I used the Peanut Butter Cup Baby recipe and subbed tahini for the peanut butter. They were yummy… but the regular peanut butter ones are better.
Plus, they kind of look like meatballs 😕

Every little bit counts. I am sure The Enough Project will be very grateful for your blog donation, whatever the total came to.

I totally support this project, and I think that you are truly an amazing and selfless person. So, I’ll support it again on my blog, and click as much as I can. It’s a good thing that you have an amazing blog that is always interesting to read 😉
Melanie says
Hey Katie – Don’t listen to what other people say or think…..you have done an awesome thing! Keep up the great work girly! You rock!
Jessica says
Katie, thanks for donating the money to charity – no matter how much or how little! I’m glad I was able to take part 🙂
Kristen @ Simply Savor says
what you did is amazing!! and no matter how much money was raised…it is that much more that can go to somebody in need and make a difference 🙂 you’re an inspiration to the blogging community and should be so proud of doing such a great thing!
erintakescontrol says
There are so many worthwhile causes in this world, and it’s hard to support all of them. You took one close to your heart and came up with a unique way to market/fundraise that cause. I have no doubt in my mind that you did this with only the very best of intentions. Paul Newman said that if you have no enemies, you have no character. Haters are gonna hate, it’s their job. Let them, for they’ve got nothing better to do…but you, Katie, have much better things to do. You inspire and reach people everyday on your blog, and that is more important!

I agree with what everyone else has said – you did something to make a difference and that’s far beyond what a lot of people choose to do with their time. So hats off to you!
Diana (Soap & Chocolate) says
Oh I hope you’re not disappointed by the result of your charity project! I’m so impressed that you did it in the first place, as should be anyone else, especially the recipients of your generosity. I also think it’s entirely appropriate for you to keep the amount raised private.
Loving the idea of tahini babies–I AM a fan of tahini. I wonder if they would be delicious perhaps with raisins and cinnamon as well for some Moroccan (Mo-rockin?) flavored babies! NOM
Quix says
I’m sorry you didn’t raise as much as you wanted, but like everyone else is saying, every little bit counts.
Tahini? Hmmm, I think I’m with ya that I’d rather have PB. Or smores. Mmmmm….

Jessica @ Fit & Clean says
I went and read your previous post about the haters. I am so sorry that you had to endure that; it never ceases to amaze me at what some people will say. In this day and age, a lot of times common decency will go out the window. People just don’t CARE anymore like they used to. I think it’s admirable that you are donating that money. I think you are empowering and a nice person, and that’s why I visit your blog. It’s people like you, and a few others that inspired me to start my own! So thank you. 🙂
Heather Eats Almond Butter says
Tahini babies that look like meatballs. I love you.
Oh Katie, you are so right. ANY amount of money raised is wonderful. You are so awesome, and kind, and generous. Thank you for being you.
Love,

Cute tahini babies. Love the name. Glad your fundraising went well, although not to your goal, but as you said it all helps and goes to a good place. Keep on doing good sweetie!
Daria @ Daria Can Cook says
Like others have said, every little bit helps! And, as I’m sure you know, your supporters and well-wishers far outweigh any silly negative commenters. Keep on being you, CCK! 🙂
Jessie (Vegan-minded) says
There are always going to be people who react negatively to things, and this is one of those times. The point is, you (and most of you readers) know that you were trying to raise money for a good cause and that’s all that matters. What you are doing is amazng, and every little bit helps! 🙂
Cindy says
It doens’t matter what amount you raised…you did a fun charity drive and are generoulsy giving the funds to a good cause…feel GREAT about it!
I have to wait a few more days to try your mounds babies…I’m on a low sugar kick right now…boo…that and I am out of coconut butter products at the moment.
Good for you for using creativity and your blog to help others!
cheers!

Katie, you are always so filled with generosity, selflessness, and consideration for others. I think your project is a TERRIFIC success no matter the specific monetary value raised. The kindness and good intention with which you conducted this fundraiser are what are truly important. We all have no doubt that you are ensuring the funds contribute to making someone else’s day a little more pleasant. You are fantastic, Katie, thank you for your enduring goodwill.
Ricki says
Congrats on raising money for charity–period! Whatever the amount, it helps. 🙂
Paula says
Wow! Katie, good job! You are so sweet to start the project in the first place. Way to be a good influence to the rest of us. I really like your thoughtful tahini HETB inspired babies. 🙂
candice says
Whoa, MaraNatha makes tahini? Interesting! I’ve never seen it before. Is it bitter? And haha, tahini meatballs 😀
I understand your reluctance to do another “Operation CCK”-type project. Some people are just so… errrgh. I won’t mind clicking around though, especially for all the baaaby pictures 😉

Congratulations on whatever amount of money you raised for your charity! I did place a special post for your charity drive on my blog and I know my friends and family were talking about it. I think it was a really great thing that you did and I would be more than happy to promote it annually for you 🙂
Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) says
Congrats Katie on your Charity Drive and your success..whatever amount of money you raised was a success! however, I totally understand not wanting to post the amount for the variety of reasons that you laid out. It’s hard to believe us bloggers actually have a “private side” but I can completely agree that sometimes you just don’t need all the attention and hype and extra comments…ahem…that can come with that 🙂 I totally understand!
Anyway much love to you and we’re off to the airport in a few hours!
xoxo

CaSaundra says
Even just the idea of doing it is GREAT Katie–it’s the thought that counts, and even if you made just a dollar, I am sure it would be appreciated and put to good use.
Little Bookworm says
Congrats on charity drive. 🙂
Deb says
Katie- I think it’s nothing short of marvelous that you donated anything at all. And also wise that you don’t divulge numbers as people can get hung up on them. Kudos to you for being kind and thinking of others.
Also, if you make some Tahini balls, you can send them to HETB and she can feed them to CD b/c we all know how much the boy loves his meatballs! 🙂
Kelly says
It’s so trite, but really, every little bit *does* help. And who knows; maybe you’ve inspired others to give a little extra this holiday season… kindness is catching! No matter the numbers, I think you get an A+++ for effort. 🙂
