I’m going to be on television!!
The Dallas ABC affiliate news team is filming a story on me, for the 5 o’clock news! It’s pretty much the coolest thing to happen to me since… ever?!
For the feature, I’m thinking of making this recipe.
Right now I’m more excited than nervous, but that’s maybe just because it hasn’t really sunk in yet how many people are going to see this! Today’s agenda: figuring out what to wear, setting up dishes, and going on a cleaning spree. To power me through, I made a stand-by favorite breakfast:
Peanut Butter Breakfast Pudding
(serves 1)
One of My Oatmeal Recipes.
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup milk of choice (I used almond)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 a ripe banana
- 1-2 T peanut butter (or other nut butter)
- 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
- sweetener (the amount will vary, depending on your tastebuds and what milk you use)
- optional: chocolate chips
Cook the oats, salt, and milk (either on the stove or in the microwave). Meanwhile, blend the pb and banana. Then add your vanilla, sweetener, and 1/2 of the cooked oats to the blender (I used a Magic Bullet) and re-blend. Stir in the rest of the oats. You can blend all the oats if you prefer, but I like the chewiness of leaving some un-blended.
See the following link for: Calories + Nutritional Info.
(Feel free to slice remaining banana on top.)
Question of the Day:
Are you comfortable speaking in front of a group?
Or do you dread giving public presentations? Have you ever acted in a play or been on tv? I always loved giving class presentations and speeches in school, so I probably would’ve enjoyed acting. Unfortunately, I was too busy with soccer and tennis to join the drama club. As for the upcoming tv story, I am nervous about one thing (which might sound silly and superficial): what to wear. I’m clueless about fashion. Any tips?? Please send them my way!
Side note: I updated My Press Page.

HOW EXCITING!!!! You deserve this awesome oppertunity!
Congrats!
that’s SO exciting and such a great opportunity! congratulations girl! and i’m loving the looks of this peanut butter breakfast “pudding” – easy peasy and delicious!
I love the idea of blending the PB, banana and oatmeal together! That looks delicious! And congrats on the TV debut!!! That’s so exciting!!!!
Eek!! How exciting for you!!!! Congratulations!
eepppsss sooo excited for you!!! That is awesome!!! You should def make the cookie pie!
How exciting!! I was on TV for work once and our PR ppl said to wear solid colors, no black or white, and pastels are generally better. I remember because it was cold out, and I had very few warm pastels to choose from!! My mom’s advice has always just been to smile!
I’m sure you’ll be great! You should post a link on here afterwards!
Hi Katie
I think this is awesome! I am so excited for you. I have been following your for awhile, ever since I had to go gluten free, and have found such wonderful recipes from your site. Please be sure to post the interview on you tube…can’t wait to see it!

Ahhhh!! Katie I’m so excited for you to be on TV! You should definitely make the deep dish cookie! You are going to do so great! I’m sure this is just the first of many great opportunities to come! Yay yay yay! And this breakfast pudding just looks amazing!
Congrats!
I love peanut butter and cannot wait to try this
I may put jelly on top too!!
I live in Dallas, when/what channel is it going to air???
Channel 8
Congratulations! This is such a great oppertunity! I hope it’s going to be posted online as well, since I live overseas..Woohoo!
good luck! wear a solid color and fun accessories! I made myself a cookie pie for my birthday today
the pb banana oatmeal also looks delicious! what an awesome idea…i’ll add chocolate chips to mine
Aww happy birthday!
Holy COW, that is ridiculously awesome! How fun for you. Can’t wait to hear how it goes. GOOD LUCK!!!
Ohmygoshhhhh!!! Congrats! SO excited for you!!! While it be online so I can watch, too??
I’m not sure lol
You should wear bright colors. Black, white, and neutrals will wash you out under the camera lights. My two cents? Where something that envokes the mood of your blog, which to me is young, fresh, and fun.
Oops, that’s “evokes.”
I’m thinking of a cupcake apron!
