Soy-Free Love Potion

Remember middle school, when “going out” with someone meant his dad would drive him to meet you—and your mom—at the movies?

Today I was thinking back to middle school, the time when girls discover that whole “boys have cooties” thing is a lie. My mind wandered through first crushes to first kisses to first dates.

After my run, I extended the love-on-the-brain theme into breakfast: with a Lavender love potion parfait. The cream is my Healthy Whipped Cream blended with blueberries; lavender refers only to the color, not the taste.

Soy Free Lavender Cream

(Makes 1 1/2 cups: one Katie-sized serving!)

  • sweetener of choice
  • 1/16th tsp salt
  • handful blueberries
  • scant 2 1/2 tbsp water (20g)
  • 3 drops coconut extract, optional but recommended
  • 1/2 serving agar base (recipe linked below)

Instructions: First, make up the agar base. When it’s cooled, put 1/2 of it in a blender (or Magic Bullet) with all the other ingredients and blend away.  Whip very well. I like to put it in the freezer for a few minutes prior to eating, so it’s super-cold.

See original cream post for Nutrition Information.

For the parfait, I simply layered cooked oatmeal, cacao nibs, and the cream.

Question of the Day:
Do you remember your first kiss?

I am sorry to say, mine was not “Hollywood movie” romantic. Actually it was mortifying! I was in 7th grade, at a friend’s birthday party.

A bunch of us were sitting in her backyard, including my boyfriend at the time. Suddenly, everyone starts chanting, “Kiss kiss kiss!” Because so few of my friends were in relationships at such a young age, they decided that others’ relationships were their business; it was like Gossip Girl. Ugh. Anyway, the guy leans in, and I get all nervous. I scream, “Don’t kiss me, I have taco breath!” :-?Mortifying with a capital M. (But in the end, he kissed me anyway lol.)

  1. Ohmygoodness this looks absolutely delightful! Perfect for Valentine’s day :)

    First kisses….ahhhh….you can’t forget those 😉

    1. Sylvana says:

      Well… I don’t remember mine. :)

  2. ellis says:

Eek, my first kiss! I wish I could repress that memory. Or eternal-sunshine it. Or whatever. I was 17 and a late bloomer, sitting next to a boy in a park after we had gone to a movie, and all of a sudden he was KISSING me. I had NO idea how we went from just sitting there to making out. And it was pretty bad, as make-out sessions go.

    1. haha glad I’m not the only one with a not-so-romantic first experience! :)

  3. What a pretty parfait! And I love love love the flowers next to it too :)

I was 23 when I got my first kiss. Yes I am not kidding. It was from my husband on our first date. I was always so awkward about men (still am!) and avoided kissing, dating, dancing, anything. I was practically a nun.

    1. Mary says:

I’m still waiting for my first kiss, and I’m in my twenties! But I’m glad I didn’t waste the experience on some loser. I’m waiting for the right guy, like you seem to have done! :)

      1. elsie says:

WHEW. okay. not the only one. Hehe :)

    2. Rachel W says:

me too im so awkward and picky about guys i am 22 and havent had a boyfriend yet because im waiting for someone super special :-) ..comforting to know u guys are with me on this! my friends can be so pressuring.. oh katie that parfait looks SCRUMPTIOUS! i must make that soon. xxxooo

    3. Jessica says:

Aww I had my first kiss at 23 too! :) And yes, it was awkward, and yes, he’s now my husband… Would’ve had it any other way!! :-)

      1. I loved reading all of these comments — I was so nervous to send my comment that my first kiss was at 23 — but I feel much better. As corny as it sounds, I am so glad it worked out the way it did.

      2. Doesn’t sound corny at all! You can say yours was a GOOD experience. Whereas me? I was embarrassed for the next three years, reliving the memory lol.

  4. Girl this brought back so many middle school memories! Haha I remember the days of having to meet up with them and their parents, so much more chivalrous:)

Yay I love bloobs and your agar pudding, blueberries are next on the list!

