In an attempt to make my blog easier to navigate, I’m going to be adding links to the sidebar (on the right-hand side, just above my profile) over the next few weeks.
Links added so far:
1. Hello from CCV (responses to questions about my weight and diet)
2. Help for Omnivores Interested in Veganism
3. What’s with my Blog URL Anyway?
4. Running and Imagination (how running can be fun)
5. Day in the Life (sample of what I eat in a day)
6. All About Me– in Cupcake Form
7. Africards (post coming soon)
Right now, I’m working on organizing all my cupcake posts so they’ll be in one place. Stay tuned.

Chocolate-Covered Meal of the Day
It was sooooo cold the other day (16 degrees) that I needed a warm second (post workout) breakfast. On the menu:
1. Creamy oatmeal, the way my grandfather used to make it–well, sorta– with a little salt and about a teaspoon of melted vegan butter drizzled in.
2. A chocolate Jocalat bar, cut in half (to help it microwave more evenly), and microwaved ’til warm and gooey. Yumlicious
).
3. By this point, I was nice and toasty, so an ice-cold glass of my favorite ricemilk (in a fun penguin glass) capped off the meal perfectly.

That breakfast sounds like the perfect comforting meal. I love it.
Great idea for the links!

oh my gosh i have that same penguin cup!! my friend got it for my for Christmas one year cause it reminded me of when i was little and loved how there was water in the glass but not actually IN the glass haha.
The only problem is it’s so tiny cause I’m not a kid anymore! lol
You are so cute and sweet.
I just caught up on your posts and I just love your meals of the day. Love ‘em!
Good idea on the links!
I love the links – very good idea
Yum for the microwaved Jocolat too!
A warmed bar is such a great idea!
Your post reminds me of my daily struggle with my kids eating their vegies.
I usually use the catchup trick.
It seems that kids will eat anything that is covered with catchup.
I like your idea of chocolate covering but I think they -kids- will be bouncing off the walls on a diet like that.
Any other suggestions?
yum! i want your warm jocalat-oatmeal breakfast!
p.s fun links!
Hey, I’m new to the blogging world, yours was one of the first I came accross from the facebook group actually, I love your blog and the new links are a great idea

ps- i accidentally left my jocolat bar in the car and it got super-cold. and it was tasty – so i can vouch that freezing is pretty awesome too!
Holy crap! It’s colder there than it is here! What’s happening? I need some chocolate to help me deal.
Great meal!!!! Have a wonderful day!
I’m loving the simple oatmeal! So comforting.
Awesome linkage! Your life in cupcakes post will always be one of the best posts ever in the history or blogland.
How adorable and season-appropriate is your penguin glass! I love it!
Your blog is so super organized with all those fancy additions!!! You should teach us classes on blog logistics.
I love oatmeal! I haven’t ever tried oatmeal cooked like that though. I’m gonna try it!
Old fashioned oats are a great way to warm up on a cold day. Worked well and still does I’m told for all the Highlanders in the freezing cold, icy and wet Winters of Scotland.
Interesting links youare putting up.
great idea katie!!! you must know this already but your blog is totally inspirational to so many readers… keep up the good work girl!
Really excited about your upcoming links. They all sound interesting, especially Help for Omnivores & A Day in the Life. Looking forward to reading!
Your oats looked extra creamy and delicious!

Awww – I love your pengiun glass!
Love your meal of the day! What could be perfecter than a bowl of oats and a Jocalat bar! And you and your even cooking — I’ve seen you cut your veggie burger in half for the blog before too.
i love broccoli as well. i didn’t know larabar was owned by general mills either! salmonella in peanut butter? probably just another case of cooking utensils that handle meat and meat by products (milk/eggs) not being properly cleaned before handling peanut butter.
you know, ive never tried oatmeal with butter!
is it good?
Banana spice pudding sounds yummy! And I’ll have to try microwaving my Jocalot bars!
was it breakfast or dinner that hobbits had twice? yes, indeed. yay, wikipedia.