Good luck on the TV debut! I agree with the comment above about sticking to solid colors. You want your marvelous food and your shining enthusiasm to stand out, and that can be somewhat harder to accomplish with distracting print or highlighter-inspired colors. You could also call your contact at the station and ask for their recommendations – they’re sure to have some!
Congrats again!
Congrats! You had me at peanut butter here
katie, just recently ‘discovered’ you because of a pin on pinterest. you are my kind of cook and i will be back OFTEN!!
Aww thanks! I’m so glad you found me
.
Thats super exciting. This recipe looks great but I really think you should highlight your oatmeal doubling trick. Its really easy and helps you feel like you are eating more and even sneaks in more water!!
Katie congrats!! Better put a video of it on this blog! That pudding looks amazing, LOVE the banana in it!
I literally have a similar version to this breakfast everyday! It’s so good I never get sick of it.
Congratulations. Totally agree with Annie about wanting to see a video and the cookie pie will be perfect – innovative but not too scary to non-vegans or healthy food first timers!
Def go with plain, crisp coloured clothes and extra face powder (studio lights are really hot).
Good luck! As to what to wear… be sure to avoid small, busy patterns on your shirt. They tend to look bad on TV.
Wow how exciting, I am so happy for you!!!!! I hope you will post the video on your site for those of us who don’t live in your area. The deep dish cookie pie is wonderful, great choice! I eat a similar oatmeal to the peanut butter pudding you posted very often. I was inspired to make it based on your melted banana trick. I make steel cut oatmeal, since I’m not a huge fan of creamy like you are, then I use your melted banana trick and add it as well as a dollop of almond butter in the oatmeal once it has finished cooking. I just stir it together. Too lazy to get out the blender, but it is great. I like the idea of the vanilla extract I will have to add that in as well. I recently added 1/2 tspn of cinnamon which was a nice addition as well. I don’t use any sweetener, the melted banana is sweet enough. Thanks so much for your great site and inspiring all of us to eat better and enjoy it! Wishing you the best on your telelvision debut!
Have fun and wear something you love, that will help calm you down so you can enjoy the moment!
CONGRATS Katie, that is such a cool opportunity! Do you think it’ll air online too?!
Not sure lol
You’re going to be SO fab! The cookie pie is a great choice, I haven’t made it though so I don’t know how quick and easy it is to make but I know everyone loves it! I know your chocolate fudge pie would be super easy to make and impressive, and your cookie dough dip would probably go over a treat too!
Don’t worry about public speaking – just be yourself and pretend it’s just you and the interviewer there. And if you can get it on YouTube so we can all watch!
x
Congrats and good luck! I’d say solid dark pants or skirt and a bright shirt!
Congratulations! That is so exciting.
This sounds like a great recipe to use. I’d go with what other people said about what to wear: solid colors. Partly, that way people can see what you are doing with your hands- an old secret of sign language interpreters. And I would add- wear something comfortable that makes you feel confident and happy.
Congratulations! If they put it online, please post a link so the rest of us can see it. So happy for you! Don’t be nervous – just remember that YOU ROCK and we think you are fabulous!
Congratulations Katie! Just remember to breathe…you will be awesome! Hope you can post a link to the segment so we can all watch?
Love your blog and recipes, have been following for awhile now. Your posts always bring a smile. Take care!
That’s so cool! Can you put it on YouTube so all of us can watch it? Then I think you need start your own YouTube cooking show
Congratulations!!!
Haha I need to learn how to work youtube.. I’ve never posted anything on there! I need a middle-schooler to teach me
.
Oh, please put a link to it on your blog! We all want to see it!
I just made the pizza hummus yesterday. I was awesome!
That’s exciting and a little scary! Congrats! And this looks delicious! My husband lives oatmeal and loves pb&banana so what a great idea to combine the two!
