Looking into the (Chocolate) Crystal Ball

by Chocolate-Covered Katie on April 2, 2009

What, no April Fool’s joke from CCV?  Honestly, I had plans to joke about throwing a Vitamix into the CCV-in-a-Box Giveaway… but I didn’t want to confuse anyone with regards to what items were really included in the giveaway and what was just a joke.  So you were all spared ;) .

IMPORTANT

To everyone who sent me an email with giveaway answers:

Everyone who sent me an email before about 9PM last night should have gotten a reply from me in which I let him/her know how many times he/she was entered in the giveaway.  But apparently some of you haven’t gotten my emails.  For this, I am really sorry!

I don’t know why, but oftentimes my emails don’t go through.  And the worst part is that I never know an email doesn’t reach its destination unless the recipient tells me!  Sooooo, if you’ve written me an email (about the giveaway or about anything else) and haven’t received a response, please know that it is not because I am ignoring you, but probably because my email is lost in cyberspace.  This goes for future emails too– I love receiving emails, so I pretty much always respond!

Now, who is ready for a long-absent CCV-recipe post? Here’s a look into the near future of this blog:

1. The debut of Whole-Foods Boy (WF Boy, have you found my blog yet?  What do you think of your blog title?  It was either that or “Red Lentil Guy,” which just sounds kinda creepy ;) )

2. An Easter-y snack recipe

3. More cupcakes!!! (And a regular cake too)

4. The Creamiest bowl of oatmeal I’ve ever eaten.  (Seriously, I didn’t even need the blended-grains’ technique!  *Gasp!*)

5. Product Reviews galore

6. Africards

7. Other recipes (No, I haven’t forgotten about the Pumpkin Pie Stir Fry)

Yikes, I’d better start writing all these posts!

Chocolate-Covered Meal Pudding of the Day

Carrot Cake Pudding!  Birthday party in my mouth!

pudd

(Hmmm, looks more like a flying saucer than a bowl of pudding)

This time, I opted to use the Amazing Agar Base, not the Possibilities-are-Endless Tofu Base.  But I’ve made it before with the tofu base, which yields just as yummy of a result.  Also in the mix: carrots (duh), vanilla extract, and a whole lotta cinnamon.

Question: If you were a pudding, what flavor would you be and why?

I think I’d be plain-jane chocolate.  So simple, yet so delicious– the “girl next door” of pudding flavors.

(Did I extend the metaphor too far?  Oops!)

Now, go enter my CCV-in-a-Box Giveaway.  PB&Co, Artisana, Jocalat, Larabar, Clif… It’s all that and a bag of chips kamut flakes

I have been wondering whether or not WF Boy knows that’s his nickname on your blog.

If I were a pudding flavor I would be peanut butter…cause I’m nutty :)

brandi April 2, 2009 at 3:57 pm

Whole Food boy debut?! FUN!

I want to see those Love Muffins and the creamiest bowl of oatmeal! You know I would make both in a heartbeat! haha

I think I would be Pumpkin Pie Pudding. Sweet with a hint of spice ;)

If I were pudding, I would be vanilla. Even though chocolate is pretty awesome, I love vanilla, because you can dress it up with all sorts of additions :D

I think I’d be a rich chocolate pudding, too…or maybe tapioca! You know what I’ve wanted to try, though, are pistachio pudding and butterscotch pudding. They both look so intriguing. I’ll have to see if there are vegan versions available.

Hooray for WF Boy! I was at Whole Foods last night, looking around the bulk food aisle where the red lentils are, and wondering if there could possible be a WF Guy out there for me. You never know!

i was wondering if WF boy knew about your blog! i can’t wait for all of the upcoming features! i didn’t get an email from you but i did get a comment saying i was entered 3 times so that is good enough for me. it will soon be 5 times because i made the chocolate chip cookie dough oatmeal this morning and it was YUM! i followed the recipe except that i didn’t blend it after cooking because i used the small instant oats and didn’t want to dirty another dish, either. i will post it in my next post!

