There was more than one lobster present at the birth of Jesus?

Please tell me you know the quote… If not, go out and rent Love, Actually right now! It’s one of my favorite movies. (Hello, Colin Firth!)

Apparently, there were more than three kings present at the birth of Jesus as well:

King Henry (the eighth?), thinking he’s all high-and-mighty, wanted in on the Nativity-Scene action. Or maybe he was just looking to eat the Baby Jesus as a snack? Bad puppy! Thirty “Our Fathers” for you, Henry!

I knew the quote right away. I think I must have watched Love Actually at least once a week while I was living in Peru. Maybe it was some sort of comforts of home. Colin Firth…. never too much Colin (I Love him in Pride and Prejudice).

Simple sauteed veg and pasta is always satisfying!

  8. Katie says

Love Actually is so sweet – I saw it when I was pregnant, and got so choked up with the Liam Neeson character.
Now I have the song “Henry the VIII” in my head!

  11. Lauren says

Ooh, I think you just changed my mind about dinner. I’m going to make pasta! I have leftover brocolli, but I think that will be as good as brussel sprouts.

By the way, my pup has developed a big head from your compliment. Thanks a lot! He-he (King Henry’s probably just as full of himself as Little Girl is, so you know what I mean.)

  15. Kiki says

Henry is so adorable! How old is he? Yes, pasta is the best. Your dish looks so pretty, and I love red peppers! And the “baked” coconut date roll is a really cool idea.

I LOVE Love, Actually! My favorite scene is the one with the cue cards. It gets me every time. Oh, and when Hugh Grant sings a carol for the little girls and they do the running man dance to it! Oh, and when Collin Firth proposes to Aurelia. Ok, I’ll stop now, but I really do love that movie!

  18. VeganCowGirl says

Have a good Thursday evening Katie!

PS – We can’t put our nativity scene out since we got our dogs. They love Jesus AND Joseph…Mary too. For some reason, they weren’t fans of the Wise Men. Go figure. 🙂

poor king henry, being accused of crimes he isn’t even thinking of. he’s just moping around waiting for you to start making butternut squash treats for him.

I think you should rename your blog to the butternut vegan.