OHMYGOODNESS!!! How exciting for you…I can’t imagine why it hasn’t happened sooner. =) I use to be mortified of speaking in front of groups, but then when I was asked to…I learned the empowerment that knowing someone has enough faith in you to think you can do it…and I learned to love it! I relax by beginning with a couple of funny stories (that may not be your option on tv!) and it gives me time to swallow the lump in my throat, and I am off and running. You have sooo much good knowledge and wisdom to share..you’ll do just great! Congrats!!!
Congrats on the feature! You should ask for a copy and post it on youtube for all of us to see!
Congrats!!!!!!!! How exciting!!!
Congrats on the news story! That’s awesome and I know you’re going to do fabulously! Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and at ease just do your thing!
I’m so THRILLED for you!! Your blog has inspired a ton of creativity in my own kitchen as I’ll see something and think…”I wonder if I can do this with ???” You’ll RoCk on air!! When, where…I wanna see!!
I’ve done public speaking (as an Ambassador for a weight loss company) but nothing on “air”. I always got nervous before but once I started…it was a piece of cake…with chocolate of course!!
…that was pretty “dumb” of me to put my last name on my comment wasn’t it? (Ha ha) But I realize there are tons of folks with “my” name…(Yikes!)
No worries! I edited it out for you
.
i had this exact thing, by way of coincidence this morning! how very very spooky
it was similarly delicious x
Congrats Katie! I hope you can post a link to the video afterwards!!!
I live in Fort Worth so let us know when the feature will air so I can set my DVR!
Oh and total coincidence but I had a dream last night that I was making your pizza hummus and used a whole can of garbanzo beans instead of just the 1/2 cup called out in the recipe and freaked out because I thought I had ruined the batch. But that’s all I remember so I don’t know how it turned out in the end. Totally random! lol
LOL!
I will definitely update when I know the air date.
Ah, Katie that is so exciting! I wish I lived in Dallas and could watch it. Once it comes out as a video form (maybe like on the news’ website), could you post it on here?
You’ll be great! Don’t worry about it and it will just come naturally.
I’ve played in piano and violin recitals, but I have never made a presentation! I think that would kill me!
Congrats on the segment – that’s so exciting!
I’m actually really comfortable with public speaking – I never saw why it was so scary. God gave me a big ol’ mouth that never shuts, might as well use it!
Do you think you can make this the night before? (If someone already asked this, you don’t have to answer, I’ll look up at the comments after I write it) Because this would be the BEST way to start my morning and I’m just too crunched for time getting to work.
As for fashion, I am a fashion teacher! I would recommend something black or neutral, because it will put the focus on your face. Do you have an outfit that makes you feel like you can rule the world? Wear that. You’ll be comfortable and you wont waste energy worrying about it while you’re on camera.
Good luck!!! How exciting.
You can definitely make it the night before!
I pretty much always make my breakfasts the night before, because I hate cooking in the morning.
For my first comment ever on your blog, I want to say CONGRATS!!!! And I wholeheartedly support your recipe choice to share. That is the perfect recipe to show off how amazing your recipes are. It’s how I first found you (through Pinterest). That recipe never ceases to amaze my family and friends when I make it. Keep up the good work! I hope you’re able to share the video when it’s all said and done. I’m sure there are a lot of us who would love to see it. Good luck!!
Aww thank you so much, Amanda!!
Congratulations Katie! That is so awesome. I’m sure you’ll do great.
I hope they put the your interview online. I would love to see it. And I have made your deep-dish cookie pie. It is amazing!
Public speaking, not my favorite. But I’ve done it for issues that are very important to me, like health and veganism.
This recipe looks so yummy, and yay for you!!! Congratulations! When in doubt, wear black.
oh my days, YUM!! I am very comfortable with public speaking and all things like the that:) comes naturally to me!
Oh, congratulations, Katie! That is awesome, exciting, and affirming! You are doing an amazing job! xo Lina
You will look lovely no matter what you wear! Congrats!
Oh, and I’m making this oatmeal recipe for my breakfast right now!!
Congrats!!! I only recently discovered you (via pinterest) and your recipes look great. I can’t wait to try them. You’ll do great, best of luck to you!
