Easter Morning Mayhem

by Chocolate-Covered Katie on April 6, 2010

How was everyone’s Easter Sunday?

Are you coming out of your chocolate coma yet?? :)

(Thanks, aimee, for alerting me to the fact that even non-Christians can celebrate Easter)

.

Chocolate-Covered Easter, Part 1:

Into the depths of the Easter Basket… and a Chocolate-Covered brekkie

d

Not much has changed in two years.

I’m still in front of the fireplace, and I’m still wearing pink.

Funny, ‘cause I’m usually a blue or green girl.

.

Something else that hasn’t changed:

I still get an Easter basket!  Hey, I’m not the only one.  Many of my friends still get them too.

Yes, we might be a little old for this… but do you hear me complaining?  Nope, didn’t think so ;) .

Easter-Basket Yumminess:

Coconut Butter, blood orange, stickers, Itunes card, box of chocolate-mint Wild Bars, and sleep mask

…Oh, and a cute koosh critter my mom found in a box of old toys.

Does anyone else remember those things?  Little sister and I had so many!

.

Chocolate-Covered Brekkie, post-run:

A certain purple guest wanted to join me for my feast.  I let him watch, but he wasn’t allowed any food.  Poor guy.

easter1

Juicy organic strawberries (deal of the year: $2.99 for a huge box!!), raw pistachios, & Extra-Creamy breakfast pudding

And a close-up:

easter

Sniff sniff.  Those pistachios look mighty tasty.

I wonder if Katie would notice if I took a bite of her creamy Bulgur Pudding

.

Question of the Day:

What was the highlight of your Easter (or your weekend)?

One of my highlights was that it was actually warm this Easter!  Easters past have seen me change into fleece pj pants right after church!

I loved that it was warm here this Easter, too! And it was gorgeous – no rain or clouds!

Jealous of your Easter Basket! Once I had my baby, first grandchild on both sides, she started getting all the goodies! I can’t complain though cause she’s awful cute.

I love pistachio’s but haven’t had them for so long! Those strawberries look lovely, too! :-) The Highlight of my Easter weekend was meeting my uncle’s “new” girlfriend – they’ve been dating for 18 months and the family just met her! She’s lovely, and I’m so happy for him!

You look so pretty!! :)

I still get an Easter basket too, but instead of jelly beans, now I get things like cliff bars, kitchen towels, and oranges. And it still makes me equally as happy and excited!! :)

Hahaha oh the koosh guy is too cute! I had Koosh balls, but never the critters. I guess I was too old by the time they came out? :(

What a nice Easter! And great Eater basket too.

We drove (10 hours each way!) to visit my husband’s grandmother for the weekend. She made us lots of Polish foods like perogies, borscht, cabbage rolls, etc. We had a little Easter egg hunt (with vegan chocolate eggs), and went to the cutest and prettiest little church. It was warm and sunny too. A great weekend!

Awesome Easter basket! I didn’t get one this year, but hubby gave me some dark chocolate “eggs” and bunny ears from a local chocolatier. I never say no to chocolate! :)

I still received an Easter basket until I had kids, no joke! Now I’m the one handing out the basket.
Oops, I mean “helping the Easter bunny” make the baskets ;) .

Yum yum! That bunny is smart. I’d want some of that yumminess too :) . I love salted pistachios, but don’t think I’ve ever had plain. They look so green!

You look stunning in your pink Easter dress. I still get an Easter basket too, only this year my gifts were in the refrigerator at my parents’ house instead of in a basket. They ordered me a variety of vegan cheeses (lots of Daiya!) and some m0re Soy Curls.

Bianca- Vegan Crunk April 6, 2010 at 4:05 pm

Oh, and I meant to tell ya … I emailed Artisana and asked for samples and how I could get the products into my Whole Foods! They’re sending me samples to review on my blog. Yea!

Let me know when your mom comes across the troll dolls (because everyone knows that where there is a koosh, a troll cannot be far away!).

Ah, toys of the ’90′s…

It was warm here in Nashville as well, and usually it’s pretty cold on Easter. So, it was a lovely day, and the highlight was hanging out with Polly! :)

So tried to get CD to carry on my family’s Easter basket tradition, but he didn’t really get it. I used to put a bakset together for him and hide it, but I gave up this year. Sad. :(

Highlight of my weekend=getting free hot cross buns at a local bakery!
