Eat your Black-Eyed Peas

by Chocolate-Covered Katie on January 1, 2010

And no, I do not mean the group.  I don’t endorse cannibalism, no matter what it says at the bottom of this post.

(So don’t let the raw gingerbread men tell you otherwise.)

I did, however, listen to the Black-Eyed Peas during my run this morning. ;)

.

.

Black-eyed peas (the food, not the group) are considered to bring good luck in the New Year.  So eat up.

Happy 2010!

Happy New Year!

I love the song ‘Boom Boom Pow’…my mom keeps saying it’s nothing but just noise, xD

I only tried black eye peas once in China…it was in a Beans Shaved Ice cream! Red beans, black eye peas, etc.

I hope 2010 will bring you lots of happiness! You deserve it sooo much :)

Happy New Year, Katie darling! No cannibals here, I’m glad to say, but sadly I didn’t have any black-eyed peas in stock so I had to resort to mushroom ‘steak’ pie!! Happy 2010!

I have the Black Eyed Peas on my running playlist, too. Although their NYE performances were very…interesting. What was up with all those crazy costumes everyone wore this year?!

Happy New Year! We’re planning to fix our black eyed peas for dinner tonight! AND we’ll eat the last of our pumpkin tamales with them for good measure. Hope you rang in the new year right!

Happy New Year to you too, my dear! I didn’t eat Black Eyed Peas, but I suppose if I listen to a song by the group, it evens everything out? Hope so… :-)

Happy New Year Katie! Right after reading this post I went downstairs to find my southern-born dad had made a huge pot of veganized Hoppin’ John which was incredibly sweet of him considering he is a well known lover of bacon, sausage, or any meat in between. Here’s to ringing in another year with legume-based luck!

I could go for the black eyed peas. In this area (southcentral PA), it’s pork & sauerkraut for good luck.