Public speaking isn’t my forte, I think I manage to pull it off well enough (at least I think so) but inwardly I am in total freaked out mode.
As for dressing, nothing over the top. I think one key bright piece will make a nice outfit have a pop. Perhaps a bright blazer or cardigan. You’ll look great no matter
Congratulations! If there’s a way for those of us who don’t live there to see it online, be sure to let us know!
Wait so is it tonight?? YAYAYAYA CONGRATS!
No, they haven’t filmed yet. And thankfully it won’t be live
. But I’ll definitely try to get a video posted.
SUPER CONGRATULATIONS! Wear bright, happy colors because it suits your personality!
This is great! How exciting! I’ve seen you here in a blue sequined top, not sure if you still have it, but it sure made your eyes pop. Best of luck, breathe and enjoy!
Funny I had banana peanut butter oatmeal for breakfast today but I snuck in a few chocolate chips.
As for what to wear, I say wear something you are comfortable with because the last thing you want to do is fret over your shirt riding up or something like that. Simple but classy.
Congratulations! TV–that is so exciting!
And you breakfast looks delicious–peanut butter and banana oatmeal is one of my favorites!
Congratulations – that’s awesome! I would be freaked because I HATE giving speeches or talking to a group of people in general. Definitely something for me to work on. Hope I can see a video of it somewhere
Where/how can I watch this in Canada??
I’ll try to post footage after it airs
.
Awesome!!
Congratulations on your success! I will be trying this oatmeal in the morning! Thank you!
deep dish chocolate chip cookie pie all the way! good luck with your interview on the news.
Congrats and GOOD LUCK- I’ll be rooting for you!!
Congrats that’s awesome Katie!!! I think you should make the most chocolate coma inducing recipe you have
Congrats on your TV appearance! That’s so exciting!
If I were in your place, I’d err on the side wearing something simple and comfortable. You will be nervous enough, so you don’t want to be thinking about messing with your outfit or potential wardrobe malfunctions! With that being said, using something that’s brand new and hasn’t yet been tested probably wouldn’t be the best idea. I would definitely go with something tried and true that you feel GREAT in.
Good luck!!!
Your recipes are amazing. I am obsessed with sweets and continually impressed with your ability to make healthy and flavorful food!
Oh my gosh, I’m so, so excited for you!! What a wonderful opportunity and you totally deserve it! You create the most amazing recipes and I’m glad you get to share them with the tv-viewing world! I’ve always been comfortable with public speaking and was in plays growing up and then was in Speech and Debate and Moot court in high school! I’m with you, figuring out what to wear is the hardest part! I’d go with something classic and if you are going to be cooking you could wear a cute apron!
My first comment on ur blog..
Congratulations on this splendid TV opportunity!! I was on tv for an icecream commercial. While shooting, they said it’s only an audition.. so naturally I wasn’t very nervous. But as it turned out, they used the audition footage for the commercial. oops! My tip is to wear 3/4 length sleeves… easier to work with, in a kitchen.
I can’t wait to make your deep dish cookie pie! I hope you can suggest a workaround for the 1.5 C brown sugar. That will make the pie completely healthy.
I use Nunaturals stevia baking blend. You can go cup for cup but I’ve found I get no stevia taste if I use half the amount. It’s still plenty sweet enough!
I tend to halve the recipe and use about 5-6 Tbs of baking blend.
I even used half baking blend and half powdered sugar recently to make a really tasting frosting.
That stuff is *awesome*. Nunaturals is the only stevia brand I like – no icky aftertaste.
I use it for everything – homemade vegan frozen yogurt, ice cream, baking, etc.
Second the nunaturals love
.
But also, I’ve never baked this following sugar-free recipe: http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/09/27/new-recipe-sugar-free-cookie-dough-dip/
Maybe you could try it baked? If you do, please let me know how it turns out!! I’d be so interested to know.
Congratulations on the feature and good luck! That is really amazing. People are going to love that recipe.
