ve never tried Chinese 5-Spice powder, I highly recommend it!
Energy Bars tomorrow– get excited, people! Or not…
Other stir fry salad

YAY more stir-fries! That looks really good, a stir-fry salad – genius!

Cold foods that were once hot are usually pretty yummy, huh!
I always eat at least a couple bites of my stir-fry cold! I love it…ooo and cold tofu scrambles are delish too! Especially with nooch =)
Energy Bars! I usually wouldn’t get excited
but I’m surprisingly missing the snack option. Do tell, do tell!
I love stir frys
So easy to make and take so little time.
Chinese five spice powder is definitely great. EVERYONE should try it. There’s something about star anise that just makes everything better. haha
I’m excited! I’m excited!
I think I am going to finally buy that 5 spice powder this weekend!
Yeah for stir-fry!
Lucky you–needing cold stir-fry and frozen berries to combat the heat! We’re already into sweater weather over here.
And I love Chinese 5-spice–one of my favorite flavors!
Loving your site! When’s dinner!? Seriously though, I will enjoy reading and trying out these recipes. Great stuff!

Dinner is at 6. Bring chocolate! ;o)
Thank you so much for the sweet compliment!
I adore both of your stir-fry ideas. I think putting it in a sandwich is completely novel – I certainly had never heard of it before! And I never would have thought to eat it cold, either. I like cold leftovers, so I’m sure I’d love this, too!
Can’t wait to see the energy bar post!
Love stir fry! I’m from Australia and have been reading you fab blog for a while now. I’m super excited about your cupcake post (which is coming soon I hope??) because your pieces are just little works of art. Hope everything is wonderful at your end of the world. H =)
Katie you rock the stir-fry. I went out tonight to get more veggie to make a stir-fry. I love Chinese 5 Spice too. I discovered it when I was in college 20 years ago. I use it to this day. I find it essential in many dishes I make.
I agree – 5 spice powder rocks! That dinner sounds like a yummy way to beat the heat.
I’m down with Stir Fry salad, but if you start talking about Stir Fry Pie, well, I’m gonna get a little concerned… ha ha!
chilled stir fry salad sounds so goooooooood! and frozen strawberries! sweet awesomeness! mmmmmmmmmm!
Oh, the crazy Texas heat! I’m so glad that it’s finally getting cooler in the mornings/evenings! Mmm I can’t wait to try a stir fry cold…such a smart idea!! Yay, I’m ready for the energy bar post…I went shopping for some yesterday and there are so many I haven’t tried yet! I can’t wait for reviews! :0)
I love to eat cold green beans out of a can, and when I ate spaghetti-o’s (they really need a vegan version!), I ate those cold as well!
i really need to eat more stir frys. i guess i feel that frustration that i feel with curry–all my stir frys taste the same. ever made anything with plum sauce?
Haha such original ideas =). But seriously, when you’ve got a lot of leftovers you might as well use them in different and unique ways. Like I just had a ton of leftover meatballs, and while delicious over pasta, need to be eaten as a hero too! Perhaps your next step is a stir-fry smoothie!
looks yum… an I love the idea of splitting the burger.. they are offely thick! I just love your crazy combos!

Thank you so much!
Cupcake post coming soooon! (If my teachers will just lighten up on the amount of work they’re giving me!)
Oh dear, another person reminding me of another spice I know I need to have… You are incredible with your leftover stir-fry ideas! I am just beginning to realize that making large quantities of food and freezing makes for the easiest, fastest meals during the week. Took me this long!
I’m excited about your energy bar post! Those little guys are so tempting, I can never seem to save them for emergencies.
