Want to take a Chocolate Quiz?

Don’t worry; it’s not graded!

chocolates

The above is a compilation of all the chocolate various relatives and friends sent me for Christmas.

They know me so well Smile.

I haven’t tried the face mask yet, but the strawberry-chocolate tea is really fun. (Apparently, it comes in a red velvet flavor, too.) And the Endangered Species chocolate-peppermint crunch bars are delicious! Why on earth had I never bought them before?

I bet they would be incredible in my Magic Chocolate Pie.

‘Cause the only thing better than chocolate is mint-chocolate. (Ok, and raspberry-chocolate, and coconut-chocolate, and coffee-chocolate, and… I’d better stop now, or I could go on forever.)

chocoholic

Are you a chocoholic?

Below, I’ve created a quiz for you.

You know you’re a chocoholic if…

  • Your top 3 favorite desserts are chocolate pie, chocolate fudge, and chocolate brownies.
  • You’ve contemplated adding cocoa powder to your peppermint toothpaste.
  • You walk into Bath and Body Works just to smell the chocolate candles.
  • You have at least ten different types of chocolate bars in your pantry… and none of them lasts very long!
  • You’ve thought about naming a future child “Godiva.”
  • You accidentally drop a piece of chocolate on the ground and then eat it anyway.
  • Your idea of a balanced diet is holding a chocolate bar in each hand.
  • Your friends hide their chocolate whenever you come over.
  • You believe chocolate is a perfectly acceptable breakfast food.
  • You have a special chocolate recipe tab…

Here’s mine: Chocolate Recipes.

Warning!

Do not click the above link unless you are a true chocoholic! Winking smile

Nah, I’m not a chocoholic. I do enjoy chocolate, and of course go overboard on occasion. But I never typically crave it.

I would consider myself more of a coffiholic. Or a pumpkinholic.

  2. Ali @ Peaches and Football says

    National Chocolate Day! LOVE!!

Chocoholic? Maybe “sugarholic” is more accurate cause while I love some chocolate, I love most desserts that contain sugar. Oh yum, yum, yum

Never have I turned down a dessert offering that contained chocolate though. 🙂

  3. Kate@cookingwitharthur says

I’m def a chocoholic – normally eat a square of choc before my porridge (oatmeal). I especially like the really dark 90% kind. Is it possible to be a PB and chocoholic though – balanced for me is choc in right hand and PB in left (mouth open expectantly in middle).

Can’t believe today is National Chocolate Cake Day, whatever next?! Don’t think we have one in the UK, but we do have National Sandwich Day…

  4. Jade C says

Haha, gotta love this post :), aww Katie, thanks for letting us all know!!
I guess I’ll just have to go and make those mocha cakes you posted the other day..:P..

  5. Nicole K. says

I find it ironic that national chocolate day just so happens to be my birthday 😉

I’m glad that I decided to drizzle an obnoxious amount of Chocolate on my breakfast this morning!

  6. Ginger says

Because of this post, I just logged on to the Republic of Tea website and ordered Strawberry Chocolate Red Tea, Coconut Cocoa Tea, Double Dark Chocolate Mate, and Red Velvet Chocolate Herbal Tea. They should give you a cut. Even with the $19 shipping charge to Canada… I am PUMPED.

  7. Tia @ Veggies and Pearls says

I do love chocolate, but by your standards I don’t think I’m a chocoholic. I am definitely a peppermint tea-aholic, an oatmealaholic, and a PBaholic! But in honor of National Chocolate Cake day, I definitely will have to make a one-minute chocolate cake!

  8. Eva says

Haha this post is hilarious!! Mmm… does hiding my chocolate flavored peanut butter from my friend (who’s visiting) count? Or does that mean that I’m a pb-aholic?? 😉

  9. West Coast Chocolate Guy says

    You forgot a couple.

You have a worn out copy of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (original version)
More Ovaltine Please. Need I say more.
Making it up to the cashier with ONLY a wrapper to pay for !!!

BTW – can you tell me what NIBS are ?

