I cut this pie into 9 slices for the party, but that was because people often prefer “taste-size” slices at parties with many desserts. I’d say this recipe could comfortably serve six, and so the nutritional info is based upon 6 slices, not 9.
Per slice:
- 245 calories
- 3 grams fiber
- 0 mg cholesterol
- 13g fat (heart-healthy, unsaturated fats from the pecans)
- 5 grams protein
- and 14% RDA for iron
In comparison: A traditional piece of pecan pie has 579 calories, 33 grams of fat, and 169 mg cholesterol (Nutritional info from Allercipes.com)
A sugar-free idea:
An alternative to the agave might be to puree soaked dates along with the other ingredients. I didn’t try this, so I can’t give a specific amount; just taste-test when it’s in the food processor, and add more dates if it needs to be sweeter.
