Snack versus Dessert
Just like the lower-fat Chocolate Chip Dip, the original snickerdoodle dip is much yummier. But this is still a tasty snack—just maybe not as decadent and dessert-like.
Lower-fat recipe:
- 1 1/2 cups chickpeas or white beans (1 can, drained and rinsed) (250g)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- heaping 1/8 tsp salt
- sweetener (see note below, for amount)
- 2 and 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- optional ingredients: a pinch cream of tartar, raisins
Blend all ingredients until very smooth.
**People with “normal” tastebuds will probably like 3/4c brown sugar. You can also use stevia, or even liquid sweeteners. Tastes differ, so just sweeten until it suits you!
