No Bake Oreo Cookie Pie

A luxuriously smooth Oreo pie that tastes like cookies and cream cheesecake and is totally vegan!
Total Time 10 minutes
Yield 12 - 16 slices
5 from 1 vote

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw cashews or macadamia nuts (for nut free, try this Vegan Cheesecake)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • sweetener of choice (see below)
  • 12 Oreos or homemade Healthy Vegan Oreos

Instructions

  • Sweetener options: 6 tbsp pure maple syrup or agave, or 1 cup pitted dates, or stevia or erythritol equal in sweetness to 6 tbsp sugar.
Prepare a pie crust of choice (recommendations are listed earlier in this post, OR finely crush 20 Oreo-style cookies, stir with 4 tbsp oil or butter, and press into a pie pan). In a bowl, cover the cashews with water and let sit at least 8 hours. Drain and pat completely dry. Combine the drained cashews with the salt, vanilla, sweetener, and 1 1/2 cup water, and blend until smooth. Blend a full minute if you have a Vitamix. This can technically be done in a regular blender or food processor if you blend a very long time; it just might not be as smooth. Add the chocolate cookies and blend again, just enough to crush the cookies. Pour into the crust, and freeze to set. This healthy and vegan pie is best kept in the refrigerator. Or you can freeze it, but be sure to thaw fully before serving.

The cookies are definitely included in the nutrition facts. (I plugged it in with regular Oreo cookies.) But the crust will depend on which recipe you use, either homemade or store-bought.

  1. LisaR @ Who Stole My Baby? says

I don’t have any trouble being quiet in real life, but when I write, I can relate to what you wrote. I definitely delete whole paragraphs that have nothing to do with anything, because it takes me a while to warm up and figure out my point 🙂

  2. Shawna says

No I’m pretty quiet…. In regards to your question…. Is there a trick to obtains the nuts needed without breaking the bank….

    • Maureen says

I bought cashew pieces. They sell them at Trader Joes (I am not sure where you live) but they are cheaper because they are just broken up cashews. Worked well too!

  3. Katie says

This looks delicious and so easy to prepare, can’t wait to try it! Do you make your own chocolate drizzle to pour on top of the pie slices or is it store-bought?

    • Maggie says

Newman’s Own: organic unbleached wheat flour, organic sugar, powdered sugar, organic palm fruit oil, canola oil (expeller pressed), organic cocoa, cocoa (processed with alkali, organic unsweetened chocolate, natural flavor, salt, sodium bicarbonate, soy lecithin)

Oreos: sugar, enriched flour, high oleic canola oil and/or palm oil and/or canola oil and/or soybean oil, cocoa (processed with alkali, high fructose corn syrup, leavening (baking soda and/or calcium phosphate), cornstarch, salt, soy lecithin, vanillin

Aside from Newman’s being labelled “organic” (not USDA certified) they contain essentially the same ingredients. The nutritional breakdown is almost identical. Not a huge deal. When someone comes out with Oreo-filling-in-a-tube, I’m sold.

  4. Karen says

this looks really good! I am quiet around some people and loud around others and when I write I always write a lot. It’s weird I am a really big chatter box when I write but not so much in real life. Maybe it’s because there is nothing to be shy about when you write

  5. Lisa says

This is dreamy…I loved oreos as a kid, well not the oreos…just the filling. actually.
Hm, I think it depends who I’m around I can be SO loud when I’m around people I know and am friends with but otherwise I’m a bit shy at first. I’ve actually had random people tell me how loud my voice is…yikes.

  6. Danielle says

This looks so yummy! I can’t have regular Nabisco Oreos because I get very ill from them, but I can have the Newman’s Os. I want try your recipe for healthy Oreos! Thanks, Katie.

  7. Christina says

This looks AMAZING, Katie! I think I’m going to make it on Sunday as a gift for my parents for their anniversary. One question, I was thinking of taking the dates option for a sweetner…does that effect the texture of the finished product? And I am quite the chatterbox, especially when I’m nervous. Random nerdy facts tend to tumble out of my mouth to fill awkward silences, which generally just leaves people thinking I’m a tad strange.