I just love oatmeal and peanut butter together, but then again I pretty much eat peanut butter and everything!!
Oh my goodness congratulations Katie! You should definitely post the video! Or is it available via National TV?
That is sooo exciting, Katie!! I know you will be great
My fail safe dress-to-impress outfit is a cute cardigan, jeans, and boots. I feel like it looks like you are trying to look nice without trying too hard. I guess your outfit might also be dictated by the weather…
congrats for being on TV!!!! WOOHOO! i’ll try to watch it! <3
I just spent all day speaking to a group, so I’m pretty comfortable as well. There’s always butterflies, but once I get talking it’s all good. Good luck and congrats on the awesome opportunity!!
Wow, Congrats to you! I’m sure you will do awesome!
Looks delicious! Your recipes have yet to fail me. Good luck on TV…I’m sure you will do great!
How exciting! Hope you can post a link for us to see if we don’t live in the area
God Bless!
Congrats Katie!!! I’m not in the area but would love to see the segment so I hope that’s possible! Good luck. I’m sure you will find something fabulous to wear!
I’m actually going to be on tv next week too! Just the local morning show, but I’m still nervous about what to wear too! I went shopping last weekend and completely struck out. My fashion-y friend told me that she’s heard you should stick to solid colors rather than stripes or patterns when you are on tv, but that you should go with a nice, bright color like a blue or green or red. Does that help? Have fun!
Thanks! And good luck to YOU as well!
how cool!! Congrats
That is awesome!! I am so excited for you! And that breakfast looks amazing!
I’m so excited for you. Good luck. I know you’ll come across just as wonderful as all of us readers think you are
Please post video of the ABC News piece.
That is pretty cool! Very nerve-racking.
I eat this everyday for breakfast! Damn, so good.
xox
HOW EXCITING!!! You definitely deserve it! Just think of how many people will see that HEALTHY can be DELICIOUS!!!!!!! Awesome opportunity – I am so pumped for you!
I am a teacher, so I’m comfortable in front of a group. I teach 7th graders, but then I also teach dance classes (zumba, cardio dance, hip hop, abs) for adults, and I enjoy both. I was invited to speak earlier this year at a university about classroom management. At first I was nervous, but I really enjoyed it! They asked me to come back this semester for another seminar, and I’m thinking of trying to get my name out there to work with other universities.
You’ll be great!!!
Oooh, congratulations on the tv story! Very exciting!
So exciting….looks like the next big chapter in your life/career is just around the corner. Embrace it and simply be you! (p.s i am also rubbish when it comes tp fasion so i will refrain from offfering any advice other than be comfortable so you don’t end up ‘fiddling’!)
Congratulations! Just imagine you’re talking just to the cameraman or something and try to forget the camera… hope it goes well
You will do great! Wear something that is comfortable for you so you don’t have to think about what you have on. It’s about you- not your clothes.
Please record the broadcast (or get a friend to) and then you can figure out how to post the video later.
A DVR would be the best way to record, but a VCR would be OK if a DVR isn’t available.
Wow Katie Congratulations!!!
Will people outside of Dallas be able to watch the show? Maybe in a couple of days on You tube or something.
And it’s not silly to be nervous about what to wear. I would be too!
As for me, never been on TV. I was in the newspaper once though… in the 5th grade, since I was part of a project (writing and putting on a play, actually) which won a local competition.
Break a leg, as they say
I’m not sure, but I’ll try to get footage so I can share it
.
Congrats! Now even more people will learn about this chocolate wonderland
. But I am a real social disaster who hates presentations more than anything so I can’t give any advice. Just be yourself. People will like you for who you are.
Wow that’s so exciting!! You should def post a recording of it for all your international fans (:
This looks delicious. I’m on tv a lot. Usually wardrobe likes jewel tones especially purples and blues. Avoid red or white and don’t wear a lot of black. Avoid prints and a little layering usually is nice. Wear accessories but nothing too crazy. Earrings look nice. Good luck and have fun!
