New Cappuccino Larabars (giveaway)

Oh my chocolate stars.

Yesterday was my blog’s busiest day ever.

I guess everyone really liked the Homemade Nutella!

A large portion of the visits are apparently coming from facebook and twitter, which must mean people are sharing my page with friends—I’m so incredibly grateful to everyone who’s ever shared my page! Without your amazing continued support, Chocolate-Covered Katie would not exist. Thank you!!

To show my thanks…

cappuccino larabar

A few weeks ago, these bars showed up on my doorstep:

The new Larabar flavor: Cappuccino.

To be honest, I still like their chocolate flavors best! (Chocolate Jocalats and Cookie Dough Larabars are my favorites.) So I thought I’d pay it forward with these coffee-flavored bars, offering the uneaten ones up in a giveaway: I’ll send a bar to each of two winners.

This giveaway is now closed.

Congrats to:

Natalie

Although I love both kinds of recipes, I would say that I’m currently in a total breakfast funk, so some new ideas would definitely be appreciated!

  2. Cathleen says

How about a savory breakfast? There always seems to be sweet, and I suppose that savory breakfast is just totally against a dessert blog, but I like breaky suppers! Please satisfy my poorly timed breakfast cravings!

  3. Lori Z. says

I’ve been looking for these and haven’t found them anywhere around me yet!
I’d rather a breakfast recipe – looking for new ideas for my kids.

  4. Lucy says

Breakfast 🙂 Oh and i showed my non-healthified friend your nuttela recipie (She loves that stuff, like no other) and she said she would give it a try so we are making it today!

  5. Brittany *Sparkles* says

Umm.. BOTH! Dessert for breakfast! lol I would love to see a healthier version of a pastry-like dough or a pastry 🙂

Mmm I’m a coffee fiend so cappuccino sounds delish 🙂

And the nutella post was amazing! first thing I did yesterday was forward it on!

  6. Mindy @ Clueless Nut says

I love all of your recipes and have tried a few, and I would love to see a breakfast recipe on tomorrow’s post.

The ingredients for the homemade Nutella is on my grocery list. My mama eats Nutella every morning, so I’d love to make a healthier version.

  7. Erin says

I would love to see another breakfast post! I’m always looking for a healthy and seemingly sinful way to start my day 😉

  8. Louice says

I already like you on Facebook (Louice Johansson)! As for what I would rather like, I have to say a breakfast recipe! My breakfasts would be so bland if it wasn’t for you, so I would love some more to spice up my breakfasts. 🙂

  9. Kelly says

I need a breakfast recipe…bought steel-cut oats for the first time and I am not sure what to do with them to make them delicious 🙂

  10. Jesse (OutToLunchCreations) says

I would like to see a breakfast recipe that can be prepared the night before or made in under 5min in the morning. I would also love to see a savory chocolate dish. I have seen savory dark chocolate entrees on TV but I have never tried or made one.

  11. Kara says

I love your blog! Thanks for all the yummy recipes! I vote for breakfast, I had your Pumpkin Boatmeal this morning – yummm!

  12. KT says

I want to see a delicious BREAKFAST recipe! I’ve become an opener at my job (Starbucks, opening at 5am) and breakfast is slowly but surely becoming my favorite meal of the day. It’s definitely a plus to becoming a morning person!
    -KT

  13. Kira says

I’d love to see a breakfast recipe, breakfast is my favourite meal of the day 🙂
And would go nicely with the idea of cappuccino flavoured larabars! Yum!

  14. Aisatsana says

Breakfast. …and thanks so much for writing your blog. My fiance and I eat vegan as fast for our church for about a third of every year, and so many of your recipes have been life savers! We especially enjoy the lentil curry you posted here a while back.

    • Claire says

Hey, that’s a really cool idea. I’d never thought of that before. But then again, I don’t know how much of a sacrifice it would be for me to go vegan, since I love veggies so much. Maybe sugar-free (Sweets in general) or something would be a better fast for me!