  8. Christina says

This looks AMAZING! I tried to comment before, but its not showing up so I’m going to try again. 😉 I wanted to make this on Sunday as a present for my parent’s anniversary. I am planning to try it with dates for the sweetner…will that change the texture of the finished product? Thanks!

  9. Alex @ Cookie Dough Katzen says

This looks incredible! Oreo filling is the best. And to speak on being a chatterbox- I am definitely one myself. Editing papers is the worst! I’ve since learned to think before typing (although I usually fail when I’m commenting lol) and slow my roll. I prefer clear concise writing but it’s so much harder! Have a great weekend Katie!

  10. Smileyboo says

Oh dear goodness, I am suuuuuch a chatterbox. But my friends tell me it is appreciated for the fact that there is never an awkward silence. I think they curse me just the same though because I just can’t shush up 😉

  11. Katy @ Katy's Kitchen says

So easy, I love it! I think I would definitely make it with your healthy oreos, too. I know what you mean about blog posts, mine always start super long and then I go nuts on the delete button. Sometimes I have to do that with comments too! LOL

  12. Amy says

I’m an introvert and don’t talk much in person, but I turn into a real chatterbox when I’m typing on the computer! It took me a while, but I finally figured out a way to prevent myself from writing entire novels for blog posts: I write them by hand! Something about pen and paper helps me keep things short and sweet.

Your oreo cookie pie looks so decadent! Especially with all of that chocolate syrup… Yum!!

  13. The Vegan Cookie Fairy says

If only oreos were vegan in the UK :'( for some reason they put in whey powder in them, which means I can’t have them!

    • Alethea says

Hey, just FYI – the recipe over in the UK has changed, most places stock the vegan version now 😀 just check the back of the box to make sure it is not old whey-infused stock 😉 …happy times!!!!

  14. Bella Smith says

Hi Katie! I love your recipies! Especially the chocolate ones! The only problem I have, is that when I use normal cocoa power it always tastes like dark chocolate (I don’t really have a taste for dark chocolate). Is there any way to make them milk chocolate without adding any junk ingredients?

  15. Jaime says

My fiance hates nuts….but is 100% willing to let me attempt this!

Do you think a food processor would be a good substitute for a blender?

  16. Shannon says

You have got to stop rocking my world with these recipes!!! Only seriously, please don’t. I’ve been in love with your oreo pancakes so I’m looking forward to giving this oreo lovin’ recipe a whorl.

  17. Kathy says

I have a tendency to chat and chat and I know a great deal of it is because I am what they call a “void filler”. The minute I think anyone is uncomfortable, I speak up so that the discomfort isn’t there.

But…you can chat all you want my dear as long as you come up with yummy looking things like this pie!

  18. anthea says

I would love to try this! But I cant find most of the ingredients at the supermarket for the oreo’s so can I just buy them instead? Would it make the Oreo Cookie Pie really unhealthy if I did that? :/

    • Julianna says

In her recipe, she includes only 4-6 normal oreos, so I don’t think that’s all unhealthy considering it’s the whole pie and not just a single slice.

  19. jodye @ chocolate and chou fleur says

I really only ate Oreos for the filling – I usually just threw the cookies away. This sounds AMAZING! I was going to have oatmeal for breakfast but maybe I’ll just make this insead!

  20. Jessica says

I just recently stumbled upon your blog, and I’m pretty sure you are an angel sent from heaven. All of these recipes without an ounce of guilt for someone who LOVES sweets, but is a health nut and HATES the “weigh-down”/gross effect of processed food? Thank you. You have made my entire life complete.

  21. Jackie says

    Hi Katie!

This looks soooo good! But I have a quick question.
I’m 13 with a nut allergy that my parents say I’ll “grow out of” (been hearing that for the past 8 years -_-) and I was wondering could the cashews be substituted?
    Thanks a million!
(Ps I love your blog! So cool!)