  10. Karla says

I’ve never considered myself a chocoholic because I don’t like things that are JUST chocolate – like death by chocolate. Cakewise, I prefer chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, or yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Ice cream-wise, I like vanilla-based with chocolate stuff inside and on top. I guess I prefer it in combinations – like peanut butter and chocolate, orange and chocolate, etc.

I didn’t like plain chocolate… till I fell in love with the dark stuff (milk chocolate just doesn’t compare!). Now, I’ll eat dark chocolate chips straight from the bag or mixed in with just about everything. And more often than not, the desserts – and breakfasts! – I make end up containing dark chocolate. 🙂 That’s fine by me, though, because the darker the chocolate the healthier it is.

Ever since I heard about that red velvet tea I’ve wanted to try it.

  11. kaila@ healthy helper blog! says

The chocolate candles at Bath and Body Works are my FAVORITE! They smell good enough to eat! I stock up every year during the holidays so I have enough to last me for the year! 🙂

  12. Moni'sMeals says

Totally a chocoholic and I see nothing wrong with it. Plus you are our support system over here at CCK! hehe.

Bless you for these recipes and Happy NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CAKE DAY! Who comes up with these things???

    🙂

  13. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says

Happy National Chocolate Day. I had hot chocolate already this morning so celebrations are well underway for me.

  14. Mea Cupla says

Oh, heavens yes: I am a chocoholic, indeed!
In fact, when I was a wee lass, my mum would try to feed me peas by covering them in chocolate. I was clever, though, and sucked the chocolate coating off each one and spat the peas themselves out!

  15. Abby says

It’s National Chocolate Cake day??? No wonder I’m craving chocolate!

I found your blog through Pinterest and I think it’s awesome! Keep it up! =)

  16. Erin says

I’ve tried the red velvet version of the tea and even though I LOVE red velvet cake and tea in general, I hated it 🙁 It was rooibos-based though, and I don’t like rooibos tea, so that was probably the reason.

  17. Alex @ Raw Recovery says

Definitely a chocoholic over here! Best chocolate soufflé ever (in my opinion) is made at the restaurant Roy’s. It’s unbelievable.

  18. Hannah says

Um, look at the title of my blog 😉

And 10 bars? Darling, I honestly never have less than 30 unique chocolate bars stashed around my house. I actually think it may be closer to 50 right now; I’m very behind on reviewing!

  19. Miranda says

I just discovered your blog via Pinterest, and I’m so excited, as I’m a chocaholic who loves to bake. I was looking at some of the recipes and not even bothering to click many of the links, because my son is allergic to eggs, so most cake or cookie recipes are out for us. Imagine my excitement when I discovered that they are all vegan, therefor egg-free!

  20. Marcee says

Does anyone (else) get migraines from all these (different types of) chocolates?

When craving a bit of dark chocolate, I must be really careful not to consume too much. Maybe have a piece after a nice lunch.

Chocolate-covered thin mints are my worst enemy. BIG head pain. Ugh. (I love them though!)

Zero chocolate of any kind after 2:00 p.m. For sure, I will start having a you-know-what. Boohoo.

    Headaches are never any fun.

  21. Sondra says

Lets see, top 3 favorite deserts? Chocolate chip cookies, chocolate mousse and pure chocolate bars….never added coco powder to my toothpaste… don’t have too! Chocolate Ice Cream toothpaste:

http://www.childrite.com/ChocolateBling.html (try NOT brushing your teeth 3 times a day.) 😀

And no I don’t have ten types of chocolate…they’re all gone now….but last pay day I had boughten a bag each of chocolate chips from Guittard’s, Ghiradelli, and L&M fleet supply (suprisingly vegan!). I also have a can of Special Dark Coco, and Can of regular coco, a bag of dark chocolate ginger candies, a bag of carob (chocolate’s hippie cousin), a bag of Chocolate Chia Energy Nuggets from the food co-op, and a block of choclate almond bark all at once. My fiance took one look at the groceries and shook his head…. that’s only nine though, so I guess no C.A. meetings for me!