  15. Claire says

Breakfast recipe! And for the record, I pinned your nutella post yesterday, and got like 6 repins in 10 minutes! I guess people really did like it!

  16. Kasia Dutch says

Hmmmm, dessert or breakfast? Dessert or breakfast?

    How about… Dessertfast? Or Breaksert?

Yes, I like the sound of that. Breakfast and decadent dessert rolled into one.

  17. Anonymous says

Dessert!!!! Thanks for all your wonderful receipes Katie. I’m not even a vegan, but i love visiting your blog. My favourite receipe is the ‘1 minute chocolate cake’!!!!!

  18. Stephanie B. says

Of course I love your breakfast recipes, but I tend to be more adventurous with dessert recipes, so I’d like to see a dessert recipe tomorrow!

  19. Ann-Marie says

Dessert! Thank you for your wonderful receipes Katie. I’m not even a vegan, but i love visiting your blog. My favourite receipe is the ‘1 minute chocolate cake’!!!!!

  20. Jenn says

It’s so hard not to say dessert because your desserts are always amazing, but I’m curious to see what ideas you have for breakfast. So I’d have to say I’d like to see a breakfast recipe post tomorrow.

  21. Jana Lee says

    Hi Katie!
Please post a breakfast recipe! I’m a new vegan as often struggle with breakfast food!! I get bored easy! Thanks!!
    -Jana

  22. Susie says

Ooh, breakfast post, please! Never can have too many breakfast recipes, considering I could eat breakfast for every meal ^_^

  23. Heleen says

Mhmm, I pretty much enjoy ANYTHING coffee-flavoured so these can’t be bad! Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, I could eat breakfast all day long (kind of like you with chocolate, I imagine?), so I vote for a breakfast recipe tomorrow!

  24. Molly says

Oh how I adore Cappuccino LaraBars!

Since breakfast and dessert are my two favorite things, this is a tough decision! But I think in the end, a breakfast recipe would be quite nice 🙂

  25. Ashleigh says

Normally I would vote for a dessert, but I really am feeling that a breakfast post would be good. Maybe one with chocolate? Now I’ve got to find those cappuccino larabars somewhere around here. I just stocked up on other flavors as the natural food store had a .99 sale! And the jocalots were 1.07! What a great deal. I think I got 20 larabars!

  26. Megan says

I am hitting up Whole Foods ASAP to get my hands on that Lara Bar! I am up for a breakfast recipe tomorrow because I love breakfast!

  27. chocolate girl's chocolate mom says

Thanks for the yummy nutella yesterday.

I appreciate your dairy free recipe’s. My daughter has enjoyed many of your recipe’s and I am thankful she found you so we can have options for her to eat yummy things!

  30. Angela says

I had a Coconut Cream Pie Larabar yesterday (YUM!) I just got introduced to Larabars this past fall so I’d be excited to try another flavor 😀 Thanks for all of your yummy posts by the way (tried out cookie dough dip–with dark chocolate PB dreams–it was excellent!)

  31. Jess says

Mm…. well, dang. You just named my two favorite meals <3.

Why not a 2-in-1? It's more fun making a breakfast that's fun and a little indulgent. Plus you seem to have a knack for making things both healthy and sweet (where I'm sorely lacking) c:

  32. Victor says

Breakfast recipe please! While I do like my morning chocolate oatmeal, it would be nice with some variation to that. 🙂

  33. Lena says

One of the main reasons why I look forward to the weekends is because I finally have time to make and indulge in a special breakfast (usually pancakes since they are my favorite :D) so I’m going to go with breakfast! 🙂

  34. Mariah says

Breakfast! I’ve tried making a bunch of your desserts (and they are AMAZING!), but I haven’t tried a breakfast recipe yet!

  35. Annie Semlak says

I would like a breakfast recipe 🙂 I am always looking for new ways to make breakfast in my dorm before classes 🙂

  36. Mushroomz says

BREAKFAST! I do love my oats but a little change wouldn’t hurt (and if it’s an oatmeal recipe- I’ll have another flavor/idea to try!)

