Nutella Brownie Batter Dip

Nutella Brownie Batter Dip: https://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2014/08/01/nutella-brownie-batter-dip/

Continuing on with our Nutella Recipe Week.

The following recipe is completely amazing! It tastes pretty much like you’ve just stirred a heaping spoonful of Nutella into a batch of gooey and unbaked brownies. Who could resist something like that? Except maybe people who don’t like brownie batter… Is there even such a thing as a person who doesn’t like brownie batter?

Maybe I don’t want to know 😕

Nutella Chocolate Dip

If you’re willing to share, this recipe is highly recommended as a good dessert for any potluck, barbecue, or party, as it is quick to make, easy to transport, and always well-received by guests. But it’s pretty hard to share!

In any case, I’ve had a lot of fun with Nutella week and hope you all have too. There are more Nutella recipes still to come (Nutella Ice Cream, Nutella Frosting, Nutella Fudge Brownies…), so I’ll try to incorporate these into future theme weeks. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the brownie batter dip!

(Adapted from the Cookie Dough Dip and Black Bean Brownies.)

Nutella Cookie Dough Dip

Nutella Brownie Batter Dip

  • 1 1/2 cups chickpeas or white beans (1 can, drained and rinsed very well) (250g after draining)
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar of choice or xylitol
  • 1/16 tsp stevia (see chart) OR 2 additional tbsp sugar of choice
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread or Healthy Nutella
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips, plus extra for the top if desired

In a high-quality food processor, process all ingredients except the chips until smooth. (Use a blender if you must, but I cannot vouch for the results.) Stir in the chips, then serve with sliced fruit, graham crackers, gingersnaps, or anything else you wish. Or just eat with a spoon! Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

This looks amazing! I can’t wait to make it!
I’d love to see an ice cream week, or a gluten-free recipe themed week. I know most of your recipes are naturally gluten-free or can easily be converted gluten-free, but it would still be nice to have a week full of recipes that are specifically designed to be gluten free. Thanks! 😀

  2. Cheryl says

What about a pancake week? I know you’ve already had breakfast month, but one can never have too many pancakes! I also really like the idea of cookie dough week and single-serving week 🙂

    • Alexa says

A sweet potato theme week would be spectacular, bringing both variety and delicious new flavors to the blog!! 🙂

  3. Rowena says

This looks delicious, thank you!!! Ice cream week would be wonderful, considering August is the last warm month of the year before we move into chilly autumn days.

  4. Rowena says

Am I the only one who doesn’t like single-serving desserts? If I am going to go to the trouble of preparing a homemade dessert, I am going to make more than one serving. Also, not that I score any health points for this, but I always eat more than the equivalent of one serving.

  5. Lia says

An oatmeal, chocolate+pb, cookie dough, chia seed, or banana themed week would be awesome! Thank you Katie! You rock.

  6. amanda says

I love the theme idea! Nutella was a fantastic way too kick it off too!! I would love to see cookie dough next☺

  7. Lucy says

Avocado week sounds delicious! Also an oatmeal week would be amazing, or a maple syrup week. I know you do quite a lot of banana recipes already but you could do Banana week. Or savoury week, that would be very different!

    • Teddi Myers says

I love chocolate!! However with needing to be on a GF diet; buying GF desserts from the store is so expensive. Your desserts look yummy and I can not wait to try them. My issue is how to make them taste good enough for my partner to eat them too. All of the ones from the stores have a horrible aftertaste. We get tired of not being able to eat the same desserts.

  8. EVA says

I’m not going to lie; I wasn’t a big fan of Nutella week. I LOVE Nutella-esque spreads, but these recipes weren’t my favorite.

I’d DEFINITELY want a single-serving week! Or a lunch/dinner week where you make savory meals? Or how about bread week?!

    • Liz says

Not sure why you would leave a comment like this, as it makes you sound incredibly selfish and ungrateful. These recipes are free on this site. If you don’t like one, just click away. But unless you are actually paying Katie for the recipes, you really don’t have a right to complain they “weren’t your favorite”. Please heed the wise words of Thumper, and take your negativity elsewhere.

      • eribis says

I don’t see the harm in saying that these “Nutella-esque spread” recipes weren’t Eva’s favorites….

