Works every time! (from Legally Blonde)
If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you’re probably sick and tired of my mentioning the blended grains trick in every post. Well, then you’re in luck, because this post is not about blended grains. After all, there are other foods, besides grains, that you can blend.
Such as… Beans! Scooping out some Amy’s Baked Beans one day, my eye caught sight of the never-far-away hand blender. And thus, a new bean dip was born.

I also created a recipe for a Black-Eyed-Pea Bean Dip:
On a separate note: A reader (hi Natalie!) asked me for more info on the Acai-sicle.
Above is a picture of the juice I used. Now if you’ll excuse me… *Ambles back into the kitchen to see what else she can blend* Muahahahaha! Nothing can escape my all-powerful hand blender! What’s your favorite food to blend?

Is there anything you won’t blend Katie? At least you have the comfort of knowing that if you ever lose all your teeth, you still have plenty of things you can eat!
I still need to try your blended grains technique. I eat tons of grains, yet I never think of blending them until after I’ve eaten most of them.

Loving the beans 🙂 what a wonderful idea! Especially for bean dip – I know what appetizer I’ll be bringing to my next family holiday get together 😉
My fave thin to blend would prooobably be some kind of yogurt and fruit to make a smoothie!

Mmmm blended beans! I’ve nearly come to the conclusion that everything is better blended. Although maybe I’d take that back if I tried blending something like pizza. ALTHOUGH blended pizza actually sounds like it just might not be half bad… am I going too far?
I had blended kamut flakes at brekkie. YUMS!

I love blending beans – especially left-overs. If we have left-over beans or lentils or whatever, I’ll often blend ’em up and use them as spreads, or add some vegan mayo and pickle and use as sammie spread or even some cumin and such for burritos. I do love the blending. “You blend, and blend, and blend” Great movie quote…

Oh shit, I just saw Legally Blonde the musical last month, and now that Bend and Snap number is in my head. Love the blended bean dip idea. You know I’m not big on super creamy foods, but you dip crunchy stuff into creamy stuff and that balances things out.

I love that movie! And smushy beans. Yum.

I recently discovered the joy of blending beans myself. The other day I blended up some black beans and pumpkin for a delicious spread. I highly recommend it!

I’m a blend o master, too. I love blending soups (even those not requiring blending). Recently I used it on some Mexican Black Beans with Peppers. They just didn’t get that starchy soupy effect. Enter stick blender and veggie stock. Bang-a-rang!

Hi,
I think I should start blending more food, too!
As you love your grains: Have you ever tried Weetabix? They make for a delicious, creamy porridge, too (especially when being prepared with hot water and a bit of coconut milk … yum!).

Hey Sina!