  37. Eri says

I would love to see a new dessert recipe! Also, I am excited to say this is my first-ever post! I thought it was only fitting because I just finished eating a Peanut Butter Cookie Larabar (delicious!!!) and I can only imagine what the cappuccino ones taste like…

  38. Eri says

I would love to see a dessert recipe! Also, I am excited to say this is my first-ever post! I thought it was only fitting because I just finished eating a Peanut Butter Cookie Larabar (delicious!!!) and I can only imagine what the cappuccino ones taste like…

  39. Lauren says

Breakfast please! Even before I started eating a vegan diet my breakfasts were boring, so I’d really like a fresh idea!

  40. Janice says

I would love to see a new breakfast recipe!! This morning i tried the melted banana trick with my oatmeal and blended them in my magic bullet- plus a handful of spinach to give it a fun green color!- and it was DELICIOUS. Of course after i transferred it in a bowl, i put a spoonful of peanutbutter and microwaved it.. HEAVEN!!! Oh, and im following you in twitter and facebook!

  41. Shelby says

Cappuccino’s are my favorite and I can’t wait to try to Larabar flavor! I vote that you post a breakfast recipe next because it is the best meal of the day!

  42. Briana says

I tried my first choc cov.katie recipe last night: fudge babies. I liked them, had them for breakfast, too. Only one of my 3 kids ate and enjoyed it, however. I may try the cookie dough next.
    I’d love more dessert recipes.
And, thanks for the give away.

  43. Sam says

I’m going to vote for dessert because you can never have too many dessert recipes! Plus I’m going to be making one for family soon, so it might give me ideas. 🙂

  44. Whitney says

Breakfast please! I LOVE your blog and all of your yummy recipes. My kids look forward to seeing which one I’m going to try next. Thank you for making the transition to eating healthier so easy on myself and my kids!

    • Maria : ) says

ahh! i didn’t see the first post go through. so disregard the double comment about FACEBOOK and substitute it for my comment about TWEETING this info. thanks for your understanding : )

  45. Emily says

I’ve never tried anything but the original Larabar; I’d love to try some others! Cookie dough sounds delicious, but I wouldn’t mind a Cappacino. 🙂
Also, I love both breakfast and dessert, but since I’m always in need of new breakfast ideas, breakfast it is!

  46. natalie @ southern fit foodie says

Those look awesome! The cookie dough lara bars are my favorite, too! I would love a new breakfast recipe!

  47. 91% Chocolate Lover says

I vote breakfast! I picked up some shredded coconut and will try making coconut butter soon, to me coconut butter is breakfast-y.

  48. Gabby says

Umm I make your “desert” recipes for breakfast all the time! So I guess a real “breakfast” recipe would be nice 🙂

  49. abeer says

ummmmm…. DESSERT!!! lol what a silly question to ask!! no but really both recipes would probably end up amazing so whats the difference?? 🙂

  50. Irina @ ChocolaTeaTime says

Breakfast all the way! It’s my favorite meal and I would always appreciate a new recipe to try out

  51. Lynh says

Breakfast please! I love making my breakfasts more interesting – and if it’s sweet, it makes me feel slightly better about having “dessert” for breakfast!

  52. Jade C says

Hmmm, I would have to say.. breakfast, please!! On that subject, I SO wish I had taken a picture of this mornings breakfast!! It was: Rooibos-infused oatmeal topped with a T each of your cookie-dough dip and peanut butter, with a side of frozen berries…. IT WAS SO GOOD!! Unfortunately I cannot repeat the process tomorrow morning as when I came home I ate the rest of the dip alongside chunks of banana – really nice :).
Soooo, basically, what I’m saying is this: as it’s your fault my breakfast was so amazing this morning ((and the things that made it have now also been “destroyed”, please show me something as good that I can eat for my brekkie tomorrow :D!!
    Congrats on the Betta-Than-Nutella!!
    Jade C.