  5. Ugh, I do…slobbery and gross! I have been sick (getting over it) for 2 weeks now. My husband and I don’t kiss when we are sick (I feel so guilty spreading germs)…I miss kissing him. This was a cute post and dang that parfait looks good!

  6. I do remember mine vaguely…it was freshman year of high school with my “boyfriend.” hehe.

  7. VeggieGirl says:

I try to forget my first kiss, hahaha 😀

  8. Leslie says:

Wow those photos put the V in Vibrant! Kinda like the M in Mortifying? Cute story :).

  9. Wow this looks SO good! a very photogenic creation 😉

  10. ps: do you like making recipes soy free because of allergy prone people or bc of the soy/health debate?

    1. I don’t “like” making them soy-free, per se. But if one just happens to be soy-free, I’m excited to promote that fact, because I know a lot of other people DO avoid soy :).

  11. Molly says:

    Hi Katie,

I have been reading your blog for quite some time now, but I have never written anything on it (or anyone else’s for that matter). I feel a little weird because I don’t even know you, but I wanted to say that I think you sound like one of the kindest, smartest, and liveliest persons I have never met! I am also in college, but I really admire your positive attitude and natural vigor for life and animals. This sounds silly, but I have a lot of trouble making friends, and I truly wish I knew you in person! Thank you for being you!

    1. can I just say I agree with this :p? I especially admire your positive outlook! (I read your post about the D word and no-one expects you to be overly happy 100% of the time, don’t worry!, but it’s just hpw you come across).

      1. Aw Sabine, I’ve always thought you come across as a super-sweetie… who takes the best iphone pictures known to man ;).

      2. Haha I know right I don’t know how it’s possible with an iPhone for the life of me. and thank you, I don’t think I get the description ‘nice’ all that often, although I am a nice girl, I am just too straight forward and opinionated to come across as one often 😉

    2. Oh Molly, wow. I don’t even know what to say. I can’t believe how sweet your comment is! Truly, oh my gosh thank you!!! I think this is one of the kindest comments I’ve ever received. Sending mucho love (and chocolate hugs) your way :).

  12. agar agar? that sounds like some kind of song chorus.. agar agar-rah-rah-yeah
or not.. idk why my mind comes up with weird associations like that..
ive never used agar before -seems pretty darn handy though!

  13. Love the colour of that cream, and your breakfast looks really pretty too! :)

  14. Eric Jaffa says:

Does “Sports Store Hottie” know that’s his name on this blog?

    1. I never told him about the blog; I don’t know if he knows about it or not.

  15. Gen says:

    This looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Haha mine wasn’t romantic either! It was 9th grade, at a football game, with a guy I didn’t totally like, and we knocked teeth! It was also in front of my friends…pretty embarrassing 😛

  17. Gloria says:

I don’t remember my first kiss… but I remember kissing my 4th grade boyfriend a few times! We would always play hide and seek in the woods with our friends and he made sure we hid together 😉 I was 9!!! ahhhh! My kids are never leaving the house!! Hahaha

  18. Jennifer JCD says:

At least the lavendar sundae is dreamy enough to overcome such morifying memories.

My first kiss was with my now-husband. We were walking in the park on a snowy February morning and sat down on a picnic table by the (frozen) lake. It was so sweet.

  19. eatandrun says:

    Prettiest breakfast ever!

  20. Tehe, cute story, but I’m definitely not sharing mine :)

  21. nadia says:

WAAAOWW!! that’s beautiful!!!. Can wait to try it. I also have some actual lavender and will throw some in there I think…

    1. There’s actually a gelato place near my house that sells lavender gelato. It’s not vegan, so I never tried it. But I’ve always been curious!

      1. nadia says:

mm that sounds great. I love lavender and always put it in tea but I cant wait to try it in cooking. thanks for the idea!

  22. Heather says:

Fortunately, or unfortunately, I had the reputation of being pretty feisty in Jr. High/Middle School…so any potential kisses were thwarted by the fear of receiving a punch from me. I actually had a couple of guys admit this to me years later. Hilarious!

