New Vegan Greek Yogurts

A few days ago, I received the following surprise in the mail:

so delicious coconut milk greek yogurt

So Delicious Greek Yogurts

To my knowledge, these are the first non-dairy Greek yogurts on the market. (And actually, I’m not even sure the So Delicious Greek yogurts are available in stores just yet.) The vegan Greek yogurts—all of which contain probiotics–come in chocolate, vanilla, plain, blueberry, strawberry, and raspberry, and they are:

  • soy and gluten-free
  • 130 to 140 calories each
  • low in sugar, and high in fiber, calcium, Vitamin B12, etc.

Obviously, I tried the chocolate first. They are delicious! The yogurts’ thick, smooth texture reminds me of custard, and the taste is just slightly less tangy than regular yogurt. (To those of you who dislike coconut: I didn’t really detect any coconutty aftertaste.)

Ah, the long awaited vegan Greek yogurt. They are actually carrying these already at whole foods. If your local store isn’t yet carrying them, talk to a grocery team member about getting them into the store. I picked up the plain and the blueberry the other day, and without knowing what to expect (never had the dairy version) was pleasantly surprised. So thick and creamy!

Good choice on keeping your relationship private!

    I “like” you on Facebook.

  2. Jill says

Thanks for the offer for yogurt! I live in the middle of nowhere and they would NEVER carry something like this at our grocery store, so it would be great to get to try some from you! I always have to go to “the city” for healthy things like this! I get your emails and like you on FB!

  3. Amy Wilson says

I already follow you on twitter and had just tweeted about this.

I follow you on FB (as you know as I am the one who keeps bugging you about your posts not coming through. Happily I am seeing them now but I suspect that is because you are manually doing them and not via Networked Blogs.) Anyway, so excited about this giveaway!

    • Chocolate-Covered Katie says

You are not bugging me at all! I am SO grateful that you let me know about the problem… I am doing them manually, but I’m not sure even that is working anymore. Even I don’t see them today (or yesterday!). I’m getting so frustrated :(.

      • Anonymous says

The manual posts are showing up on my wall, so that is good! Odd that they are not on yours too, but at least they are being seen by the general public as far as I can tell.

  12. Jena Malia says

How exciting! I can’t have any dairy since I’m nursing my daughter that has a severe dairy allergy, but I miss yogurt! And I so want her to be getting all those great pro-biotics. I was so excited to find this Coconut milk yogurt in Sprouts (I don’t know if they are outside Arizona) and also Almond milk yogurt!! I haven’t tried them yet, it’s taking all my will power to save it for my lunch today, but I’m so excited, and I’m so glad you are getting the word out!!

  13. Valorie says

Sorry, I can’t figure out how to delete my last comment…I didn’t see that it posted so I wrote it again and now it’s there twice. Please delete this comment and my last so that I only have three total entries, I’m not trying to cheat, promise! 🙂

  29. jayna says

  30. Deborah Mathis says

  31. Rebecca Wright says

I follow you on Facebook, shared a link to this blog giveaway, ‘liked’ your giveaway post, & follow by email 🙂

  32. Alexa says

I followed you on twitter, and retreated 🙂 And I already get your emails. One of my main obstacles before going vegan (I was previously vegetarian for 7 years, been vegan about 5 months) was my deep love for greek yogurt. Obviously since then I’ve gotten over it and opened myself up to a whole new world of foods with Veganism, and love it. But Vegan greek yogurt changes everything, SO EXCITED! Although I did previously try the so delicious coconut yogurt..(it wasn’t this kind though) and the texture was a bit off for me. But I love coconut, so if it has a thicker texture like you describe I am down! Also has anyone won the previous chocolate giveaway yet?? And also SO EXCITED FOR COOKIES TOMMOROWWW!!!!!!!! I LOVE all your cookie recipes and can’t wait to try something new!

  33. Rebecca says

Wait, do comments not count as an entry? I seem to remember comments were one of the many ways we could get an “entry” into your giveaways. Hope this is still so!

Anyways, these make me super excited as well. I am not a big coconut fan so I am glad you didn’t detect too much “coconut-y-ness” (ha ha). I have a feeling there may be sugar/sweetener of some form in them though (even the plain), is this correct? I like to buy plain yogurt and add my own sweetener but find that many non-diary yogurts contain sweeteners already–ick. Glad these are soy-free though!

I tried the amande (almond milk) yogurts even though they had sweetener in them..but was sadly disappointed. They have a slightly weird taste (to me anyways!)

  34. Amber K says

    My nieces/nephews would love these!

I wish I could try them, but they probably have xanthan gum in them. Seems like the only non-dairy yogurts I’ve seen do, which is why I’m still on regular dairy yogurt still. Come on someone make a dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free yogurt without xanthan or guar gum! 🙂

  35. Moni'sMeals says

hey girl, you know I follow you on it all. 🙂

I too would feel akward about the date, but good to hear about a second!

  36. Mallory Mullen says

    YAY!

  59. Jessasaurus says

I just discovered your blog last night and these yogurts in the store today. From what I can tell, they appear to be corn-free as well, which is a real find for folks with wheat-egg-nut-dairy-corn allergies. nice!

  60. BD Malone says

Did you know that Larabars contributes hundreds of thousands of dollars in order to fight labeling GMO labeling. They’re not as health conscious as they’d like us to think.

  61. Apple says

Before we went dairy-free, I used to use plain greek yogurt in lieu of sour cream. Does this plain yogurt taste like it, too? Can it be used in recipes to replace sour cream?
