Hit on at Whole Foods… and a mushroom-y meal

October 29, 2008
by Chocolate-Covered Katie

The two things don’t really have much to do with each other, except that they both happened yesterday.
In the afternoon, while on my weekly trip to Whole Foods, a guy hit on me in the bulk aisle… It was actually pretty flattering, especially since I wasn’t even wearing make-up or anything LOL. We ended up having like a 20-minute conversation, and then he asked me for my phone number. Why am I telling you this random story? Because it got me thinking: Maybe I should be looking for guys in health-food stores.  Just Kidding!  But seriously, I’d probably have a good chance of finding someone with similar interests to mine!
So everyone, go hit up your local health-food store! And remember to bring the breath mints ;) .
Edit: In later blog entries, I refer to the guy as Whole Foods Boy.
.
.
Anyways… on to the food.
Something got into my teachers (perhaps the recent cold spell here in Dallas?) because I had no homework last night! With so much extra time on my hands, I decided to be rebellious and NOT invite my friend, Mr. Microwave, to dinner. Instead, I cooked up a wonderful Fall comfort meal– mushroom stroganoff. As I’v said many times before, I’m not very good at following a recipe to a T. My creative gene gets the better of me, every time. Last night was no different; I ended up using a combination of two different stroganoff recipes fused with some of my own panache.
The result:

I ate the mushroom stroganoff over a serving of whole-wheat pasta, with some steamed bok choy on the side. It tasted just as amazing as it looks.

Mushroom porn:(Naughty!)

Look for the recipe in my next post.

Haha I’ve actually thought of that as well…..a health food store probably would be a good place to meet people.

I have to hand it to the guy…its not easy to hit on someone at the grocery store. Whenever the thought pops into my head, I am reminded of the scene from My Blue Heaven when Steve Martin walks up to lady and goes “You shouldn’t be in the frozen section, cuz you’re gonna melt all this good stuff!”

So did you give the guy your number? Was he hot? You have a good point about picking up dudes in health food stores. I always pick them up at bars and later learn they have criminal records or shady pasts….ha! Guess I’m looking in the wrong places. If I’d have been looking at Whole Foods, maybe my current man would be vegan instead of a crazy steak lover.

I think I probably get so many comments because I comment on a lot of other blogs. If ya don’t ever comment on anyone else’s blog, no one knows yours exists ;o).

I usually go to the little Whole Foods on Greenville. What about you?
