- 3 bananas (320g) (For banana free, make Almond Milk Ice Cream)
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder or chocolate protein powder (15g)
- 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp peanut butter or almond butter (45g) (optional)
- 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips (22g) (optional)

1. Peel bananas, slice into large pieces, and freeze. This step can be done days or even weeks in advance.
2. Blend frozen bananas, cocoa powder or protein powder, vanilla, salt, and optional nut butter in a high speed blender or food processor. Stop to scrape down the sides as needed, and blend until smooth.
3. Use a spoon to stir in any mix ins you wish.
4. Enjoy as a soft serve treat. Or transfer to a container and freeze about thirty minutes for a firmer chocolate banana ice cream texture.
5. Store leftovers in the freezer for up to three weeks. Thaw until easy to scoop into bowls or ice cream cones.
