by Chocolate-Covered Katie

Not to be outdone by Banana Brulee, Banana Butter wants its time in the spotlight.

Sure, I know that banana butter is a hit with my tastebuds.  But I had no idea, when I published the Banana Butter post, that it’d become so popular so fast with everyone else’s tastebuds.

  bbb

Maybe we should start a band.  And who better to lead this band than the daddy of all things peanut-butter-and-banana:

Elvis! (a.k.a. my running buddy)

 elvisundone

Banana Butter Band

Current Band Members:

Bloggers

And Readers

  • Andrea
  • JCD (who made the pb-banana ice-cream version)
  • Katie
  • Sarah
  • Jenna
  • Others (I’m sorry if I forgot you!!! Some days I’d forget my head if it weren’t already on my head…)

Miss Diana once again astounds me with her brilliance.

Just look what she did with her Banana Butter:

Won’t you join the Banana Butter band????

Question of the day: Have you ever been in a band?  If so, what did/do you play?  If not, what would you choose to play if you were in a band?

In elementary school, I played the violin, and I played the oboe in middle school.  The band director recommended flute… but I would hear none of that!  I wanted to be different ;) .  (I’ve also played the piano since I was six.)

i have never been in a band, BUT i played the flute for about 5 years!! that was quite the experience, first i did it because we all ‘had’ to pick an instrument in elementary school and i continued it for a bit, then I just outgrew the sweet little intrument

I DID take voice lessons for 3 years as well. my dad thinks I should audition for american Idol LOL, i do love to sing : )

I tried banana butter, and it’s heavenly. I eat it like a dessert :D
I played a piano, but not in the band :D

Banana butter and brownie pancakes… that is just too decadent for words!

I sand in a band, but rarely about anything as fantastic as those pictures…

Yeah, nana butter is delish girlfriend! Nice creation. I sometimes take a glass jar of PB that’s almost done, put some nanna in there, tbsp of almond milk, nuke for a few, and it kinda cleans out the last o the jar and it’s really good :)

Oh yes, the banana butter ice cream was an instant favourite. So quick, so yummy, and the leftovers can be thawed in the fridge and used as normal banana butter in sandwiches and what not. Fabulous! (And it’s a whopping 33C/91F today so I know what we’ll be having for dessert tonight!)

I’ll join your Banana Butter Band!

I played the clarinet in grade 10 music class. That’s it. I really wanted to play drums but it came to a draw between me and another student and he won. Now, I really enjoy playing drums in Guitar Hero: World Tour for the Wii.

Yay, thanks for the shout! You really have the most delicious creations. I was just thinking last night that I wished I had some banana butter on hand! Must be time to bring it on back. :)

This banana butter sounds delicious, I have NO clue why I haven’t made it yet. Count me in, though, I’ll be making it soon and I would love to join your band.

I have nooo musical talents. I can’t carry a tune to save my life. I took piano lessons for a few years and can still bust out fur elise and molly malone, but that is pretty much it. I took clarinet and saxophone for a while and never even learned to successfully play the scales sooo….let’s just say I listen to music and leave it at that!

  11. September 23, 2009 3:40 pm

    I’m in! LOVE BB.

I played piano and flute and violin- not well, just played! :-) Someday maybe I’ll revisit the piano, who knows!

  12. September 23, 2009 3:48 pm

I want to join the band!! Pick me! :) I really need to get with it and try out this amazing recipe…You’re a genius, Miss Katie!
If I was in a band (which I have never been apart of one before), I would play the drums! They look like so much fun…and plus I have the long hair to rock out with ;)

Hope everything is going well! Have a wonderful school week, girly!

and all this time I had visioned you in a pipe band, playing the bagpipes ;) I was never in a band, but I played the celtic harp for years and played in a “harp orchestra” (ie, a whole bunch of celtic harpists- sometimes up to 60 of us!)

  14. September 23, 2009 4:30 pm

I neeeeeeeeeeed to try Banana Butter!

P.S. I know a couple of those Dallas Stars ice cheerleaders!! how funny!

  15. September 23, 2009 4:57 pm

Haha! I love your banana butter band! I rushed off to make your banana butter when you posted about it back in August and I took a pic- I will post it to my blog one of these days! It is a big hit with me- and my dog loves it as well!

  16. September 23, 2009 5:00 pm

I played the oboe too! Now, flute and keyboards in a band :-) That banana butter sounds SO delicious . . .

  17. September 23, 2009 5:02 pm

Never been in a band :( I feel so NOT talented (especially when i see little kiddos at my school playing the violin and fiddle) AMAZING!

