Katie!! Oh my goodness! I cannot wait to try them all. I’ve been looking to change it up with breakfast and this is perfect. I get your emails, so as soon as I see them you know I’ll be running to my kitchen hahah! 😉

I can’t seem to find the actual recipes – help, what am I doing wrong????
Alyssa says
It says “upcoming recipes” meaning they are going to be posted this month to her Pinterest account. If you follow the link she gives at the bottom to her Pinterest board, she will be posting them there throughout the month. If you don’t have pinterest, it says they will be on facebook as well.

I realize “teaser” blog posts to stir up excitement for upcoming posts are very common, but I had always appreciated that CCK didn’t do that. Out of habit, I browsed my email from her, clicked on the recipe I wanted to try today if I had the ingredients on hand, and was confused when just a photo gallery popped up. I came over to the site, clicked on the picture again and found no recipe. It was then that I read the comments and also realized there’s a banner at the top saying new recipes will be posted/sent out Mondays & Thursdays. I wish there were a way to sign up to only receive emails when recipes are being posted. I’ve unsubscribed to many newsletters in the past when the actual useful content decreased and the promotions increased. I hope that if she has to keep doing “teasers” for one reason or another, that they never become more frequent than actual recipe emails. I understand that promotion can be very useful… but in my case, I tend to either save an email because I found useful info, or just delete it and forget it. I’m not likely to remember to come back in a few days or a week to follow up on something that caught my eye.
Alyssa says
I’m not really sure what you mean in your comment. Granted I don’t get emails, but I don’t remember any other teasers Katie has done in the past few months so don’t really get the “if she keeps doing teasers” part? But I do completely get what you mean about other newsletters doing a ton of teasers. I don’t have a problem with this one (Katie, I LOVE your site and recipes!) but there are others, mostly non recipe blogs, that send out promotional posts every week and it’s crazy.

These recipes sound amazing, I love pancakes and I will definitely try the Sweet Potato Hashbrowns as well xx

Love the new layout, but the recipes have no “links” just text – have tried on both Google and IE (Edge). Were there supposed to be links (none in email either, other than the one to your blog.

Hi! Sorry for the confusion! This post was meant as a preview of what’s to come in January and to introduce Healthy Breakfast Month.
If you’re signed up for emails or follow on social media, you’ll already get alerts to when they are all posted. And if you don’t want to sign up, that’s ok too! They will all be posted on the blog too. I initially was going to do a breakfast ebook but decided people would like it much better if I kept the recipes free 🙂

The sweet potato hashbrowns and flourless pancakes look fantastic! I cannot wait to try them!!
Stephanie M. Connors says
Go Katie. I used to bake a lot from your cookbook sitting on my counter. Your sweet potato recipe caught my eye via Google.
I have used a variation or two of my own. BEST!

I do receive your e-mail but I cannot find any working link to the breakfast recipes sent to me today. I don’t have time to go through many pictures/recipes on Pinterest. Can you help?
Chocolate Covered Katie says
Hi, sorry for the confusion, and I wish I could go back and edit the email I sent out. ALL of the recipes will be posted here on the blog (and in the emails you get) this month. The social media links are only provided if people want to follow along without having to remember to go to the actual blog and check for new recipes.
There’s nothing you need to do… All of the recipes will be sent out to you as they are posted. 🙂 Once again, sorry for my confusing choice of words. Sometimes I understand what I mean in my head, but it does not translate very well onto paper.

This is all very well but how would this post help someone get out of a breakfast rut? I mean…. theres just so many good options here that it would render me unable to make any kind of decision about which to try first! 😛
Alyssa says
It’s really a shame that we can’t have ten breakfasts every day. It’s my favorite meal of the day!

Cannot wait to see the recipes for the flourless pancakes or the sweetpotato hashbrowns. Breakfast is the most challenging meal for us because we do not want a dessert or too much starch to start our day. Sugar is always a problem and no one can eat eggs everyday. Keep up the good work. We love your recipes and your site.

Can you do a post about necessary staple ingredients you use and where you purchase them? I’m not vegan or GF or flourless or anti-oil but I love all your posts and recipes. Sometimes there are specialty ingredients that I’m unfamiliar with and can’t easily find in my neighborhood Kroger. Thanks!
Chocolate Covered Katie says
I can do better than a post! I can list my favorite spots right here 🙂
For most ingredients, I can find them either at a regular grocery store (such as Safeway) or at Whole Foods or Trader Joes. But for many dry items, I like to buy on Vitacost.com. Their prices are actually usually lower than in grocery stores.
If there’s ever a specific item you’re looking for that you can’t find either on Vitacost or at Whole Foods or a regular grocery store, please feel free to leave a comment in that post asking where I got it. 99.9% of the time, those are the only stores I buy from 🙂

Breakfast is by far my favourite meal of the day. If I could I would have breakfast foods for lunch and dinner as well! These recipes all look so good 🙂

Hey Katie I can’t wait for these recipes! Especially the sweet potato hash browns. I’ve been putting off making something with potatoes but I am definitely making this! So excited ?

Apparently also too much of a hassle for you to read the comments above yours where Katie already apologized multiple times? One star to your comment. Just saying.

Read comments above yours. She has already explained what happened.

I love healthy breakfast month – it comes at a perfect time as I try to reevaluate what I’ve been eating for breakfast. It’s clear I need more fiber and less sugar… Keep them coming!
Amy says
Thanks for putting this list together, I bookmarked most of them.
Amy says
Seriously? You gave a “one star” because you can’t see the actual recipe? They’re up and coming throughout the month. Read. The. Caption. Petty isn’t even the word for this… Anywho..here’s 5 stars for clearing that up 😉

Hi Katie! I wasn’t sure where to post this question, hope its allright here.
I’ve heard that standart ovens in the US have the heat coming from the buttom of the oven, where I live the standart oven has heat from the top + the bottom and a fan mode to distribute the heat evenly.
Does your (awsome!) recipes are written for the buttom-heat-ovens or that my info is mistaken and the recipes are made for top+buttom+fan-ovens?
Thanks!
Chocolate Covered Katie says
I’m not really sure… my oven came with the apartment, so I’m guessing it would be one of the more standard ovens you mentioned. I would keep an eye on a recipe you’re making and adjust time accordingly, at least the first time. Hope that helps!
cooking says
Thanks!
I can turn on only the buttom heat, think I’ll try a small batch.

Aw thanks for letting me know! Have you looked in one of the tabs at the top of gmail? Not sure if this applies to you, but for the longest time I didn’t realize there was a Promotion tab at the top and some of my emails were being filtered into it automatically. Let me know either way… if not, I want to continue to troubleshoot, because it lists you as active!
