When I’m at home, I have about 6 or 7 favorite running routes from which to choose on any given day. This offers me the variety I crave while still providing the dependability I need. Especially on school days, it’s important to know the ins and outs of my route so as to ensure I won’t get completely lost and thus be late to class… or be forced to scarf down breakfast at lightning speed (a terrible fate, doncha think?) Of course, I throw in little variations, such as turning down a new street or changing up the order of the route. But let’s face it: There are only so many different ways you can go when the starting point remains the same (my house). And normally, this doesn’t bother me. The consistency is comforting. As that sagacious Ross says on Friends, “Nobody likes change.”
Except that sometimes we do.
As much as I love my predictable running routes, it’s nice to shake things up a bit, every now and then, to discover new sights. One of the best aspects of running is that you can do it almost anywhere, and on no two running trails will you see the exact same things. So I’m always excited to try a new path when I go on vacation.
(My all-time favorite run was experienced while I was on vacation in Monaco.)
(Fairy-tale princess run? Yes please.)

I woke up this morning to a bright blue sky—the perfect weather for exploring a new town. But perhaps my adventure was a little too much fun, because about 40 minutes in, I suddenly realized: Hey, I have no idea how to get home from here! Oops…
No worries. Being a girl, I had no problem asking a passerby for directions. 😉 Therefore, my run was only a little bit longer than usual. (And luckily there was no class to worry about!)
But maybe next time I should bring along a loaf of Ezekiel bread… just in case!

I must say, your alfredo sauce/soup looks quite divine! I wish I had some fettuccine noodles so they could have a party with that sauce!
Hahaha, I would have FREAKED if I got lost 40 minutes into a run, and I’m sure you run really fast so that means you were really really far away… I’m very glad you found your way back, though!

Aww Chocolate covered mom is so lucky to have such a sweet daughter like you! I love the alfredo soup bath, you are hilarious 😉 I must try it and discover why all the veggies are begging to take a dip in it.

I love your cupcake posts and here is my first attempt at posting about decorating: http://artemiscloverphoto.com/main.php. They aren’t vegan (even though I am) because I made them from a box. Hey, baby steps!
