I am the Burger Queen

by Chocolate-Covered Katie on June 30, 2009

Wait a sec.  Does that make me married to this guy?

 bkking2

Sorry dude, this girl’s taken.

Thought I’d give a shout-out to a new yummy veggie burger I recently discovered: Dominex Eggplant Burgers (dominexeggplant.com).

z 740

Just like the Moophrey Burgers I reviewed earlier, these babies are high in protein, vitamins, and—most importantly—taste.

z 780

They go perfectly with some Girl-Meets-Grill Veggies (best grilled veggies ever!), raw spinach, and creamy polenta.

Other CCV Veggie Burger Love:

First, I reviewed these guys, in all their mushroomy glory.  They’re still a favorite; I love the meaty mushroom flavor as well as the chewy texture imparted by the addition of brown rice.  But when I want something higher in protein, I reach for…

These burgers, which I unfortunately highlighted as part of a meal with that now-infamous Betty Spaghetti.

And now I have another new favorite.

What’s your favorite meatless burger (if you have one)?  I’ve heard very good things about those Sunshine Burgers, so they might be next to try.  One thing’s for sure: I’m never going back to cardboard Boca Burgers.  I know a lot of you like ‘em, but they’re just not my thing.

 .

Speaking of Product Reviews,

I’ve added a New Product Alert page to the blog, which I’ll try to update whenever I hear of an exciting new product on the horizon.

Check it out!

(If you’re a chocolate-lover like me, you’ll be glad you did!)

that creamy polenta looks amazing. and i don’t think i’ve never seen those dominex veggie burgers! but i am without a doubt one of those “eggplant people.” i’ll have to buy a box if i see them somewhere. my favorite veggie burger is actually a raw cashew-veggie burger that i buy at my local co-op. they don’t always have them though. so i’m always happy whenever they do!

by the way, i gave you the “one lovely blog award” in my post tonight! check it out. :)
you completely deserve it. you’re one of the absolute greatest. i love reading your posts!

I love Sunshine burgers! There aren’t really any gluten free veggie burgers (that I know of) out there besides these. I also like homemade black bean burgers. Yum!

Hmmm, I’ve never seen those before but they look good! Do they have a ‘meaty’ texture? Because I hate it when my veggie burgers remind me of meat!

My favorite burgers are either homemade bean burgers, or Amy’s. Have a great day!

I do love Sunshine burgers. You should try them, I think you’ll like them! They’re so tasty and more substantial than most I’ve tried.

I love the looks of your veggies and creamy polenta! I think you and I have a mutual affinity for all things mushy :)

In general I try to stay away from fake meat products, since they’re usually so expensive. I just tried some lightlife smart patties/mushroom burgers at my parents’ house, though, and they were pretty darn good. Not vegan, because they had egg whites in them, but they have a great texture and flavor. Another meatless “meat” that I recently tried and really really like is lentil sage field roast deli slices. I would highly recommend trying this brand (field roast) if you haven’t already.

Ooh eggplant burgers. Those sound really good. I actually like Boca burgers, but maybe I’m just weird. I guess they are kind of an acquired taste, but I don’t mind them. :-)

Those eggplant burgers look really yummy! I’m a huge fan of Amy’s bistro burgers. They’re so perfect! Firm on the outside but warm and crumbly on the inside…mmm. I love breaking them up over salads :D

my favorites are the black bean burgers (morningstar farms) and their tomato basil pizza burgers.

I can’t find a lot of other ones here ,but I really want to try the sunshine ones, too.

Dominex makes wonderful products!!!

Hm.. what is my favorite veggie burger so far? Well.. nothing beats a homemade one. I would look for something made with lentils if that’s available – I’d imagine that would taste delicious. I’ve heard that Amy’s burgers are scrumptious as well :D

p.s. mmm on polenta. I had some other night. Actually I’m going to be writing about it in my next post. Take care, girlie!

p.s.s. I appreciate the product look-out page you’re working on :) Like you, I’m always wanting to try new things.

Ok first of all there is not way I could picture you with Burger King– he’d be in the dog house within an hour of your first date after he tries to feed you a Whopper. Gross!!
Your Girl-Meets-Grill Veggies sound/look YUM, I will make these :-)

My favorite veggie burger so far is the portobella gardenburgers.

Love that taste is the most important quality ;) . Mmmm they seem sound really good. I do love sunshine burgers (veggie flavor) and morningstar’s various flavors (esp. the thai and veggie one).

Hope you have a lovely day, Katie!

The Sunshine burgers are really tasty, but my fave are the Boca Chicken Patties….I think they’re much more flavorful than the regular Boca burgers. But then again, I also like those so….also, Morningstar Farms just came out with VEGAN BBQ ribs. It’s so rare to find a Morningstar recipe that’s vegan, but these are! And they’re hella tasty.

Interesting burgers. Did you find them at Whole Foods? I usually skip the frozen aisle, but these look kinda good!