        • Anna says

Thank you, Katie, for all of your hard work in making these recipes and offering them for free for us readers. Many of us do appreciate it.
I also appreciate your kindness in taking the time to answer reader questions and your patience. I just made the cauliflower chocolate cake, and my 5 year old said it was yummy! Planning to make many more of these recipes 🙂

  9. D says

I would like to see an Oatmeal week!
Also, I’m not sure what category this food would fall under, but I’d like to see a vegan soufflé recipe please!

  10. Jessica says

I cannot wait to make this! 🙂 And chocolate chip cookie dough week definately needs to happen! And peanut butter week also! And maybe a pie week and a cookie week…lol okay I’ll stop now 😛

  11. Morag says

Looks yummy!!!!! It would be AWESOME if you did a seasonal fruit dessert themed week, so we can play with all the lovely ripe fruits of summer!
    <3

  12. Mia (Mia in Germany) says

Mmmh, you’ve done it again 😉 I spent half a week eating your cookie dough dip as my after-run morning snack before breakfast. Now it seems to be nutella dough time…
I’d love a single serving week or a sweet potato week.

  13. Christina says

    Hi Katie,
I love your blog! I’ve made so many of your recipes and have yet to find one that I don’t like! Quick question, how many servings would you say this recipe makes? Thanks! 🙂

  14. Sarah says

Cookie week! I need a good list if cookies for a party. Oh and also could you please come up with a healthy spritz cookie recipe? I know it’s not even Christmas yet but I have the cookie press and I really want to make spritz, but not with 1 CUP OF BUTTER!!!thanks

  15. Robin in AZ says

I would love to see a baked cookie themed week. My hubby is finally buying into the idea of healthy desserts but doesn’t see the dips and dough-type cookies as dessert. Since he wants dessert every night, I’m trying to get away from the store bought junk and give him something with actual nutrients. Please help!?! I am trying some of your other recipes on him soon.

  16. Jenny says

When it comes to adding sugar to your recipes, do you use the real thing or something like xylitol? I have never tried using xylitol, does it leave an after taste? Thanks and love your blog!

    • Jennifer says

It pretty much tastes the same as sugar. But can cause stomach distress in extremely high doses in some people. Also toxic to dogs, so never give a dog a xylitol treat.

  17. Kara says

    Yum! This looks DELICIOUS!
I would love see a single serving week (I’m the only vegan in the family), a cookie dough week would obviously be great, pb+chocolate week (Reeses!), or secret ingredient week (just because it’s funny/great). Also maybe an ethnic week? Hmmm … lots of ideas. Really I’ll be happy with any of your recipes!!! 🙂

  18. Holly says

Katie, I love all your recipes and this one looks especially delicious! Do you approximately how many this recipe serves? I know for something like a dip it is hard to estimate, but I would love to see “makes a big bowl” or “double for a party-sized portion” with the recipes!

    • Abby says

It looks like it serves as much as her regular cookie dough dip, which calls for the same amount of beans. I’ve made that many times before and it serves enough for a party. About 2 cups maybe.

  19. Susan says

Katie, I think you’ve outdone yourself with this one! How could anyone not want to make and eat this?

As for theme weeks, I like your idea of sweet potato week, and quinoa week is another possibility. Also anything with unusual veggies (yeah, I know they’re not chocolate, but…).

  20. Emily says

Sugar-free week! Like recipes where there’s no sugar and also no sweeteners like xylitol or stevia… Just cause they’re not so easy to get some places!

  21. Rachel says

This looks so good although I’m probably one of the only people who don’t like hazlenuts but I figure a chocolate almond spread would work just as nicely:) I love your website and have tried so many of your recipes and even though I’m not vegan I’ve really enjoyed so many and I love feeling guilt free while indulging!:) my vote for next week is single serving. Thanks again for all your wonderful recipes!

  22. Am says

I was thinking a fruit week, or a citrus week could be cool! 🙂 Oooo, or a mint week. I am enjoying the theme weeks – it’s so fun to think what will be made with it next?? 🙂

  23. Nat says

I also like the idea of a single serving week. Also how about a microwave cooking week (don’t have a working oven)? I absolutely adore (…am addicted to) bread so a bread week would make me one very happy woman.

  24. Sally says

I’d love to see either a sweet potato or avocado week, or even better a beet week! Any of those three would be great.

