Past, Future, and PRESENTS!

by Chocolate-Covered Katie on January 3, 2009

Yes, the most important aspects of Christmas are God and being with family. But I’d be lying through my chocolate-covered teeth if I told you I didn’t get excited about presents!

I loved every single one of my presents this year, but on the blog I’ll highlight some that are related to veganism:

The first present was definitely one of my favorites, due to the thought behind it. It came from my very dear friend, Evey, and it was the first present I’ve ever received from a blogger friend!

A few weeks ago, I didn’t think it was possible for Evey (Vegan Nurse) to get any sweeter. But after receiving the above package from her, I stand corrected; Evey’s even MORE caring that I’d originally thought! Thank you so much, Evey, for brightening my Christmas with vegan chocolates, and, even more importantly, with your kindness and friendship!

The second present– also a favorite– is from another dear friend… who hasn’t always been a dear friend! As a little kid, I would never have said my sister was my friend. But now? Now she is one of the most amazing girls I’m privileged to know. Below is one of her presents to me (an apron from Anthropologie).

As for the third present—this was a gift from me, to my wonderful mommy (who has a santa collection). It’s Mr. Potato Head Santa! Mr. Potato said that I could feature him in this post because hey, he IS a vegetable, after all!

Look at the cute scottie gift bag :o ). I love how, at Christmastime, there’s an abundance of scottie-themed merchandise available– towels, ornaments, plates, pajamas, etc.

Sadly, I’ve yet to see any Henry-themed items.

I just did a post about green smoothies that reminded me about your spinach smoothie you made a while ago. Check it out!

yay for vegan chocolate and sharing the holidays with loved ones. and even awesomer-(is that a word?) is your holistic veganness. to me being vegan goes way beyond what i’m eating these days, it’s about tikkun olam-(hebrew commandment to heal the world).

Andrea– Yup, Henry definitely has his own stocking too. He and Molly each received a bone that is bigger than their own heads. And the other day, I walked in the room to find Henry with BOTh bones!

Laci– Thanks for the Christmas wishes! And Happy Belated Christmas to you as well :o )
