Chocolate-Covered Words of the Day

It was comforting to hear that I’m not the only one who’s feeling old!  But coco’s wise words gave me a new perspective on aging:

“I’ll keep celebrating [my birthday] because it’s great to have lived one year more in the life that I have with the persons that I love”

And Sarah, my mom thanks you profusely for the compliment on the Forever Young post :)

Question for everyone:

What do you do to bring out the kid in you?

I feel like a kid whenever I watch Disney movies, run in the rain (and jump in puddles!), build sandcastles, play board games, swing at the park, etc.

Now if you’ll excuse me, this busy bee has places to go, flowers to pollinate…

Buzz buzz buzz

Ahhh I’m so excited to hear the results of the giveaway!

Oh and I LOVE DISNEY MOVIES – I’d definitely have to say that The Fox and The Hound is one of my most favored ones, either that or The Lion King, of course. Some other things that make me feel like a kid again are eating baby food- I know, I’m so weird- but I think it’s good! :P Haha! I also like the little melt-in-your-mouth cookies they make.

Love your bee picture, you’re so gorgeous!

Have a great night,
<3Meg

Ohh, I like this question.
I feel like a kid at the beach, on playgrounds (which I still love), and listening to the Disney Princess soundtrack :)

Aww, you’re the cutest bee! I am very much in touch with my inner child, it doesn’t take much to bring her out.

Good luck to everyone who participated in your giveaway!

Hmmm…I can’t really pinpoint any one thing that makes me feel like a kid. Perhaps when I’m at home goofing off with my sister. Or eating popsicles. Popsicles just seem like a kid thing to eat.

Hopefully one of those lucky people tomorrow is me ;)

I can’t wait until tomorrow to see who will be the luckiest person to win those package of your favorites!

Thanks for the shout out! New favorite type of oats.

You’re such a cute bee! To bring out the kid in me, I like puddle jumping, drinking hot cocoa, and reading The Happy Hedgehog Band. It’s the best childrens book ever!

Monkey bars, hands down.
Oh and reading my Peter Rabbit books. I loved him…

Mmm, cookie dough oatmeal sounds fabulous! What brings out the kid in me? Baking! I used to love sneaking away to lick the spatula when my mom let me bake with her. Now that I just bake for myself, I still sneak licks of the spatula when my boyfriend isn’t looking. There’s something about sneaking licks of raw batter that’s sinful, childish, and delicious!

You are too cute! Sometimes I like to sit and color or swing on a swing set at a park and jump off!

One thing I do to bring out the kid in me is to play with them!

But when there are no kids around.. I know this sounds cheesy but I just like to let loose. I don’t really let the “grown up” way of doing things get to me. If I feel like skipping instead of walking then I will.

I second the Disney movies for the ultimate in kiddie nostalgia. The Little Mermaid is my personal favourite, but Aladdin and The Lion King are great too (although I think I’ve outgrown The Lion King…gah, Timon and Pumbaa are just too annoying).

Also, playing ye olde video games gets me all teary eyed and wistful: I was obsessed with Sega Mega Drive games all through my childhood, particularly anything involving Sonic the Hedgehog ~ the new ones just aren’t the same!

Snap! I watch Disney films too – Beauty and the Beast is my favourite. A few weeks ago I was supposed to go out with some friends on my course after we’d handed in a huge assignment, but we were all so shattered that we stayed in and watched (and sang along to) Beauty and the Beast instead. I like building snowmen and hang snowballl fights when it snows (but I was always busy whenever it snowed this year and when I wasn’t, it had turned to slush). Listening to cartoons from my childhood always makes me feel young too… Poddington Peas, Penny Crayon, The Nessies, and more (don’t know if you got these in the US).

I like coco’s words too, how very true they are. And my, you do make a good bee! :) Can’t wait to hear who the winners are.

I’m so excited to find out the baby CCK! :-0
I must make those oats- are those choc. chipers in your bowl?
To feel young, I’d recomend watching kiddie shows, being immature with your friends and being in a playground on a nice day :-)

Ever since I was a wee little thing, my mum would read the Peter Rabbit books to me. And now I read them back to my mum!

I’ve gotta agree with you about the jumping in the puddles, but there are rarely puddles here…

For me, all it takes is going to the Farmer’s Market to get me all giddy! Especially when I unexpectedly happen upon a market, I get so excited it’s ridiculous. I guess it’s that suspense of what I’m going to find, what new thing I’m going to discover, and what sample fruit I’m going to gorge myself on. Ahhh, I could go on and on, but I’ll spare you.

Oh but as for old movies… I know this movie isn’t Disney, but If you haven’t seen the movie Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, from 1985, I HIGHLY recommend it! Perfect for a case of the giddies!

That picture cracked me up, and I used to love that little song. Poor little bee. It didn’t end so well for him as I recall. That will not be the case for the winner of the giveaway. :-)

I often feel like a kid, and that’s especially true when I use my jump rope in the gym. I may look all serious while I’m jumping, but in my head… “Cinderella, dressed in yella, went upstairs to kiss a fella…” Yeah. I still sing my little jumprope songs. Do kids still do that? I hope so.