  23. Devan says:

that looks amazing! and beautifully photographed !!
I remember my first kiss. Kindergarden.. I had a HUGE crush on a little red head and dared myself to go up and kiss him.. I did <3
he kissed me in grade 6 !! haha

    1. Hahahaha you were a fast-moving girlie lol! I had a lot of boy friends in kindergarten… but I didn’t see them as romantic interests at all. Maybe that was because they played barbies with me and one even dressed up in a girls’ bathing suit when we went swimming? Poor guy, he was probably scarred for life :-?.

  24. Albizia says:

What a pretty dessert! Really nice for your significant other on Valentines day. Unfortunately, I’ve been single for way too long.

My first real kiss was when I was 18 and it was very romantic if we don’t count the fact that I made sure to let the poor guy know it was my first kiss (i.e. I was laaame!). It was a sunny summer day in the park. We sat on a bench beside the sea and he just kissed me very gently. He didn’t deserve a dork like me 😀 .

    1. I disagree 100%. Any guy is lucky to have you. Really.

  25. Oh my gosh…. I had not thought about this in a long time! My first kiss was the summer going into 5th grade (or maybe 6th?) and my “boyfriend” at the time and I were at a friends house over the summer and they dared us to kiss so we did on their porch… but I just barely touched his lips I was so nervous… he replied “what the heck” so I nervously tried again…. mortifying!

    1. elsie says:

AHH…your story kind of made me giggle, & his [mean] response of ‘what the heck.’ i can just imagine a 5th grade boy saying something like that. :)

  26. Jenny says:

Oh my gosh… What a lovely colour! Truly does look like lavender. Don’t doubt that it tasted as amazing as it looks!

I was wondering – have you ever tried making the agar base with just water rather than milk? Does it just turn out like a clear Jell-o like creation? And being allergic to coconut… do you think I could add vanilla and get a similar taste? Or is the coconut flavour that you add with the extract quite unique?

Anyway… looks FABulous! Very nice photography in this post as well. :) Pretty colours~

    1. I haven’t, but you can definitely do it with water! The only thing you CAN’T do it with is a citrus juice, like orange. The acid interacts with the agar.
Haha I use imitation coconut extract (sacrilege, I know), so I don’t even know if it has coconut in it! But of course you can use a different extract. Try peppermint, vanilla, or even almond or maple!

  27. Thinking about crushes/boys DOES make working out flyyy by! Especially when you are at the gym and that one particular one is about 15 feet away…………………..
My first kiss was summer after 7th grade. We were on a cruise ship and had been hanging out all week. It all culminated in my first kiss, where he leaned in, hovered, and took the plunge.
    And missed my lips.

  28. Oh gosh – my first kiss was a spin the bottle experience. So embarassing.

    1. Ack! Spin the bottle… somehow, we always managed to play that when there were way more girls than guys! So you ended up kissing the same guy all the time. Which, I guess was pretty cool from the guy’s point of view!

  29. Sable says:

HA! Love your first kiss story. I am pretty sure mine involved teeth… :-X

The pics of your parfait are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

  30. This looks so good! And so pretty, the color is beautiful!

My first kiss was so terrible/ embarrassing I don’t think I’ll share it with anyone for a long time… haha.

    1. Yeah, I’m kinda embarrassed that I shared mine lol!

  31. I love that you said don’t kiss me I have taco breath! That cracked me up. :-) I totally remember the co-ed middle school parties. Too funny.

  32. Jen S. says:

Oh, that looks so scrumptious! Someday I’ll be able to eat oats again, and when I can, this is the first thing on my list!

My first kiss? Ick. The person, that is. I thought he was awesome but he turned out to be slime. The kiss itself was okay. So much better kissing someone I love with every cell in my body! =)

  33. Oh I like whipped cream like substances.

And I LOVE reading all these first kiss stories. My first kiss was with my high school boyfriend, Adam. We were freshmen who attended the same school and swam together, so we had ALL of the same friends and spent ALL our time together. EVERYONE knew about and/or helped him plan the kiss. He decided to do it at a school dance, and it was so cute because all my friends were coming up to me and telling me the advice they had given him. After the last slow song, he held my hands, leaned in, and kissed me quickly on the lips. Aw. It was so magical!

