    Okay, so LOVE LOVE LOVE all the fondant shapes and stuff…but I really want to know how you get your icing so pretty. The colors are always amazing and it looks so creamy. Would you mind divulging your secret?

    Everyone who asked—
    There’s really no secret to the icing colors… it’s just plain old Wilton food coloring. I usually make homemade icing, using a recipe from VCTOTW (Vegan Cupcakes take over the World), but sometimes I get lazy and use Pillsbury, most of which are vegan (even—shockingly enough—the milk chocolate and cream cheese flavors!). I pipe the icing in a disposable pastry bag, and normally use a #1 icing tip.

    I’m ashamed to admit that freshman year there was ONE fridge/freezer for our entire floor, yet MY stuff pretty much took up half! Luckily, my dorm-mates didn’t seem to mind so much, because I gave them lots of tastes :o).
