Maybe it’s a little weird to crave ice cream when it’s 30 degrees outside. But my run made me kind of hot; ice cream just sounded like a good idea! Plus, there’s this amazing contraption: the Costco heat dish. You can eat in front of it and stay warm. Seriously, it’s brilliant! Henry thinks so, anyway. He sits so close to it that I’m worried he’ll burn his tail.
You are here: Home/Non-Recipe Posts/ what’s YOUR favorite thing to make in the Vita-Mix???
Chocolate Covered Katie is one of the top 25 food websites in America, and Katie has been featured on The Today Show, CNN, Fox, The Huffington Post, and ABC's 5 O'clock News. Her favorite food is chocolate, and she believes in eating dessert every single day.
Katie – you worry TOO much about what other people think, and you know what? It’s not really something I’d look at as a negative thing…you’re such a beautiful person, inside and out, and it really shows through in every post you make – and it’s your right to explain yourself if you get a negative comment, you aren’t being whiney at all. If only everyone could be as sweet and willing to explain their actions as you are, you’re an inspiration, and just a lovely person 🙂 Not to mention you’re a culinary genius.
I hope you’re enjoying lots of pancakes, your pups, family, friends, the sunshine, Vita-Mix ice cream creations, and so much more! Much, much love!
Meg
Sadly, I don’t own a VitaMix but my favorite thing to make in a blender is my signature vegan cheese sauce – yum! My favorite Katie recipe to make in the blender is definitely banana butter. I am sooooo addicted to that! Last night, I made another batch using Justin’s chocolate hazelnut butter. Heaven!!!
The healthy chocolate ice cream looks so delicious every time you make it!!
***FYI (unfortunate) regular blender people: If you use the “Ice crush” function to crush frozen fruits, veggies and ice, then add liquid ingredients you can make SIMMILAR concoctions (chocolate healthy ice cream, HEAB’s protein ice cream, etc.)
Hehehe… just thought I’d brag a little. For all the old people clogging the highway at rush hour, the weather is (rainy as all heck but) WARM in florida. I hope you read this Katie 🙂
That chocolate icecream looks fabulous! I need to research this VitaMix you use… I am from the UK and have never heard of it… I have seen something similar though… I found your blog today and I like it 🙂
Mmmm, the ice cream looks incredible! I would attempt to make it in my inferior blender, but even my soup made it groan.
I definitely agree that it’s time to move past winter! Next year, we can place the costco heater in front of him so he thinks it’s summery and warm out.
Do NOT worry about sounding whiny when you respond to something or discuss something personal. All bloggers are people too, and sometimes people need to share the bad with the good to their friends.
I’ll propose a Q of the day to help all the dozens of other vitamix wannabes: For those lucky people who own a Vita, how did you get it? A big red bow on Christmas (car commercial style)? Working with Mr. Piggybank until the big day came? Credit card+ online impulse buy? Moonlighting? (KIDDING!!!!!!!) Just curious!
Hi Katie!
OMG I absolutely love your blog! Thank you so much for your upbeat posts and healthy attitude! I have been reading your blog for over a year now and just started my own two days ago! You are a big inspiration! I was wondering if you mind if I put you on my list of favorite bloggers?!
– A fellow chocolate lover
hey love!! EF the haters, thats all I haev to say, laugh it off and move on, they dont know YOU or aything about you and from what I know, your awesome 🙂
I’m adding this recipe to my list…
…along with all the fudge babies to make!
Wah I’m going to be sooo busy :p
And *(&??&*? to the mean anonymous commenters…I’m pretty sure it’s the same person that is ‘duplicating’ himself just to make it look like there many haters. Which is impossible bc you are so sweet! I laughed at the ”you making money by hosting giveaway” argument…And sheesh, it’s pretty normal to ask people to link back, duh!
rude anon comments will always make us bloggers go a little ranty. I usually write scathing things, almost hit publish, then delete it all. LOL
You were not whiny or ranty at all. I love how you address the crap head-on!
And I hope I am still loved by you b/c my contests do include chia seed giveaways!
So, I saw that Puxatawney Phil saw his shadow, but Staten Island Chuck did not. Now, I think Staten Island Chuck sounds a little shady, and a johnny-come-lately to the whole weather predicting groundhog scene, but I still like his prediction better.
Just wanted to say that your blog is awesome! I’ve just made your healthy chocolate ice cream with raspberries and it was delicious, much better than regular ice cream.

I REALLY want a Vita-mix, but I am not willing to pay the 500 dollars, haha! But I’d buy it just to make that ice cream. LOL! So yummy.

Quick question- what do you want to be when you grow up?
I was reading that someone said you should open a chocolate/vegan shop- I’m kind of into the idea- I’d come from Canada down there

Gotta say, my favorite thing in the world to make in the Vita-Shaker is a protein shake. But a raw pb cookie dough shake? That would be shake-gasm.
Katie says
I so need a Vita-Mix. Oh, but I like Mae’s suggestion!