    1. Aw, see, THAT’S the stuff of movies! *jealous* lol 😉

  34. That looks so PRETTY! All your food does of course, and your photography is AMAZING!

My first kiss was in kindergarten for a dare. So not the most romantic experience of my life! 😛

P.S. You HAVE to do a post for the chocolate raspberry fudge cake, so everyone can enjoy it’s complete AMAZINGNESS!! So SO good you Chocolate Covered Genius! (<—you should change your blog name to that! :P)

    1. Love you, Emma. Really. I’m thinking of moving to the UK just so I can see you (and get away from this ugly weather here).

      1. Naww I love you too Katie! Please move here!! We can run together and eat fudge babies as we go :)

  35. Sarahishealthy says:

    That is beautiful, Katie!
As for kisses… well, I’ve kissed my puppies. Does that count? 😉

  36. Serena says:

This looks great! I have to remember to make more agar base! I always just forget but it’s actually so flipping easy…argh 😛
Anyway, I wanted to comment on your other post because I am one of the few people who actually think the chocolate cake in Matilda looks DELISH. It looks so rich and gooey and chocolatey. I’m like you in the sense that I want my chocolate to be rich and full flavored. So most chocolate cakes are a disappointment… but when they’re thick and gooey, I love ’em!

    1. That’s why I love chocolate mousse pie… it’s kinda chocolate cake, while still being rich and luxurious :).

  37. what a beautiful looking breakfast! omg. my first kiss was in 8th grade and it was outside of a movie theater. it was a nice kiss but my mother saw me from her car in the parking lot when she came to pick me up oops! she didn’t tell me until a year later and she said “how did you know how to do that?!” lol

    1. abby says:

oh no! i would’ve been mortified! but so funny!

  38. my first kiss? Does a boy running up to you, kissing you on the cheek on the playground in the 6th grade and being so dumbfounded you dont have any idea what just happened..if that counts, yes, that was mine :) I wasn’t even really aware it was even happening….lol

The pics are awesome on this post…love the flowers!

    1. abby says:

that was my first kiss too. dunno why they run away after… maybe they think we’re going to beat them up for kissing us? i thought it was yucky. but later on, i started to like the guy. he never kissed me again :(.

  39. bitt says:

A question about the recipe, is it meant to have lavendar? If so where does that come in? I’ve been scared to add lavender to any of my food but getting up the nerve.

My first kiss was far from memorable and I don’t even remember his name. Oh well, the first kiss with my now husband was memorable that’s the one that matters to me.

    1. Nope, the lavender refers only to the color. I’ve never tried anything truly-lavender… I wouldn’t even know where to buy it! I guess people grow their own…

  40. abby says:

still waiting for my prince charming. i had a first kiss, but it was so bad i pretend it didn’t happen!

  41. Tricia says:

I have yet to be kissed lol, but i’m only in high school so who knows? Maybe soon :)

  42. Alyson says:

I remember my first kiss! It was with my playmate in like 2nd grade! It was on the cheek, but it still counts. Silly, silly, silly! I remember all the things that I did as a kid that were so silly! Just because I had a crush on someone… :)
Also, that Love Potion looks like heaven! 😉
    Mucho amor mi amiguita,

  43. Anna says:

Katie, I really love your blog!! I discovered it some weeks ago and now I’m waiting every day for your great recipes!

Sadly it’s not that easy to get all ingredients here in Germany – for example coconut butter (never seen here) or other nut butters! :( So I try to make my own – already made coconut-, cashew- and peanut butter. Yummy!

I also have a question: What is coconut / vanilla extract? I googled vanille extract – and it is described as 35%alcool flavoured with vanilla. Is this what you use?

    1. Aw thanks so much, Anna!
I asked my mom, and she said that when she lived in England, it was called “vanilla essence.” Maybe it just has a different name over in Europe?

