Chocolate Covered Katie is one of the top 25 food websites in America, and Katie has been featured on The Today Show, CNN, Fox, The Huffington Post, and ABC's 5 O'clock News. Her favorite food is chocolate, and she believes in eating dessert every single day.
I made a batch of these a few weeks ago, except I cut them into brownies. They’re delicious and I’m glad they’re making a comeback. Thanks for including the nut-free link, I didn’t realize you had a nut-free version!
Also, congratulations! I’ve watched your Dr. Oz show appearance, and I’m sure you’ll do great on this show as well.
Congratulations, that is fantastic! I keep hoping you will have a Food Network show someday. With veganism and healthy cooking going mainstream and since dessert will always be in style, there’s such a need for more content like yours in the cooking show space. And you are so adorable that you would rock a cooking show!
In the meantime I’ll be trying these fudge babies for sure. Thanks for all the recipes!
These are probably my favourite thing. I love nakd bars (I think Americans call them Lara bars) but I’m trying to cut back on plastic wastage and save ?. Does anyone know how you could package these as snacks to take on the go?
They would be similar to larabars in terms of shelf life, so a few weeks refrigerated or in a tupperware container on the counter, or yes you can freeze them.
I just made a full batch tonight and tried a coconut-covered one. Yum! If my husband agrees, I’ll make several dozen for his coworkers for tomorrow for Valentine’s Day.
Hi Katie, I made these with my kids last night, and since it’s Valentine’s Day we used heart-shape cookie cutters and decorated them with colorful things. We also made a few balls and dipped them in dried-strawberry powder. Oh my, so pretty and sooo yummy!! Thanks so much!

Just throw them in a bag or in a tupperware container!

I love fudge babies!!!! How exciting about USA Today. I plan on watching.
Janette says
These looks so good do you add anything to the variations or just the variations ingredients?
Jason Sanford says
For the variations, just use exactly what’s listed in the variations (so don’t use the original recipe’s ingredient amounts at all).
Linda @ the Fitty says
If I were to use oil in this recipe, would you suggest coconut oil, or butter?
Jason Sanford says
What would you be using the oil in place of? I’m confused.

Would like to make the mint chocolate version you mentioned. Can you add that version to the post. Can’t wait to try it.
Jason Sanford says
https://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/03/10/thin-mint-brownies/ It’s very similar to the regular chocolate version, just add some pure peppermint extract. Start small because a little goes a long way!

how long do these keep? and can i freeze them? they look amazing 🙂 !

They would be similar to larabars in terms of shelf life, so a few weeks refrigerated or in a tupperware container on the counter, or yes you can freeze them.
