What can you do to lift the spirits of a friend who’s having a bad day? Offer a hug? Words of encouragement? A greeting card, perhaps?
How about a personalized cupcake?
After I made Halloween cupcakes (yeah, you’ll be seeing those on the blog shortly), I froze a few for a rainy day. So, to cheer up my roommate last week, I defrosted one of the cupcakes, decorated it, and left it on the kitchen counter for dear roommie to find.
True, a cupcake can’t magically erase the world’s problems. But it sure does wonders for brightening one’s day.
As for greeting cards? They’re so last year!

1. Seems I’ve been tagged quite a few times. Hmmm, better get around to that!
2. I thought I’d update y’all on “Whole-Foods Boy” (what I shall refer to him as, from now on). Yes, he did call. We’re meeting for coffee later this week. Seems we have a lot in common (including political views, which is always nice). Honestly, I’m not really looking for a boyfriend right now, as I’ve been enjoying my new-found “singleness” these past few months. But it’s always nice to have another friend!

i love meeting guys in grocery stores. i still haven’t met one in whole foods that has asked me out, but i’ll be getting on that one!!! haha hope you guys have a good time.
if love to have you as my roomie. haha. oh and i wanted to tell you to not worry about anonymous bloggers who write mean things about you. i find that people would attack my weight when they were on a diet and discouraged and not seeing results. they’d take it out on me cuz i was active and eating healthy and not depressed lol. so look at it as a mission to help these people learn the vegan diet(sugar-free) can help them be happy like u. u make vegetables look so tasty its naughty lol. o what am i saying haha. xoxo
ps. i stopped eating meat and went back to my usual vegan diet after i realized a low-sugar vegan diet can combat candida. most people dont know this which is sad. so yay u CAN stay vegan and candida-free!

One of my college roommates had to have it explained to her why her other two roomies did not appreciate having her manure-encrusted boots inside the apartment! (She was a dairy-sci major and thought that cow poo smelled “sweet.” We begged to differ. Pretty funny.)

that was a really nice thing to do for your roomie. most of my roomies were psychos, so i probably wouldn’t have eaten anything they made for me for fear of it being poisoned…ah i digress.
dates are nice, but i think it’s a good thing to be single. i never really appreciated it until my late twenties. relationships are lots of work and i think it’s really cool to be content to be by one’s self. when you’re in a space where you can dig that–well that’s when the perfect person shows up.

Oooh coffee w/ Whole Foods boy?? I wasn’t lookinf for a bf either when I met my guy on the first day of college. We were friends for a lil while first bc I didn’t want to get into something at the start of freshman year, but 5+ years later we’re still together!

. I'm just so shy lately . ever since me and my ex-fiance split a year ago I haven't been able to ask a female out. I think it's due to the things my ex said about me when we were fighting.. right as we split. One year later and it still rings throughout my head when I think about maybe telling somebody how I truel feel about them

Andrea—I know! I had more boyfriends and went on way more dates in high school than college! Maybe because we’re all so busy in college, “growing up” and all (*rolls eyes* hehe).
Misha—Don’t worry! I’m shy too when it comes to asking people out/ talking about feelings. Lucky for me, though, I’m a girl, so I usually just wait around and make the guys do all the hard work! I know, we girls are evil, huh?