I should clarify: * wardrobe department usually likes… Just read that and thought it might be confusing.
Thanks, Lisa! I’ll make a note to stay away from red and black and white
.
CONGRATS!! I look forward to seeing the clip.
This looks like a great breakfast anytime!
What a fabulous recipe! I love anything that is pudding-like (hence my love for oatmeal and thick smoothies).
I completely dread speaking in front of groups. I’ve gotten much better after having done it frequently throughout grad school, but it still gets me anxious. Surprisingly, doing video blog posts has also helped a lot!
That’s so exciting they’re doing a story on you! Congrats!!! You picked a deliciously awesome recipe to showcase… it sounds amazing, I’ll be trying that sometime! Hope it all goes well!!!!
Good luck! I can’t wait until you’re on national television!
Are you sick of the congrats yet? If not, congratulations on this great opportunity to to strut your stuff. I’m sure that you’ll be great. Go get em Katie!
You GO Girl! That’s pretty much the most exciting thing EVER. And you will obviously rock it! I’d be SO nervous, I’m definitely not a presentation/perform in front of people kinda gal so being on TV would pretty much be terrifying for me. It just seems SO perfect for you though. And you picked an amazing recipe to showcase. Oh yes I’ve tried it. Oh yes it disappeared in a day. SO so good. And this PB Breakfast Pudding is going on my breakfast to-make list right now too. I totally forgot about your blended oats technique, I used to do that a LOT after I first found out about it from you but it flew off y radar over time… I’m so excited that you reminded me. And so excited for you on TV! Please oh please get a clip to show us
Eek! Good luck on the show!! :]
I have just about no fashion sense, lol. But I hate speaking in a public group because I am naturally a really quiet person. I remember when I moved to another town when I was starting 5th grade. The desks weren’t in groups or next to each other and I barely talked for 2 whole weeks! (a group of people even started calling me, ‘the girl who never talks’) then the teacher put the desks into groups of 4 or 5 and then I started to become more social.
Congratulations! I’m so excited for you.
I absolutely love peanut butter and banana oatmeal!
Ooops, meant to comment here! Congratulations, Katie!! That is so cool and amazing! You totally deserve it and will be AWESOME!! See, that cookbook is going to be coming around — a best seller for sure! Have fun, and enjoy what is sure to be your first of many interviews, TV appearances! This just makes me smile
You are such an inspiration!! Thank you again for all that you do!!
With love, Colleen
Congratulations! I don’t live near Dallas anymore and I am sad I couldn’t see you on it! I am excited for you!
Katie congratulations! Wow we are close geographically, Cool! I wanted to ask you something….
I decided tonight to get healthy. I have been wanting to for a while now but. I have been “Pinning” on Pinterest and surfing Foodgawker and I have come to know so many great blogs like yours here. I am going to get healthy. I am going to blog it too (then I will have to go through with it right?? I want to get other people in on this. I don’t want to do it alone.
Six years ago exactly I was a 38 year old, mom of four who wore a size 6!! I just decided a few moments ago that I would ask other bloggers to help me encourage others to join me getting healthy. You are in terrific shape, that is how you have inspired me. I have been reading your recipes and know I can do this!
Would you be willing to do some guest posts for me and help me encourage others to follow and get healthy together. I am a working mom of six, busy busy. There isn’t much time for the blogging but I want to encourage others to get healthy. If I can make the time to do it anyone can.
If you’d be interested in collaborating email me at svrmomof6 at gmail dot com. This isn’t sponsored and there is no financial profit, lol. I just have a blogspot blog…. just a mom wanting to get healthy.
Hi Tammy,
Your blog is beautiful… I love the pink
. And the cupcakes!
I have a few other guest posts I need to work on, so I’m swamped at the moment. But please feel free to use any of my photos if you wish. Maybe later in the year I can find more time… if only there were 5000 hours in the day, right?
speaking of peanut butter… these are AMAZING.
http://bunsinmyoven.com/2009/11/30/quick-easy-no-bake-scotcheroos/
if you could make a slightly healthier scotcheroo recipe, i would be so excited! I’m already experimenting with trying to switch out the corn syrup!