As for the banana butter.. Uh YUM. Can’t think of a better combo!!

  18. September 23, 2009 5:25 pm

hooray for banana butter-it’s sweeping the blog nation!

i used to play violin and flute!

have a wonderful day dear :)

  19. September 23, 2009 6:03 pm

Never in a band, but my two brothers have more than made up for me in that department. And of course they both play(ed) drums, translation- band “practice” is always at my house! Although I did play piano for about 8 years, quitting before high school. I’ve since started playing again and am so grateful for all those lessons my parents *forced* me to go to.

I’m salivating over your banana creations! I plan to hop on the band once our banana tree we just planted in the backyard starts producing. Three cheers for local bananas!

i’m in a band right now actually hehe :D I play the keyboard mostly, but sometimes I mess around on the drums because I’ve have percussionist tendencies on the keyboard lol. That sounds like I bang up the keyboard ahaha.

Ohhh man – that Elvis picture is hilarious. The KING!!! He’s glowing!

  21. September 23, 2009 7:55 pm

I’ve never been in a band, but I love music. Have you ever heard the Art Brut song “Formed a Band?” It’s really funny.

  22. September 23, 2009 8:01 pm

I played the flute in 4th grade band for about 2 weeks. I could not get it to make noise and gave up. Stuck with piano for 3 years though.

I so want to join the Banana Butter band. Soon, very soon. :)

  23. September 23, 2009 8:14 pm

Banana butter first, world domination second ;) Just shows what a fantastic idea it is!

Never been in a band as I was told by a teacher when I was seven that I had no musical talent or ability and never would have. I think ‘hopeless’ was her assessment. Two years ago, I taught myself to play the electric keyboard and am currently learning how to play piano…badly lol. If I was in a band I’d play guitar, no question…I love rock and metal so it’s just natural for me. Sadly, I did have a go at playing guitar and was abysmal at it!

Looks super tasty. I need to try this sometime soon. I am wondering why we used to always have bananas around but now we don’t. They never seem to look good at the commissary.

  25. September 23, 2009 10:54 pm

Hell Yes! I’m part of the band :D :D

  26. September 24, 2009 2:30 am

you can’t come up with a delicious peanut butter combination and expect not to be popular!!

    thanks for the mention <3

  27. September 24, 2009 3:27 am

Thanks for letting me in the band!

  28. September 24, 2009 3:32 am

Haha, us vegan Virgos must think alike!

I played the viola for a summer – wanted to be different – and then switched over to the oboe, because again, I wanted to do something different from all the regular old flutists and clarinet players! :)

I played all through high school and then gave it up….. do you think you could still play?

  29. September 24, 2009 3:34 am

Banana butter deserves just as much glory as banana brulee!
I was in the band in 5th and 6th grade, playing the flute (gasp!), and I played the piano for about 5 years too. I joined the choir in 7th grade…and I became a total choir nerd for a good 6 years.

  30. September 24, 2009 4:35 am

I want banana butter in mah belly right now! Just found your blog, Katie. I really like it!

I played the piano for a year when I was 6 and the flute for one semester in junior high school. I then realized I just wanted to sing. From first grade to senior year of high school, I sang in vocal competitions, at church and for weddings and funerals. I haven’t had time to do much with my vocals since I moved to Ohio. I am definitly not singing at near the level that I was 4 years ago!

  32. September 24, 2009 5:49 am

I would totally play the drums. I’m the drummer in our Rockband bands ;) And I must say, I’m pretty good for a fake drummer. I think I could pick it up on real drums, as it’s somewhat similar. I got the beat ;)

  33. September 24, 2009 6:05 am

i always wanted to play the oboe!! i played the flute and piano :) I still wish I could play a bit.. oooh well.
I would join your banana band.. but, (dont hate me) i cant stand bananas.
    how about an apple band?
    or pineapple?

  34. September 24, 2009 6:38 am

Mmm, yum! As soon as I get a food processor, I will definitely be trying banana butter. Such a vunderbar collaboration.

  35. September 24, 2009 10:54 am

I really need to make some banana butter! Maybe after this stressful week is done! :-)

I’ve played the clarinet for about 13 years. This fall is the first time I haven’t auditioned or played in an ensemble (except for one quarter last year). It feels really weird, and I miss it a lot. If I had more time, I’d try to audition for something here, but the internship takes up a ton of my time.

  36. September 24, 2009 11:42 am

I still haven’t tried that. Must add pb to mygrocery list!

  37. September 24, 2009 11:58 am

    Must try this!! Sounds fantastic!
