Moving on to Movie Talk

I completely forgot—in my post yesterday—to thank you all profusely for the movie recommendations you gave me. I now have a mile-long list of new movies to watch.

blind-side

(If anyone else needs a movie recommendation, click here and read the comments!)

Last night, I watched one of the movies many of you recommended: The Blind Side. I’d been planning to see anyway, because I’d heard it was amazing, and because Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses.  Finally, a movie that lived up to the hype: this was terrific! :)

Easter Recipe Round-Up, Installment 2

Here are a few more Easter-y recipes, because there were too many to fit in one post, yesterday:

Luscious Lemon Cloud Pie

Crustless Lazy-Girl Quiche

And Mexican Wedding Cookies

Question of the Day:

Who’s your favorite actress?  I think I might just have to go with Sandra Bullock.  Five reasons: Miss Congeniality, A Time to Kill, The Proposal, While you were Sleeping, The Blind Side (All About Steve, not so much). But Julia Roberts is right up there too.

For the other question of the day, see the New Vita-Mix Giveaway post. :)

That lemon cloud pie looks delish! I can never choose favorite actresses/actors. I really like Julia Roberts too, I love SJP but in every role she just reminds me of Carrie from SATC! Love Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston … see! I just can’t choose!

What is nutritional yeast? I’ve never seen it in the UK – do you know if its called the same thing here? Do you think I would probably only be able to get it in a specialist health food shop. What would be a substitute?

I want to make your recipes!!!!!

Lemon pie…YUM!!!
I love Sandra Bullock too! The Proposal is seriously one of the funniest movies on the face of this earth! In fact, I may have to watch that soon…
Rachel McAdams is my favorite actress. Have you seen The Time Traveler’s Wife? I cried like a baby.

Fave actress — Chloe Sevigny. And the Blind Side was great! A little trivia for you though — even though the true story was set in Memphis, none of the film was shot here. Tennessee is lacking in good incentives for filmmakers, so we rarely get movies to come here, even when they’re set here. Walk the Line, the Johnny Cash movie from a few years ago, was filmed here though, right down the road from where I work … but I never ran into Joaquin Phoenix. :-(

I’m so bad at choosing my favourite actress… an actor would be no problem at all. Bruce Willis! no competition ;) hmm.. I wonder how many times have I already mentioned him in your blog? :D

I think some of my favourite actresses are Katherine Heigl, Meryl Streep (The Bridges of Madison County!!!) :)

Katie April 1, 2010 at 6:06 pm

Oh my gosh, wasn’t Blind Side just THE BEST movie?? I also love Sandra, but I think Julia Roberts is my favorite. Unless we can count people who are dead, and in that case, it would be Audrey Hepburn.

I love Sandra Bullock as well – how could you not? She’s so cute. I also really like Kate Winslett and Cate Blanchett. 2 of my favs!

Oh, and I totally clicked on your giveaway. Happy April 1st Katie. :)

I do like Sandra Bullock – but I think my favorite actress would have to be Kate Hudson. The dress she wears in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is so gorgeous – I dream about wearing it haha!

Jo, in Australia, nutritional yeast is called “savoury yeast” so it might be called that in the UK too?

Favourite actresses – hands down Natalie Portman, Zooey Deschanel and Cate Blanchett.

Justine April 2, 2010 at 12:46 am

Audrey Tautou is a favourite! Coco Avant Chanel, Amelie, God is Great and I am Not, etc…

But the other Audrey (Hepburn) is another all time favourite as well!

Ooooh lemon pie sounds really tasty right about now…

Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, and Natalie Portman are a few of my favourite actresses, although I also admire the work of many other talented women as well, past and present(Bette Davis and Ingrid Bergman, for example). I’ve never been a Sandra Bullock or Julia Roberts fan, though.

All your food looks great! I don’t really have a favorite actress…I’ve always Kirsten Dunst, Meryl Streep, and Tilda Swinton.
