30 Healthy Valentine’s Day Desserts

Valentine’s Day:

My plans will probably sound pretty boring this year. We’re staying home, and S is in charge of dinner (scary thought). I’m supposed to make dessert but haven’t yet figured out what to make. It won’t be chocolate mousse or chocolate mousse pie, as I still can’t convince S to try tofu!

Since I run a chocolate-covered blog, pretty much all of the recipes would be perfect Valentine’s Day desserts. (Okay maybe not my recipe for roasted brussels sprouts. Try serving those to your sweetheart as part of a romantic dessert and see what kind of look he gives you. Have a camera ready.)

Question of the Day:

What are your plans for Valentine’s Day?

Although I don’t believe love should be expressed only one day a year, I totally buy into the idea of a holiday that revolves around chocolate. Long live Valentine’s Day!

  1. Each and every one of these look absolutley amazing! My mister is a sucker for anything chocolate chocolate chocolate, so any of these look awesome!

  2. Tenley says:

I’m currently single so I’m planning on making the chocolate fudge brownies just for myself! Maybe if I feel nice I’ll share some with my roommate and her boyfriend but that’s it! 😉

I’m not a huge Valentine’s Day fan but I love the 15th when all the chocolate is on sale!

I hope you have a lovely Valentine’s Day!

  3. Michelle says:

    This all looks so yummy!

  4. I’ve got my eye on that chocolate mousse pie and the Greek yogurt cheesecake. I’ll probably be celebrating Valentine’s Day with my family. We’ll have a nice dinner and exchange cards/gifts. And, of course, there will be chocolate. 😉

  5. You should just leave out something made with tofu (like chocolate mousse) without telling “S” and maybe he’ll eat it and like it without realize there’s tofu! Haha

  6. We always have Greek yogurt in our house and my hubby loves cheesecake- I’ll have to try it! Could you swap flavored Greek yogurt, like strawberry, into the recipe?

  7. I love recipe round ups! Good thing it’s almost lunch time, because I’m so so so hungry now (eyes are on you, strawberry shortcake pancakes– why arent you in my lunch box!)

  8. These all look SO good!!! I think S should make you a dessert for a change. It’d be interesting to see what he would come up with 😉
I have no plans for Valentine’s Day. As I cook pretty much every day of the week, I’d love to be treated to a meal for a change. We’ll see what M pulls out the bag 😉

  9. Sunnie says:

Hmm, I think my family and I will just be doing what we always do – have a quiet Valentines and just exchange a couple little gifts. I’m sure there will be chocolate (I sure bought some to give to them!). My mom or I might make the vegan chocolate cake (from an old DeliciousLiving Magazine that my mom has) that’s made with tofu . . . it’s absolutely, insanely good. The frosting’s made out of silken tofu and melted chocolate, but it literally tastes like fluffy mousse. *SWOON*

  10. M. Lillian says:

My hubby is returning from a missions trip on V Day. I have a ramonatic dinner and dessert planned, but I’m thinking a romatic breakfast might be fun, too! 🙂

  11. Sarah Fit says:

Was just sharing your Valentine’s Day recipe last night in an Udi’s gluten free twitter chat and used this link I think not knowing you included one of my recipes it in 🙂 haha!

  12. Hannah says:

    Ooh! Yum!

My plans are: take a long van ride to our new temporary home, which happens to be a church parking lot, and have a Valentine’s party with post-it note valentines and your double chocolate brownie cookies. 🙂

  13. Andie says:

Yummmyy! Chocolate will definitely be on my menu for sure, and the deep dish pan is a big family favorite! I’m currently a single lady (but hey, I’m only 16, I got time! lol) so I’ll be with my family to exchange cards and things. It sounds like you’re going to have a lovely romantic valentine’s day, Katie!

  14. Oh my gosh these all look so good. I can’t believe I’ve given up chocolate for Lent :(. Going to dream about making all these once Lent’s over! xxx

    Yum, all these look great!
I need to try out those chocolate fudge brownies, they look so decadent! Who says single ladies can’t celebrate with tons of gooey brownies;)