      1. Anna says:

Ah yes, now I found an article about the different names in UK/US/Europe :) Thank you so much!

I’ll ask in “my” wholefood shop” if they sell it – otherwise I have to search in a bigger supermarket. But before I’ll try with some Vanilla Powder I brought from a lovely shop in Paris – I think it’s not of the same intense – but it’s still Vanilla and i LOVE Vanilla :)

  44. Namaste Gurl says:

I’ve never tried yogurt or smoothie parfaits layered with cooked oatmeal! I use raw oats or buckwheat groats a lot, but never cooked. Thanks for reminding me to do so :)

Where do you get your parfait glass, by the way? I broke mine recently and haven’t been able to find a sub ANYWHERE!

    1. Shhh don’t tell my mom, but I used one of her fine china glasses ;). (I’m just kidding about the “don’t tell her” part; she knows I used it.)

  45. Oooh, that looks tasty! I love parfaits :)

My first kiss was when I was 15. It was actually kind of cute! Definitely not as bad as I would have expected my first to be :)

  46. I can’t find agar flakes anywhere near me, but know that powdered gelatin is a *non-vegan* substitute for it. I am definitely trying this tonight after my date with the tread mill. Darn snow :(

And my first kiss was in pre-school. Tsk tsk.

  47. carolinebee says:

MAJORRR LOL, my first kiss was totally at the movies that my dad had dropped us off at 😀 SO AWK!! it was raining and my friends were huddled across the little towne center food court just waiting for me, aka watching us….gotta love it! :)

    1. LOL yeah, friends always thought it was fun to watch such things. Weird to the extreme… and awkward. Middle schoolers apparently don’t know about privacy!

  48. That is the most beautiful parfait I’ve ever seen! Purple makes me happeh!!!!

    1. Oh my gosh, I didn’t even think about it; I should’ve dedicated this parfait to YOU!

      1. Hehehehe a Purple Bird Parfait!! Nice ring to it! 😉

  49. Kathleen says:

OHMYGOSH KATIE!!!! I want that love potion right now!!! :)

  50. Rachael says:

Echoing the late bloomer thoughts – I had just turned eighteen, and the paramour was a Russian guy who barely spoke English…somehow that was very attractive to me!
I bet you could infuse your blueberries with a little actual lavender syrup to further the theme…

    1. When I was in high school, there was a Russian dance troup who came to preform. I think every single girl at my school had a crush on them!

  51. My 1st kiss was awkard and thats all I’m saying! This looks so beautiful, and purple is my fave color!

  52. emma says:

Sweetheart! How are you lovely? i just used your “Healthier choc cake” recipe to make a fun cake for my man! Come and take a look! I gave you a shout out….well to my 2 or 3 readers :-(

  53. BroccoliHut says:

Ooh! Great recipe! I am a huge fan of coconut extract–I find myself adding it to everything from smoothies to pancakes, to oat bran!
My first kiss was not all that long ago–Seth was my first!

  54. Hahaha taco breath? That’s hilarious!

My first kiss was freshman year of high school during the Lizzie McGuire movie. With a 7th grader. Yeah, I’m cool.

  55. Camille says:

Oh dear… my first kiss was with a boy I met on vacation in Hawaii. He was the start of my thing for older guys. I want to say that I was about to go in to my Sophomore year of High School and he was about to start his Freshman year of college. Oh man, good times?

  56. Hannah says:

Gorgeous photos! Though you should try actual lavendar some time – I adore it (when used subtly!) in sweet things :)

First proper kiss? Rather unpleasantly slobbery… poor boy didn’t know what he was doing!

    1. Do you grow your own? I don’t think I’ve ever seen lavender!

      1. Hannah says:

Well, my parents have it in the garden but I wouldn’t use that! Culinary lavender is available in culinary/gourmet stores :)

  57. Blueberries are clearly the best berry, so this sounds great. I’ve never seen cooked oatmeal in a parfait – very interesting!
And I don’t even want to talk or think about my first kiss haha. I prefer to leave embarrassing teenage memories buried deep in the back of my mind. I love how you think you’re so smart and awesome as a teen and are positive that you will never think otherwise and that the adults you know are just idiots. And then a few years pass, and you look back and can’t believe what a fool you were! Well ok, at least this is what happened to me.

