We were so busy running around with my cousins that by the time Easter came, there was very little time to cook. I’d planed on making a carrot cake for Easter, but due to the time constraints, I welcomed my mom’s idea of ordering something from Spiral Diner. The apple pie we chose didn’t disappoint.
When my aunt put a can of Redi-Whip on the table, cute little Abby asked for Soyatoo instead!

Apple pie makes a dark world bright!

The last photo is so cute. It was fun with the name of my blog. I love all your vegan blogs, and last week I came up for a name for mine and thought “this is it! I’m going vegan”. If only to be able to use the name, haha.
Your apple pie looks sooo good, I wish I had some now 🙂
And I’ve never tried carrot cake! never in my life! I need to change that!

What’s the Spiral Diner?
I’d like some pie too with lots of Soyatoo on top.
Vegan_Noodle says
Spiral Diner to the rescue!!! Your cousin must have really shook that soyatoo can pretty rigorously to get all of that out!
Nice editing on that last photo… did you do that in photoshop?
Jennifer says
Your pictures are always so cute!
I love that your cousins opted for Soyatoo. I hope to see that in my neck of the woods at some point!

So I’m guessing Spiral Diner is a place that has a vegan bakery. That sounds awesome. I wish I could get vegan apple pie here!

The pie looks yummy–seems you’ve had more luck with Soyatoo than I did (it wouldn’t work for me–had to throw out the whole can!). And that last photo–absolutely lovely. 🙂

Do you go to Spiral Diner often? I’ve really wanted to go there for the longest time, but I live in Austin and we never go up to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. That pie sure looks delicious!

Apple pie and soyatoo. Sounds perfect. I do understand Charly. Whenever I have some soyatoo at home I eat a lot of it.

Ha ha ha, I love the giant mound of Soyatoo! That’s exactly how Soyatoo should be eaten, IMO, a giant mound of it on top of a gorgeous apple pie – perfect!

How funny! I was just in Dallas for Easter weekend, and took the opportunity to go to Spiral Diner for the first time! I half wondered if I might spot you there, since I remembered you were from Dallas. I love your blog. It’s always so fun!

Thanks, everyone. As usual, your sweet comments are very, very much appreciated.
Cindy– No, I didn’t see them on Good Morning America. That’s exciting that GMA featured a vegan restaurant! Oh, and let me know how your daughter likes Spiral! My cousins loved it (I’ll post pictures soon, I hope!).
Robin– you are so sweet. Thank you!
Jill– LOL my mom actually said to me, “Maybe someone will recognize you!” When did you go to Spiral? I was there on Saturday. Oh, but I was at the one in Ft. Worth, so never mind. Plus, if we had been there at the same time, you DEFINITELY wouldn’t have missed me, because my little cousins were throwing broccoli at each other! Yikes!

I WANT THAT APPLE PIE!! How’s the crust like? I like shortbread crusts, the kind that just crumbles like a huge fat butter cookie in my mouth.
I need the recipe!!!