Ooo actually yesterday I made a carrot-cake oatmeal with cream cheese frosting. It wasn’t vegan, but I’m positive you could veganize it. IT WAS SOOO GOOD! I swear… oatmeal is so versatile, and it happens to be yummy as well. Mmm mm good.

PUDDING! I’d be…chocolate peanut butter :) Or toffee!

I would be a chocolate covered coffee sundae- with a real chocolate shell- simple on the outside but sophisticated and interesting on the inside :-) What about yuo miss CCK?

Katie,

I’m glad you didn’t blog about adding a vita-mix to your box! I think I would have fell right out of my desk chair. I happen to be on a first name basis with the lovely vita-mix demonstrator at my local Costco. I can stand and watch him make all natural ice cream ALL day long. It’s like a feature presentation complete with sample refreshments. ;)

Can’t wait to read all of your new posts-especially excited to see your cupcakes! You have a gift with frosting.

I think I would be a tropical strawberry pudding. Sweet and just a little bit twisted. :D

With Love,

Emily

Whole Food boy debut….haha! Can’t wait!

I would be pistachio….because it’s really good, but out of the ordinary!

plain JANE pudding? well normally i take offense when people say plain Jane cause i never want to be plain, but if plain = chocolate, then i don’t really mind ;)

Reply

Sagan April 3, 2009 at 1:19 am

I’d be vanilla. Much as I’m a chocolate addict, I looooove vanilla pudding.

Reply

Cecilia April 3, 2009 at 2:46 am

Ooooo WF boy eh?!!! Hehehehe, can’t wait to hear more abt that! :D

As for “Creamiest bowl of oatmeal I’ve ever eaten” OMGAAA, another one?!!!! Geez CCV (CCK?!) … i thought my mornin’ bowl of oats couldn’t get any creamier!

Product review – awesome as always …. not so much for my tastebuds though – you tease them too much, n they don’t like that! ;) Hey, they are called ‘taste’buds afterall, hehe!

Reply

Erin April 3, 2009 at 2:48 am

LOL, what a fun question. I’d be dulce de leche b/c I like me a little Latin flava.

Vegetation April 3, 2009 at 3:59 am

Can’t wait for all the posts that are coming! And YUM to that pudding!

I’d probably be chocolate orange or maybe chocolate with caramel drizzled over. Mmmm caramel.

broccolihut April 3, 2009 at 5:13 am

Looks like we’ve got lots to look forward to in your next few posts!

If I were a pudding flavor, I think I would be pistachio–I’m kinda nutty and a little unique. Although I am not (artificially colored) green, I am a bit of an oddball–pistachio pudding doesn’t “blend in” with all those brown and white flavored puddings:)

Reply

ttfn300 April 3, 2009 at 11:20 am

what a tease ;-) i’d probably be banana puddin’ :)

Reply

Sarah April 3, 2009 at 3:05 pm

Yay carrot cake pudding! My birthday’s tomorrow, and it’s definitely looking like party time! I actually just finished making my birthday cake.

For pudding, I think I’d be a bittersweet chocolate-hazelnut concoction. Some can find me bitter and intolerable, but those select few that can appreciate by nuances, quirks and nuttiness (!) love me!

I did get your confirmation e-mail, though, so yay!

Elyse April 4, 2009 at 4:33 pm

If I was a soothing bowl of warm oats, I would be Banana Brulee with a dash of vibrant fresh raspberries!

Happy Vegan Lady April 5, 2009 at 1:57 pm

Nice idea! If I were a pudding, I think I’d be vanilla – it’s a classic! Although lately I’ve been craving cinnamon, so maybe I’d be a cinnamon sugar and apple pudding.

River (Wing-it Vegan) April 6, 2009 at 12:19 am

Yummy pudding! I’m with you, plain-jane chocolate.

Red Lentil Guy sounds gassy, Whole Foods Boy is way better! :D

OMG everyone! Katie is giving away a Vitamix!! :P