  22. Yessenia says

Hi Katie! Do you think you could do me a favor? Today at dance, a friend (S) brought another friend chocolate cupcakes with Oreo frosting for her birthday. My mom and sisters loved them and my mom wants S to make them for my sisters 4th birthday on June 18th. But I want to make them for her, do you think you can make a sugar-free reciepe preferably without xylitol? If you can, can you do it soon so we can make sure she likes them? Please and Thank you! Happy early Mother’s Day to the mother of chocolate!

  23. Courtney says

I’m not a vegan, and have never had a positive tofu experience, so I was super excited to see that this just uses nuts! It looks delicious. Can’t wait to try it!

  24. Leslie says

I made this and it was a HUGE hit! 🙂
Everyone raved about it, and there wasn’t any leftover.

I was wondering, is there a way to send you pictures?

  25. Matt says

The oreo cookie on it’s own is enough… then you go and share this? How can i resist? Thanks for this great recipe.

  26. kwejkba says

I’d LOVE to make this for my boyfriend, he’s crazy about oreos and chocolate 😛
    a few questions:
How long would I need to freeze this in the freezer?
And if I use the amounts described for the crust (i.e. I do not double the recipe) how big must the dish be for the pie to fit, please?

    • Nadia says

I made this yesterday and froze it Overnight. I actually left it in for about 20 hours simply because I was out of town today. It was amazing; tasted similarly to ice cream cake/pie. Try it!! 🙂

  27. Amira says

Katie, you are a GENIUS! I made this yesterday for a party, and everyone devoured it and people were asking for the recipe. I told them that they needed to check out your blog. Two of them had actually already heard of your blog :).

    Great recipe!

  28. Karen says

This looks outrageously delish! Your blog posts always make me hungry.

I’m a speech-language pathologist who works with kids, so it does my heart good to see any chatterbox :-). Having good verbal skills is wonderful. Even if you have to tone it down a little, it’s nice to have that choice.

  29. Christina says

I made this today and it turned out perfectly. I used dates to sweeten, and poured it into your chocolate pie crust made with almonds and hemp seeds instead of coconut. I also made some chocolate sauce and drizzled it over the top in a crosshatch pattern with a quartered Oreo in the middle to make it even prettier. Thanks Katie! Cheers!

  30. Kelly says

Instead of Oreos, I like WhoNu Chocolate Sandwich Cookies. The don’t have HFCS and they have few extra nutrients too!

  31. Vicky says

How do you make your chocolate sauce? I can’t seem to find it anywhere on your website. Or is it just melted chocolate?

  32. Nadia says

I made this today for my birthday and froze it (why not?). It was AMAZING. Seriously, Katie. Best Oreo pie (or any pie in general) I’ve ever had! My whole family was astonished by the sheer deliciousness emanating from this glorious pie.
    Thank you!

  33. Nik says

This looks fantastic, can’t wait to make one myself. I’m usually pretty quiet unless someone gets me on a topic I’m passionate about. Health, animals, the environment…

  34. Kristin says

Yes! I can talk and talk and talk! It depends on who I am talking to too. Sometimes my husband just tells me that enough is enough and he needs to go to sleep because I won’t stop talking to him 🙂

  35. Nagareboshi says

Mmm, that looks delicious and I must try it!
I can be both a chatterbox or an extremely quiet person a times. ^__^ It just depends on my mood.

  36. themagicviolinist says

WOW that pie looks INCREDIBLE!!!! I’m going to have to try that out ASAP! 😀

Yes, I find myself to be a chatterbox more so when I’m with my friends talking about everything under the sun. Online I can be a chatterbox if I’m talking about something that gets me fired up (whether I agree with it or strongly disagree with it) or something that interests me especially.

  37. Anonymous says

Oreos are not vegan considering there is animal fat in the cream filling, just saying. Besides that, this looks lovely.

  38. RC says

sweetner of choice… ???? which one did you actually use???? Do you think using different ones will effect the taste??

