- 16 oz fresh strawberries
- 9 oz dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips or finely chopped chocolate
- optional 1 tsp vegetable or coconut oil
- optional melted white or dark chocolate for drizzling
- optional toppings (ideas are listed above)
Wash berries, and dry with paper towels. Be sure to let the berries dry completely. Carefully melt chocolate in a double boiler or microwave (see above for how to melt chocolate). Dip each strawberry into the chocolate sauce, using a spoon, fork, toothpick, or skewer. Coat in toppings of choice if desired. Either place berries on a parchment or wax paper-lined tray, or let them dry upside down by sticking the other end of the skewer into a piece of Styrofoam. Let the berries sit at room temperature until chocolate hardens. Decorate with melted white chocolate or dark chocolate if you wish. Chocolate covered strawberries are best served the day they are made and should be stored uncovered and unrefrigerated in a cool, dry place for up to eight hours. Refrigerate any leftover strawberries after this time for up to two days. Or freeze in an airtight covered container for up to a month.View Nutrition Facts