    1. I’m just glad I’m not the only one who had an embarrassing experience lol!

  58. Brandie says:

HAHAHAHAhahaha! I am cracking up at your taco breath story! Yes I remember my first kiss – I was 17 or 18 (late I know, very strict upbringing!), one of my friend’s had a new boyfriend (her first too!) and they and I and one of his friends started hanging out all the time and I thikn I felt like I was supposed to “go out” with him cause we were the two odd ones out? Lol, not sure, but anyway, we were all hanging at the local Jr College (no idea why now…we were just loitering?) and he kissed me – I was terrified! Ack! Looking back now it’s like “Um, THAT was a big deal? Yeah ok.” Lol!

The parfait looks FREAKING AMAZING, you are incredible! I want to make this now! Though I don’t have blueberries, I think I’ll do it with strawberries and have a red/pink valentines parfait! (Though I haven’t got a cool clear glass like that to put one in anyway so I suppose it doesn’t matter what color it is!! Ha!)

  59. Cat says:

Such a beautiful looking brekkie!! Oh dear, my first kiss was um awkward to say the least. The only thing I distinctly remember is my face getting so so hot from embarassment/nerves in general that I thought I was going to start sweating. I was convinced everyone was going to see my red face and immediately know a boy had kissed me!

  60. Quix says:

My first real kiss was at 16, out the door of a car as I was leaving for gymnastics practice. The schmuck broke up with me 3 weeks later, but oh well. It’s for the best. I think he ended up being a plumber or something.

And, um, your blog makes me SUPER drool. That is all. :)

    1. Hahahahaha lol at “I think he ended up being a plumber or something.” Too funny :).

  61. Kristie says:

Parfait perfection right there. It’s gorgeous!
I really need to NOT catch up on your blog posts right before bed. Every single one I just read was completely mouth watering and now I’m hungry. And I just saved a stack of them. More CCK recipe adventuers in my near future, that’s for sure!

Taco breath, haha that’s too cute. My first was pretty late, 18 or 19 and the story isn’t that exciting but it was aided by a little liquid courage and was with someone I liked at the time so it was a good one! My FIRST first kiss was kindergarten though. Some boy in my class begged me and we kissed while hiding between the big theatre curtains of our school stage. I was so easily persuaded at such a tender young age hehe.

    1. LOL kindergarten, huh? You fast mover! 😉

  62. haha, first kiss…a memory I try not to remember often, sure not the way I dreamed about, oh well. :)

  63. PurpleGirl says:

Haha. My first kiss happened this summer… Well, there was one when I was 5 but that doesn’t count. Anyway, I went swimming at night with a couple friends and a semi-date. He didn’t go swimming. After I got out of the water, I was going to go home, and the guy was like, “Come here. I don’t care if you’re wet.” Bad sign right there. I thought he was going to hug me, so I turned my head at the last minute and he got my ear. Gross.

  64. Nicole says:

Your pictures are looking so beautiful! :) This looks delicious… I know what i’m gonna do with all the agar I have at home 😉

My first kiss… I was set up with this boy by my cousin when I was about 15 and I thought it was more like set up to just go talk or something but… well, apparently I was mistaken… I don’t “regret” it exactly but I got nothing from it, really (I wasn’t attracted ot him or anything!) so itw as kind of anticlimactic.

  65. hahaha im sorry! your story is too cute and hilarious! I can just imagine little Katie with a frightened look on her face~ Errr let’s just say that mine was against my will and blechhhhh! And doggone it I always thought that I was going to have it on my wedding day! But I AM proud to say that it didn’t happen till waaayyyyy later in life. 😛 Maybe this is TMI???

    1. No, not tmi! I love hearing everyone else’s stories :).

  66. michelle says:

I blocked mine out. Totally necessary but I am all over this parfait.