(BTW Katie, made your Cacao bliss the other day (made with special dark)- added in about 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, 1/8 of cayenne, and about 4 drops of orange extract… it was amazing! Even better in bar form)

      • Sondra says

Do you remember those old anti-smoking commercials they had on about 3 years ago that asked “What’s your plan to quit?” (or something like that) In one of those the guy had hooked up a charge to his cigarette pack so every time he touched he he got a nasty shock… that’s how….:D

  22. Rachel says

Ohhh yes Chocolate for breakfast needs to happen all the time! lol! I love this post btw!

PS- your hair always looks so shiny. It’s gorgeous!!! Must be from all the chocolate 😉

  23. natalie @ southern fit foodie says

I am quite the chocoholic…I have eaten SO MUCH of it this week (and not the healthiest kinds…). Today I think I’m going to make your cookie dough dip or brownie batter dip, and I can’t wait!

  24. Ruby says

Woah that chocolate looks so yum!
And Katie, you look so gorgeous! Be vain and keep posting photos, your such an inspiration
with your healthy diet and beautiful skin and glossy hair!

  25. MeLissa says

Chocoholic? Um, yes…so much so, it’s my job to share it with others! I’ve been really enjoying the recipes you share and can’t wait to try them with my products….especially that nutella recipe. I just need to finish up the jars in the pantry first. 🙂

  26. Sandra says

chocoholic becoming a chocolate snob. I’ve quit milk chocolate in favor of dark chocolate – gotta have some to make it through the afternoon. Also, Godiva liquor is a pretty good touch in hot cocoa.

  27. Cat says

YES!! I am currently taking a non-credit class called… For the Love of Chocolate, courtesy of my employers. I work at a coffee shop and now once a week I get paid to go play with making chocolate! It’s great! Now if only I could convince the chef to make vegan eclairs…

  28. Jessica says

I love the Red Velvet Tea! You will want some kind of milk in it though – that brings out the cream cheese frosting taste. I use 2 bags to get the full experience. The coconut chocolate is also really good, although more chocolate than coconut (can you tell I’m obsessed with dessert teas?)

  29. Lisa says

hahah while I cant say Im a huge chocoholic, I do enjoy it every now and then 🙂
which Im sure is fine with you right….more chocolate for you! 😛

  30. Laura Stark says

Yes, I’m a chocoholic. It’s the only vice I’ll say out loud, but most people who know me, know about my chocolate addiction. And like you, I think mint chocolate IS TO DIE FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love your site, Katie!! Wish I’d gotten to the ‘Chocolate Covered’ name before you, and you are definitely, permanently posted on my tool bar with your logo!!! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy, chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!

  31. Karen says

Just made your candy bar pie filling – tastes good – can’t wait for it to get chilled. It’s hard to believe that it is tofu – thanks for a new yummy dessert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  32. Libby says

I have LOVED your blog! I’ve made multiple recipes of yours for my chocolate loving Dad – who is on a low(basically no) cholestrol diet.
I’m curious if you’ve ever made chocolate fondue? I’d love to try a fondue recipe for my Dad on Valentines Day! Just a thought 🙂

  33. MichelleH says

hahaha How about ‘you want to get a chocolate lab just so you can name her Godiva and say you have a chocolate lab’? Because who wouldn’t want a chocolate laboratory? To concoct more chocolate creations, of course. mwahaha

  34. Monica Erskine says

Answer to your question? A big fat YES!

An addition to your list: You know you’re a chocoholic if…you’re holding chocolate bars in your Twitter avatar (see @ChocCoveredKt)! 😉

Love the post and adore the pics of you in the chocolate aisle!

  35. Rebecca Stedman says

    Katie,

Thanks for the swweeet inspiration! I took your Dark Chocolate Brownie Batter Dip and added a twist… poured it over a Wild Rice Organic Rice Cake and added a sprinkling of dark chocolate chips. The result? I call it “Dark Chocolate Brownie Crunch” and boy, is it yummy!!!