  39. Belle says

Made this the other day and my family loved it. My brother alone ate 4 slices. Haha.
I just wished my pie came out as pretty as yours, though.

Anyway, thank you for the wonderful recipe.

p.s: I’m the type who speaks only when I have something to say. If I have nothing to say, then I’m darn quiet. But if I have something to say, I can talk all day long.

  40. Michelle says

I made this with the coconut crust and put chocolate sauce on top. It was good but would have been a lot better with Oreos. My daughter and I just went gf and they were my favorite but I didn’t buy them much because they would disappear too fast. Thanks for all the great recipes!

  41. Lauren says

I just made this and am so excited for it to set in the freezer!! I am strictly off all sweeteners (except plain, dried fruit) so your website has been somewhat of a godsend. I blended this most of the way in my food processor, but switched to my magic bullet in the last few minutes and it came out VELVETY smooth. I also decided to add sugarless powdered peanut butter and cocoa instead of the cookies, just to make sure its totally sugarless!

  42. tammy says

hi we made this today, it was quite good. I found it quite good, my son gave it a 5 of 10. I think if I had a more powerful blender it would have made the sauce creamier. Could you use almond spread

  43. Cookies n' Creme says

THIS RECIPE IS AWESOME!!!!! And I got away with using almonds (blanched) instead of the cashew’s. I had to soak them A LOT longer, though, like 24 hours. It turned out great!

  44. Lily says

I just bought a Vitamix! (don’t worry it wasn’t JUST for this recipe haha). I’m actually not a fan of pie crusts. Could I just skip the crust or would it fall apart?

  45. Monica says

I made this cake yesterday with the Chocolate Pie Crust and it was amazing! Thank you so much for all these amazing recipes!

  46. Katharine Waldrip says

Yes, I am quite familiar with that list. I’ve been researching food and food science for roughly 2 decades. There is a difference between being officially “owned” by Monsanto and being a part of their GMO empire. Don’t believe everything YOU read, either. Nabisco is not GMO free.

  47. fatima says

Is there something I can use as a substitute for the nuts? I’m allergic to nuts BUT I REALLY REALLY want to try this recipe out. Any suggestions?

  48. Rubab says

I just made this and it is setting in the freezer! Amazing but I think I blended the oreos in for too long:( how long do u leave the pie in the freezer? Thankyou x

  49. Cristine says

    Oatmeal is BAD for everyone!
It ruins your teeth – NO amount of brushing, flossing, rinsing, etc. can remove the acidic film that oatmeal deposits on your teeth.
ALL the hype about oatmeal’s heart healthiness and cholesterol-lowering properties are lies fed to us, the unsuspecting public, to buy their products.
Might you check out thediabetessummit.com, thedigestivesummit.com, etc. ???For your health and for those of us who like your recipes? Thank you. Cristine.

  50. Lily Kung says

I used to be anorexic and this was my absolute favorite site… Now I’m recovered, and I still love it! Is there anything that we could use to substitute for the nuts? Cause of allerfies.

  51. Brooke says

Hey Katie — your recipe for this is much different on your Instagram page. I was wondering which one you recommend over the other? Thanks!

  52. Cat says

OK, this is seriously fantastic. The amazing Katie strikes again!!! Made this with your homemade Oreo dough as the crust, and it turned out *fabulous*! Literally the most delicious dessert I’ve tasted all year.

  53. Andrea says

I want to try it ! but im missing Macadamia nuts and cashew nuts here where I live….. :c, but I found cashew milk 😀 , Can I substitute the nuts and the 3/4 cups of water for 3/4 cups of cashew milk??

    Thanks Katie <3

  54. Tina Myles says

Yummyyyyy. I love all recipes associated with Oreo and since I also love pie, I’m sure this Oreo cookie pie will become my favorite desert. Thanks for sharing this, Katie 🙂

  55. Audrey Schlegel says

I have an idea for the crust: I will make the crust out of the biscuits for your Orea cookies! It will add even more Oreo flavor, won’t it? Have anyone ever tried this before?