Hmmm… I’ve never had a scotcheroo! They look fun. Maybe if you added more peanut butter to this recipe?? http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/10/19/homemade-luna-bars/
wohoo!!
Hi Katie, congratulations and break a leg — or, should I say, break an egg! BTW, I don’t think breakfast is too early for a light sprinkling of miniature chocolate chips, do you? Just seems a shame to leave out the chocolate if you’re going to have peanut butter. I’ll let you know how it goes, but it is safe to predict that my 9 and 12 year old sons won’t be complaining (nor will I!) about breakfast tomorrow.
Haha I actually *did* add chocolate yesterday! I throw in some Dagoba 100% chocolate when it’s still warm, and the chocolate gets all melty.
I think I need to edit my post to include chocolate. Thanks for the suggestion!!
Congrats!!! How exciting!!!!
In terms of recipes, a lot of people hate oatmeal (not me-but so many people I know do!) so maybe make another dessert like your famous cookie pie?
That is so exciting! I’ll have to tell my Dallas friends to watch it for me! As for what to wear? With your personality and warmth I hardly think you need to worry about it! Your smile is gonna charm everyone
Good luck, Girl!
Congratulations! It’s about time the rest of the world knows what we all do, your recipes are amazing. I’ve yet to find one that I don’t like
Hi! Do you know what is the name of the channel that it is going to be on? I live in the Columnia area of South Carolina!
It’s Dallas’ ABC-affiliate channel (WFAA). I’m not sure it’s available outside of Texas and apparently parts of OK and Arkansas. But I’ll try to get footage for the blog.
Whoops, I meant Columbia…
I have to steer away from oats and peanut butter, but I’m going to try this today with cooked brown rice and sunflower nut butter. Thanks for another delicious idea!
Congratulations- and how cool!!! You’ll have to post a link to it if we can see it online!!
The oatmeal pudding looks awesome, and very similar to how I make my oatmeal. I add in egg whites too, because I love that custard-y flavor.
I’ve gotten really good at talking in front of a group, because I’m a teacher and have to do it every day. Piece of cake now- but it wasn’t always that easy!
Bravo! We need more good news like you getting on the news! You’ll be fabulous. Everyone remembers their first time;-) I’m an executive coach and work with folks on executive presence–the trick is ENERGY–which you have oozing out of your photos, so no worries. A tip from an old movie–tuck the back of your shirt or dress down into the seat when you sit down (or tuck it into your shirt or pants), it helps remind you to sit up straight so the camera can focus on your beautiful face. Break leg!
Congratulations Katie! That is so exciting!!! Can’t wait to watch it!
I am sure you will do great! A healthy cookie pie, who wouldn’t love that! You should go with that one!!!
Congratulations! I’m sure you will do very well. I’m looking forward to seeing it
I hate public speaking, hate it with a passion :/ haha
Congratulations Katie! I’m so exited for you! You totally deserve it! your recipes are always super delicious.
made it this morning! delicious!! added chocolate sun warrior protein powder and it was amazing!
hi Katie! just wondering, what happened to your cinnamon roll recipe? did you delete it? I love it, but I forget how to make it, and I know that for a while you were having some issues with your pages.
Are you using google chrome? Apparently people using that browser can’t see the page… I don’t know why
. Please do let me know if that’s the browser you’re using! I’m trying to figure out clues as to why it’s happening.
no, I’m using firefox, actually. I tried it in safari, too, if that helps at all.
Can you try clearing your cache? Please report back, either way!
(And if it still doesn’t work, I can email the recipe!)
I’m so sorry, katie, I did and to no avail!! If it’s a lot of work (with this tv business, you’re probably rather busy!) you don’t have to worry about e-mailing it to me. I wish you the best of luck with all your tech problems!
