This is the night, what a beautiful night, and they call it Bella Notte

by Chocolate-Covered Katie on February 15, 2009

Last night was amazing beyond words. The plan (or so I thought) was to go out for sushi at a local restaurant (they have brown-rice sushi—yay), then come back to my house and watch a movie (and I’d make chocolate mousse). But after the boy picked me up, I noticed we were heading in the wrong direction.

Isn’t the restaurant the other way?” I asked.
“Yeah, sorry; we have to swing by my house first because I forgot my wallet,” he answered.

Uh-oh, this wasn’t going so well… But when we arrived at his house and went inside, it was lit up with candles and soft  music was playing—turns out he had cooked me dinner!! (His older sister helped, he admitted.) We started with mix-green salads with fresh raspberries and Annie’s raspberry vinaigrette. Then we shared one big bowl of whole wheat spaghetti, à la Lady and the Tramp (he knows I love that movie). It was so sweet; I wish I had pictures to show you, but there was no way I was going to say, in the middle of a romantic evening, “Hey babe, do ya mind if I whip out my camera to photograph the food for my blog?”

Chocolate-Covered Song of the Day
First Date
(Blink 182)
Don’t make fun of me; I love listening to these guys when I run. Their songs are so peppy. And it was really cold this morning (32 degrees), therefore I needed something peppy! Other Blink 182 songs on my ipod:

  • All the Small Things
  • A New Hope

I grew up in the 90s; what do you expect?

Aww, how sweet of the boy!!! That is so cute how he picked the big bowl of spaghetti (like your favorite movie) and that he cooked it himself! =)

I LOVE Blink 182 too! Did you know they’re getting back together!?!

OOOH Blink 182 would be PERFECT music for a run! Thanks for the suggestion. I have a secret love for them also, hehe. Do you have any other tips for running in the cold? I’m not liking the cold weather very much (esp. because I’m in crew. cold water = not fun).