  67. Leanne says:

FINALLY a soy-free, dairy free yogurt/cream alternative woop! (my body likes neither!)

Read your blog everyday Katie and love love love your recipes, thank you so much!

  68. EatLiveRun says:

simple beautiful, Katie! I’m definitely going to try this!

    1. Aw thanks, Jenna :). I have SO many of your recipes bookmarked to try, it’s insane. My only problem is trying to decide which to make first!

  69. Tiph says:

Wow! I just stumbled on your site via Pinterest for your cookie dough dip… and have very much enjoyed looking through your other recipes! I must say, this one in particular, looks amazing! (and I *love* the color! – my fav!) Thank you so much for the time & energy you’ve put into this site! It’s awesome! :)

P.S- (re:first kiss) – Mine & DH’s first kisses were with eachother… we were 19 & 20. It just hit midnight on New Years Eve/Day… and we were standing at the end of a lovely country lane watching fireworks. It was very special. Our next one saying goodbye two days later. After that – though we knew were meant to be together, and had no regrets over the first two instances – we decided it would be more special to wait. So our next kiss was shared at the alter, on our wedding day… 16 mos later. <3

    1. Awww that is SUCH an incredibly sweet story!

  70. Danae says:

Bet this parfait would be good with cooked quinoa too!! :)

  71. Zoe Williams says:

Is there any substitute for agar?

  72. Cristay says:

This looks so incredibly good! My first kiss was a horrible experience! I was coaxed into it and the guy was terrible! My 2nd kiss was much better haha.

You should actually try this with lavender in it! I know it sounds crazy but lavender is HEAVENLY in desserts when it’s used sparingly. And you know what it tastes best with? Blueberries and dark chocolate! :) If you think I’m bat sh*t crazy, then try this first because it is divine:

so I made this for my after run breakfast this morning, with strawberries and topped with chocolate banana butter and chocolate chips….OH MY Katie this was delicious. Thanks for this recipe, it was also my first time with agar agar and I love it just wish it wasn’t so expensive.

    1. Thank you so much for trying it!

Hi Katie :3 Im new to your website but i just want to say everything looks fantastic amd i am so excited to try them some day when my fear of food isnt so very bad.
but i had my first kiss about 6 months ago (and i turn 16 in less than two weeks lol). it was actually very sweet but kind of a long story aNd i dont wanna be boring ^.^ long story short, i was newly out of the hospital for anorexia and self harm; he came to talk to me to see how i was doing, we talked and he asked me out. we walked and sat under this giant tree and it was getting dark and i had to go home. he asked for one more thing and when i turned to look at him he was leaning in o.o” my heart was racing a million miles a second! And he noticed, lol.

I actually do NOT remember my first kiss or who it was with, but i remember my husband’s first kiss. It was a few days before we got married. He was 28 years old. I think its so sweet to think about.

My first kiss was by my future husband . . . I was so nervous when he leaned in to kiss me I shoved a candy bar in my mouth . . . Very embarrassing . . . It ended up being a fun experience though :)

I did never really kiss a boy because I am single since birth (except for a faux-relationship with a cute gay boy in 6th grade, but that doesn’t count), but maybe I will seduce some cute guy with your love potion 😉
Thinking about boys as an activity while running seems also nice and I will try it today :) I am always really shy around boys so I don’t have any male friends :( you seem to be very good with other people, do you have any tips?

    1. Haha I don’t know… I’m only not shy around people I’ve known for a long time. Otherwise I am pretty shy too! I think it’s normal to be shy around new people, especially guys ;).

Mine happened when I was 17, and had just begun dating this guy who was a few years older. I’d never really thought about exactly how kissing was done as I was a real-life late-blooming bookworm, but figured it couldn’t be too complex in the moment. However, I underestimated. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, when all of a sudden it was like I was being attacked by his face! ( I’ll spare you the details) It hit me that he was trying to make-out, so I did what any freaked-out bookworm would do… I tensed up every muscle in my face and jumped back- only I accidentally spit in his! oops.