Katie, I really love your blog and I love trying out new recipes you post here. This peanut butter breakfast pudding sounds (and looks!) delicious.
Anyway, I gave you an award on my blog, so check it out if you get the chance: http://melaniekristy.com/2012/02/02/awarded-a-giveaway/
<3
mmm that looks delish. Good luck with the tv thing! I have been following your blog forever and you totally deserve it
(formerly of jocelyneatsfresh)
1) This pudding looks so incredible, I can’t wait to try it out.
2) Congrats on the upcoming TV feature. That’s so awesome. Ironically I got an email earlier this evening (this isn’t nearly as cool but…) to speak on a local panel about food, cooking, food blogging and social media to a local organization. I have spoken at quite a few different universities across the country about design and illustration, I have made pitches to large agencies and clients about our work and have been interviewed by magazines and filmmakers, but somehow talking about food and a passionate hobby still kinda makes me nervous. Being in front of people and talking can be hard, knowing your being filmed or recorded can make it even more nerve wracking (IMO), but I promise, once you get going and can take a few deep cleansing breaths, it will feel totally natural and then you will never want it to stop. At least that has been my experience. Good luck, can’t wait to hear more about it.
Wonderful Katie … get your wings ready … your going to soar.
I’m so happy I was on the PCRM 21 day challenge discussion board a while back, or I would have never found ya.
Oh also, do ya think you would ever add a “printable version” to your recipes so that they are easy to print out?
It’s on my to-do list when I get a chance!
Thank you for this recipe…we LOVED it!
I’m eating this as I write. No added sweetener. Choc chips and all. Unbelievably simple and delicious.
OMG!!! I made this recipe for breakfast this morning and it was amazing (I should have expected as much)
OHMYGOSH, KATIE!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I hope they post it online so I can see it. I know you’ll do great. Your recipes are absolutely amazing, so I know they’ll love it!
Delicious! Totally making this for breakfast tomorrow
Congratulations! You deserve it! You’re awesome
I hate public speaking. I have to take a speech class for my major and I’m avoiding it like the plague! And I dread doing presentations.
I used to be the Oregon Goodwill Ambassador for Muscular Dystrophy when I was a child and they would make my sister (who was also a Goodwill Ambassador) do all these public speaking evens, news paper articles, news interviews, the MD telethon. I did it for two years and hated it. I cried every time I had to do any of it (I was a very dramatic child). I don’t cry about public speaking anymore, but I do get some pretty sexy rosacea before I talk in front of a large group.
ok, this is now my ultimate new obession! I have been eating it non stop and I cannot thank you enough for sharing such a DELISH recipe
And congratulations on the tv story!!
Hey, Katie!
This looks absolutely delicious! I’m just unsure of what T means. Tablespoons? Or was it supposed to be C for cups? I’m confused and hungry! Can you help me?
Thanks!
tablespoon
You really deserved this! Watch this space for CCK!!! xx
I’m excited to see your debut! I was already at work today when I saw your email about your TV appearance so I learned how to record remotely on my DirectTV! So when I get home tonight I will get to see your performance. Know you will do great! I love, love , love all your recipes and hearing about your life! God bless
aww thank you!
I recently had my first TV stint as well. My husband is a sports anchor so he is used to being on camera. I asked him for some pointers…..here are a couple. Don’t look at the camera….look at the person talking to you, and remember it is just a conversation you are having. you are sooo talented you will be fine, besides you are passionate about what you are talking about so let others see that!
Made this for breakfast today, but instead of a sweetener I did your “melted banana” thing – AMAZING! thank you for that tip, it’s super-delish. :3
(Oh & I LOVE all the other recipes of yours I’ve made, can’t wait to try them all; keep it up lady!)
Thanks so for much for sharing this. I made this for my kids as a snack this afternoon and they were practically LICKING their bowls, as was I! My bananas weren’t very ripe and I was low on Splenda sl I added some sugar-free caramel syrup that I use for my coffee. This was so delicious. I can’t thank you enough. Loving your blog. Thanks again!
