I was tagged by Vegmomma to do this survey that everyone else seems to have already filled out. So here I go…
1. Favorite non-dairy milk?
Vitasoy light original. This was the ONLY brand available to me when I went vegan (while living in China), and even now that there’s an abundance of others available to me, I still end up choosing my first love.
2. What are the top 3 dishes/recipes you are planning to cook?
Roast veggies, Muffins that Taste like Doughnuts (from Vegan Vittles), and barley risotto
3. Most disastrous recipe/meal failure?
I was making s’mores in the microwave once (pre-vegan days), and the marshmallows blew up.
4. Favorite pickled item?
I guess regular ole pickles… I am boring!
5. How do you organize your recipes?
This question assumes I DO organize them.
6. If you were stranded on an island and could only bring 3 foods…what would they be (don’t worry about how you’ll cook them)?
Ack, only three?! But but but… well ok, if you insist. Peanut butter, chocolate, and oatmeal made with soymilk. (Yes, I’m aware that I cheated!) And I’d put seeds in my pockets so I could plant veggies when I arrived. 😉
7. Fondest food memory from your childhood?
On Sunday mornings, my dad would make us pancakes into shapes and letters. I loved it when he spelled out my name.
8. Favorite vegan ice cream?
Wholesoy Creme Caramel or Chocolate Hazelnut
9. Most loved kitchen appliance?
My blender– for peanut butter-banana smoothies!
10. Spice/herb you would die without?
I love oregano, but it’d be an overstatement to say I’d die without it.
11. Cookbook you have owned for the longest time?
The first vegetarian cookbook I bought was Moosewood New Classics.
12. Favorite flavor of jam/jelly?
Apricot
13. Favorite vegan recipe to serve to an omni friend?
Anything with tofu hidden inside so that as soon as my friend says, “Mmm, yummy,” I can reveal the hidden tofu.
14. Seitan, tofu, or tempeh?
Ginger seitan from Gobo. Otherwise, tempeh.
15. Name 3 items in your freezer without looking.
Amy’s Bistro Burgers, raspberries, and Van’s organic waffles
16. What’s on your grocery list?
Kale, peach salsa, chocolate, etc.
18. Favorite grocery store?
Whole Foods
19. Name a recipe you’d love to veganize, but haven’t yet.
My grandmother’s Three-Cheese Macaroni
20. Food blog you read the most.
I have my favorites, but I’m not telling (note: I am NOT above taking bribes in the form of chocolate-chip cookies!)
21. Favorite vegan candy/chocolate?
The Chocolate-Covered Vegan does not discriminate against different vegan chocolates… she’ll eat them all!
22. Most extravagant food item purchased lately? A big jar of chestnuts

Yay yay! I am a little obsessed with surveys. I could read/ answer them all day long….that is, if I didn’t have children to feed/ love/ clean up after. 😉
Vicki's Vegan Vice says
Loved reading this! No kiwi for you? For me, it’s mushrooms. I laughed at your scheme to hide tofu from an unsuspecting omni! 🙂
Peggy the Veggie says
This was fun to read!
Ooh, I can’t imagine my life without kiwis 🙂 I’ve got vegan food I don’t really like either, though- potatoes, rice, pasta, blah. hehe
Luvegan says
I like your Site 🙂 I am going through weight issues currently, hope to gain good weight soon.

My little brother gags just thinking about kiwi!
Haha, I loved your answer to the favorite vegan chocolate question. You sure do live up to your name.
I love that your dad spelled out your name with the pancakes. That is too cute.
Vegan_Noodle says
Loved reading your answers!! How in the world did you dad make letters out of pancakes? That’s so cute…
I need to convince my whole foods to carry hemp milk….
I have issues with kiwi as well. I like it while I’m chewing it, but the aftertaste, I just can’t get over it.

‘Anything with tofu hidden inside so that as soon as my friend says, “Mmm, yummy,” I can reveal the hidden tofu and watch his/her face drop! *Muahahahahaha*’
I know EXACTLY what you mean. I do it all the time! haha
VeggieGirl says
since we’ve already discussed your survey answers, I don’t have much else to say about it, haha. but I CAN’T believe that you don’t like kiwi – my little Kiwi (my dog, just f.y.i. to others reading this) is quite upset :0(
Vegyogini says
Wow, you lived in China? That’s very cool. Since you’ve forgiven me for my dislike of onions, I’ll certainly forgive you for not liking kiwi. 🙂 I love how you get pleasure out of hiding tofu in dishes to serve to omnis; that’s a fun “game.”
Peggy the Veggie says
Thanks for checking out my blog too! 🙂
Oh, that’s an absolutely brilliant brownie recipe. Turns out sooooo good, every single time. 🙂 mmm
bazu says
No kiwi? That’s crazy! But it makes sense how the fuzziness and the tartness could get on someone’s nerves. I loved reading your survey! I’ve never tried that brand of ice cream- must keep an eye out for it…
Missy says
hola—come esta tu espanol? haha. i read that you’re majoring in Spanish, so i thought i would throw some your way. hehe.
name is missy and you dropped by my groovy veg earlier. thx! if you ever wanna practice your spanish with another veg blogger, im your girl.
missy.
p.s. i enjoyed reading your tag post. i wanna be tagged, too. no one tags me. (poor me)
Christine says
hehehe you are an Evil Little Vegan! mostly because you help feed my obsession with looking at yummy foods.
and no kiwis??? what about golden kiwis? they are less tart, and my 3rd favorite fruit on the planet 🙂 you just scoop them out of their skins with a spoon.

let me know what you do with the chestnuts! I have a bag of them and I’m still deciding….
Denise says
I brought a vegan cheesecake to my parents’ house last night and didn’t tell them what was in it. They loved it of course, but then acted like they were disgusted when I told them it was made of tofu.
Amila says
i know this is an OOOOOOLD post, but i just want to say:
a.) I also dislike kiwis, and pineapples. They were both just so bleck to me! 😛
b.) What does hemp milk taste like? I’ve wanted to try it, but I’m a bit skeptical of it.
Okay so the last one is a question but, who cares? ;D
Chocolate-Covered Katie says
I didn’t like it when I tried it, but I know a lot of other people love it!
