New Product Alerts

High time to edit this page, because the products that were featured on it (and are still featured under the edit) aren’t new anymore.

So here are some products that really are new… well, at least for the next few months lol!

.

1. The new Larabars (like “carrot cake”) that Liz first told me about

(Sorry, I couldn’t find a photo)

.

2. Clif Crunch Bars

ccr

.

3. Artisana Cashini Butter and Raw Cacao Butter

cbu cbutter

That’s all from me, for now…

.

Have YOU seen any cool new products lately???

.

(Below are products from when I first wrote this page; they may no longer be new.)

I spy…

1. Justin’s Nut Butter Company is set to release three new chocolate nut butters.  Are you as excited about this as I am?!

chocolate_home

2. The So Delicious Company is introducing Coconut Milk Kefir.  Supposedly, kefir—a type of drinkable yogurt—stimulates digestion, enhances the immune system, protects against cancer, etc.  The So Delicious Coconut Milk Kefir will have 10 live and active bacteria.

(I couldn’t find a picture of this not-yet-in-stores yogurt)

EDIT: Not only did I eventually find the kefir, but I fell in love with it!  I see many kefir-themed sauces and more in my future :)

3. The Larabar Company has introduced three new flavors—PB&J, Tropical Fruit Tart, and German Chocolate.  Can you guess which one I’m most excited to try?  Too bad I haven’t seen these elusive bars near me yet…

4. A new product I have been lucky enough to find:

ses

Tofurky marinated tempeh strips—in three flavors: Sesame Garlic, Lemon Pepper, and Coconut Curry.  These thin strips are perfect for stir fries, sandwiches, salads, or just snacking on plain!  They look kind of like those Lightlife fakin bacon strips.   (I’ve tried the sesame garlic flavor.)

EDIT:

New Product Alerts in honor of Pancake Week:

Print

vans-french-toast

Hold the phone.  Frozen French Toast and Pancakes that are vegan?!  Am I reading this right?

Haven’t seen these in stores yet, but I think it’s pretty cool (and about time!) that they’re finally making such things.

EDIT #2:

Guess what I saw at Whole Foods the other day… Mini Larabars for sale!  I didn’t buy a box, since I like my regular-sized Larabars (remember my opinion of the poor mini Luna?).  But I know that a lot of you love these things, so I thought I’d spread the word!

kk

EDIT#3:

soyatoo

Soy-haters, rejoice!  Soyatoo now comes in a rice-based version!

Edit #4:

In January, Amy’s Kitchen is coming out with a new vegan version of macaroni and cheese!

That’s all for now!  But be sure to check back for updates :) .

What a cute idea Katie! I like this page.
Um German Chocolate Cake? Are you kidding me!? I heard they were coming out with new ones but I didn’t know what the flavors were… holy moly. You should come over and we’ll have a cake-feast. I’ll be on the lookout for these. Also chocolate almond butter?… Yes please!

    New Larabars?!? SWEEEEET!
Thanks for being such a glorious source of new food finds! I also got the Justin’s Nut Butter email and am elated about the new chocolate nut butters — especially the chocolate hazelnut because I never ever tried Nutella (and am never going to). Fall can’t come soon enough!
Coconut milk kefir is exciting news too! I am really impressed with the Purely Decadent coconut milk ice creams, so kefir…that one should be good!

Hi CCV, I’m new to the blog world and just love yours! I learned about you from Susan at Fat Free Vegan. I love Lara Bars!!! I haven’t seen the new flavor in Hawaii yet. I don’t know if you have a Costco near you but you can get a whole box super cheap! It’s great!

P.S. I can’t believe someone would make such a rude comment about your eating habits. I haven’t even had the chance to explore your entire blog and I can tell you’re a well-rounded eater. That person didn’t even bother to read your blog! Anyways, keep doing your thing! Great response post!

I just got a sample package of Larabars in the mail and two of the new flavors were included. Can’t wait to try them. I didn’t get the German Chocolate Cake one though

  10. July 13, 2009 3:27 am

Frozen french toast sticks?! Yes!!! (I think Ian’s is the company that also makes frozen vegan french toast sticks, but don’t waste your money on those – they are just awful!)

P.S. I still haven’t found the new Larabar flavors! Drat.

thanks for all the product alerts! now i have stuff to look for to review for my product reviews!

  16. July 26, 2009 5:13 am

Mini larabars sounds like a dream come true. I hate to harm the environment with all of the excess packing, but seriously I have NO portion control with those guys!

    Thanks for the heads-up ;)

  17. July 26, 2009 6:54 am

The coconut milk Kefir sounds really interesting. I make kefir with soy milk quite often, so I might have a bash at making my own as I don’t expect it will make its way Merry Olde England.

  18. July 26, 2009 11:23 am

I checked out the Van’s website — Van’s claims that all the organic and wheat-free waffles are vegan, but per the ingredients, they are NOT vegan. Grrrr!

(The two you posted are, of course, vegan.)

  19. July 26, 2009 2:51 pm

i was told by larabar that the minis are not available for their regular store customers! no way! and i can’t wait for the new flavors. i’ve been checking for them every time i go to whole foods or the co-op! but no, not here yet! i’m definitely going to be looking for those mini laras now. thanks for the update, chickadee.

Not only are those pancakes vegan… THEY ARE GLUTEN FREE!!!

  22. July 27, 2009 1:47 am

Yay, new chocolate nut butters to try! I have some chocolate peanut butter from Target here that is disappearing rather quickly. I can’t wait to try the almond butter one.

Here’s a link to the page about the new coconut milk kefir. They’ve got photos and nutritionals there, too. I can’t wait to try the vanilla and the strawberry.

I probably won’t buy the kefir again, but the larabars are fabulous!!e

Mini Larabars at Whole Foods! How cute! I wish they would sell them individually so I could buy 2 flavors and eat them both instead of a regular-sized bar (for variety and fun, of course!).
Anyway, Larabar update: I have now spotted the 3 new Larabar flavors at one of my local WFM’s, but not all of them. Yet. :)
And where are those darned chocolate Justin’s nut butters! CCV and RRV want some NOW! :)

I still have yet to see those new Larabar flavors here in Vancouver! However, since my boyfriend is going to be in Seattle this coming weekend, he said that he’d stop at a wholefoods and grab some for me, as well as a few other things that I can’t seem to find here. Yayy :)

Just thought you should know there is a recall on some of the Vans pancakes due to undeclared wheat, egg and milk ingredients. Here’s the info: http://news.prnewswire.com/ViewContent.aspx?ACCT=109&STORY=/www/story/08-20-2009/0005080394&EDATE=

Raw Cashini Buter! Raw Cacao Buttter! Wow, I will definitely be on the lookout for those. Yum!

  30. June 29, 2010 6:54 pm

What did you think of the tempeh strips?? I haven’t tried them yet and don’t know if I should – it’d be my first tempeh experience!

    • June 29, 2010 11:28 pm

      Hey Sarah,
They’re available at my Whole Foods here. I HIGHLY recommend them, because they’re already flavored (unlike reg tempeh) so you can’t go wrong cooking them :) .