  53. Ashley says

I tried one of these the other day and yum!
I’d love to see a dessert as I’m obsessed with your dessert recipes lol

  54. ~Jessica~ says

Breakfast recipe please! I made the GF breakfast pizza at the week-end and it was divine, so I’d love to see something that could match it in the brekkie department 😀

    xxx

  55. kalah says

i vote for breakfast. i am currently obsessed with the coconut drops in oatmeal with cacao nibs. would love to see what else you have up your sleeve!

  56. Mel Gibb says

Wow 472 comments already!! I shared some of your recipes yesterday on pinterest. It is another form of social media – I am relatively new to it but you “pin” things like a recipe to a board and then others see what you have pinned and come along and re-pin it to their wall and it links back to your blog. It is quite addictive if you have not seen it – it is worth a look, Thanks for some healthy sweet treats. Mel

  57. Catalina Maya says

    Breakfast, please! 😀
I’m sick of getting hungry at 10:30 every morning at school–and then having to wait two hours to eat! So, a voluminous or hearty breakfast would really be appreciated!

  58. Catalina Maya says

Oops–I typed the wrong email… but I’ll just copy my previous comment:

    Breakfast, please! 😀

  59. Mary says

    Those look absolutely wonderful! 🙂
And Dessert! Unless it is a dessert-like breakfast you had in mind. Which I’m thinking there is a good chance of this 😉

  60. Raven says

I am so excited to try the new larabar flavor. It sounds amazing. So hopefully I will win so I can experience it sooner.

I would love to see a new breakfast recipe! I’ve been looking for some new ideas lately.

  61. Stephanie says

As much as I love your creative breakfast foods, dessert is always better! My breakfast is pretty much the same everyday (peanut butter on a rye crackers) because I really can’t think enough to make anything else in the morning, but I like to have a different dessert(s) everyday.

  62. Aly says

Hey Katie!! I think you are a dessert genius!!! But I’d love to see something for breakfast. I really try to watch the sugar intake, too. I know. CRAAAAZY!

  63. Elizabeth says

Breakfast, please! I’ve been making your larabars, but using toasted almonds & coconut, with melted unsweetened chocolate instead of cocoa powder. Can’t. Stop. Eating. Them.

  70. Natalya says

I just started reading your blog today, and while I’d love to win some Lara bars, I just had to write because all your recipes look so amazing and I have two in the fridge right now as we speak! Just to make sure I qualify if you do pick my comment… I’d like to see a breakfast recipe! Thanks 🙂

  73. mrsluckypants says

My vote is breakfast. In fact I came to your site to search for a breakfast cookie to make for tomorrow morning.

  74. Tricia says

I really liked that you made homemade Nutella! I totally miss Nutella, but I need to get a food processor first. I honestly don’t care if its a breakfast recipe or a desert recipe because I typically interchange the two. (Cookies for breakfast are the bomb!) But if I had to choose… I’d definately say a desert recipe 🙂

  75. Erica @ For the Sake of Cake says

I’ve been dying to try these Larabars!

I also follow you on twitter and like your facebook page.

  100. Heather M. says

Breakfast, please! I can’t get enough of your boatmeal & oatmeal recipes, but should probably change it up now and then with another breakfast idea!

  101. Rebecca says

I am in love with your website! And I am telling everyone I can find! I am a new vegan and am so excited to have one place that I know everyone is OK! I have your cookies from today’s post in my oven as we speak. If the dough is any indication, they will be awesome! ( I subbed to soy nut butter-son with allergy, and honey for sweetness). Oh no, I hope I didn’t miss this! ((My internet was down yesterday 🙁 ))

Maybe a breakfast that tastes like a sinful dessert? 😉

  107. Jaymie Miller says

I have to admit… I’ve made these twice now. I used almond butter and banana, threw in a handful of dried cherry’s and some dark chocolate chips, and sweetened it with a squirt of agave. OMG To DIE For! My DH <3'ed them, and we ate all the first batch, so I woke up early and made them again for my Kiddo's this morning! Keep them coming! I love yummy healthy foods!

  108. CaraMarie says
