Hey there! I just purchased a Magic Bullet and I know that you use it A LOT. I was wondering your absolute favorite recipes you’ve used or created with it! Thank you so much!

Hey Katie, just found your blog. Must have clicked on a hundred posts. Keep up the good work. 🙂
Q: Do you make your own “fondant” or sugar cupcake decorations (like the sparkly pink hearts)? I’m not sure what’s in real fondant, but it tastes like garbage and I assume has some weird stuff. Thx!
Aw I’m so glad you found me! (Especially ’cause you have the best name hehe)
For the fondant, I used to use Wilton. Haha yeah it does taste like garbage! I just recently switched to using satin ice, because the wilton stuff is so cheap it dries up quickly. The satin ice (which I bought at a cake supply store) seems much better. I still don’t like the taste, but some of my friends say it tastes better than the wilton.

Hi!
I was wondering what equipment you would recommend for making your butters and fudge babies. I’ve had food processors in the past which have died in the process of just trying to blend up dates!
Hey Chinar,
I actually make my fudge babies in the Magic Bullet. I found the Vita-mix makes them too fudgey. But others like the vita-mix. Maybe it depends on the dates you use? I use Sunmaid ones, which are pretty soft. As for coconut butter, I do use the vita-mix for that one.

I don’t think I have… but I make strawberry ice cream in it a lot (ingredients: frozen strawberries and a little almond milk). I melt/thaw the strawberries a little first, though, so the bullet can handle them better :).

are you going to/have you considered writing a book? like a book about being vegan with all your tricks and recipes? you would make soooooooooooo much money!

Enjoyed reading this! I came to this page in hopes of finding an email address but since I couldn’t find one, here’s a link to a pudding recipe that sounds right up your alley. http://greenlitebites.com/2011/02/20/avocado-chocolate-pudding/ Hopefully you haven’t already made something similar!
lol I actually don’t like avocado… but I’ve still been meaning to try it with chocolate in pudding. ‘Cause maybe I’ll like it if it’s chocolate covered, right? 😉
Haha–right! I bet you can’t taste it at all with chocolate added, and the texture is really nice and creamy, which would lend itself perfectly to use in a pudding.

What do you think of infants/kids drinking soy/almond/rice/etc milk? Do you think its safe? What about babies who can’t be breast feed because they are adopted or health problems with the mother? Is there a vegan infant formula? And do you think thats safe?
Also, do you know of any vegan dog food/treats? I’m thinking of becoming a vegan, but I don’t know what I’d feed my dog. Thanks
Sorry, I really don’t know anything about infants’ needs. But I bet of you googled it, you’d get a lot of results :). And yes, look at Whole Foods (or a similar store) for vegan dog food.

I’ve been reading your blog for a while now and really like it- some great recipes, and all the sorts of foods I enjoy (healthy AND fun!) I was wondering what work you do- you said you were in your early 20s, so I assume you’re finished studying- and if it’s food-related? Or veganism related? Just idle curiosity really, but I was wondering if your career is tied in with these things which are obviously very important in your life?

I know I’ve told you toooo many times before but I really like your blog!
Seeing as you scapbook (and are soooo talented at it) I wondered whether you might do a “How-to” post on this topic. Maybe also on how to create your own greeting cards (I loved the Africards you’ve posted!)? That’d be fantastic!
Aww ok! I will put it on my to-do list. But lol I really don’t know how I could give a tutorial. For the scrapbooking, I just go to the store and buy stickers and letters and stuff. The rest is all just creativity; you really can’t mess up. Just let your imagination dictate whatever you want to put on each page. (I’d start by selecting which photos you want to use, laying them out on the page, and then decorating around them.)

Why do you volumize all of your foods if you’re trying to GAIN weight? It doesn’t add up! Just eat less, and more calorie-dense foods, and you’ll gain without dietifying all your eats!!

Not always. Sometimes it’s only four days a week, and sometimes it’s more than eight miles. Some days, it might even be less. I don’t have a Garmin, and I’m not really rigid about my running schedule.

or my fudge babies