  25. Crys says

I am a runner and cyclist. I love your website and check/subscribe daily. I was hit by a truck four months ago and my arm was broken and a plate and seven screws were inserted . I love your blog. Thank you!

  26. angela says

popcorn week would be interesting! like kettle corn, or “cheesy”, chocolate, cinnamon, chicago mix, dill pickle, so many possibilities!

  27. Kathy says

    Avocado week, please! 😀
I was extremely happy when you told us you changed your mind about avocados! Avocados are one of my favorite fruits! In season, here in south america, sometimes I eat three in a day! Yes, I am an addict. Have a nice weekend, Katie!

  28. Elsie says

I would love to see an avocado week. I love your recipes.

I am so sorry about your arm. I broke my right wrist 3 years ago, so I truly understand how hard it is to do everything with one hand.

    Get well soon.

    Elsie

  29. Rachel says

Single serving week! I’ve made all your single serving desserts and they are the best! I would love to see what else you can come up with! 🙂

  30. Dagmar says

    Dear Katie,
I love your site and have already tried a few recipies. They are amazing! I keep on recommending you to anybody who is interested in healthy unspoiled food. I’m even thinking about telling my diabetologist about it, so he can tell his other patients they are not lost chocolatewise ;-)!
A very special THANK YOU for converting cups into grams! Helps a lot especially here in metric Germany. (might also explain my odd English :-D)

  31. Pamela Fernandes says

I would love to see single servings.. but honestly Katie everything you do is WONDERFUL.. and AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL.. keep it up.. I love it all!!!

  32. Kathryn says

What about a hidden-vegetables week? I love it when I get to sneak veggies into my desserts. I would also be up for a cookie dough theme week. Or you could combine the two: cookie dough with hidden vegetables! That probably wouldn’t require a whole week though. 😉

  33. Allie says

This looks AMAZING! I’ve been on a Nutella kick recently (I was just introduced to potato chips and Nutella, what?) so, perfect timing! I vote for pancake week, because I love them.

  34. PottedFern says

OMGG this is the first time I’ve ever commented, but I just want to say I love your site so much!! My brother and I have been making your recipes and every one is just sooo good <3
For the theme week, please do a mint chocolate week! ouo We love your healthy mint chocolate chip milkshake!
Of course, you do already have a lot of mint chocolate stuff… but still 🙂

  35. Elemnestra says

I am a college student and the problem I’m always facing is the absence of an equipped kitchen in my dorm. The closest we’ve got to a stove is a microwave. So I would LOVE something like mug cakes that can be easily made on campus. =)

  36. Kim W says

I have a challenge: Vegan Healthy Gateau Marjolaine. Single or Two serving. CCK, If anyone can do it you can!
p.s. How about weeknight dessert week?

  37. Steph says

Mmmmmm, Nutella brownie batter dip. I can’t think of anything I wouldn’t dip into that. Well if I tried hard enough I could.. but I’m too focused on this dip!
    🙂

  38. Lili says

Hi Katie! Love all your amazing recipes and I was surprised to see under your you may also like section just before the comments the first row are pictures of your recipes and links but below that are links to food I don’t think you want on your page. Maybe you can’t avoid it but it was strange to see make your own mcdonalds cheeseburger and pulled pork recipes. Thanks

  39. Tim Treweek says

Nutella Brownie Batter Dip looks so sweet and fabulous. I do love brownies. This is perfect to served with kids. Surely, they loved this. Thanks for posting. Im going to have one.

  40. Emily says

Make Veggies Seductive week. When it’s hot and summer, I’m rarely drawn to making veggies – help me fall in love with them!

  41. Kevin C says

Katie – Is this dip supposed to be soup-y or more of a paste? My wife and I are amazed at how great is tastes, but were wondering about consistency. Thanks for what you do!

    • Unofficial CCK Helper says

Definitely not soupy! It should be thick exactly like cookie dough. Did you drain the beans fully? And use a good food processor?

  42. Sarah Sherwood says

    Hi,
This recipe looks lovely. Is there anything you could use instead of the beans as I am allergic to them and I’ve seen that you use beans in a few recipes?

    Thanks

    • Unofficial CCK Helper says

I would recommend making one of Katie’s many other pudding or dip recipes, such as the Chocolate Fondue or the Reese’s Frosting (you could use Nutella in place of the peanut butter) or even the chocolate frosting shots or use the Brownie Cheesecake Ball as a dip.
