Easy High Protein Snack Fluff
pin-it

The best protein fluff recipe

With just 3 ingredients, this high protein treat is so simple to prepare.

It packs 18 grams of protein in a half cup, or over 100 grams of protein if you want to enjoy it all in one thick and fluffy giant serving!

And the best part is that, unlike many other protein fluff recipes, this one calls for no xanthan gum or guar gum.

Plus, the recipe contains no ice cubes to dilute the rich chocolate flavor.

Chocolate protein fluff ingredients

Chocolate protein powder – Go with any favorite chocolate protein powder or protein shake mix. I am partial to plant based pea protein or pumpkin seed protein.

The recipe works with brown rice, hemp, egg white, soy, casein, or whey protein.

Cocoa powder – Two tablespoons of Dutch process or unsweetened cocoa powder add a richer chocolate taste to the finished chocolate protein bowl. Or you can use powdered hot chocolate.

Yogurt – Any vanilla Greek yogurt is fine here, including vegan Greek yogurt.

If you only have plain yogurt on hand, add a few drops of pure vanilla extract to the fluff before whipping.

Non Greek yogurts work too. The results are just a bit thinner and not as fluffy.

Sweetener – Taste and add sweetener of choice as needed. I used unsweetened yogurt and sweetened protein powder and found that two tablespoons of sugar was the perfect amount for my own tastes.

Feel free to add pure maple syrup, coconut sugar, honey, or a no sugar option like stevia, monk fruit, or allulose if you prefer.

Some people using sweetened yogurt may find that they do not need any additional sweetener at all.

Optional ingredients – Stir in a pinch of cinnamon, some chopped roasted pecans, or a tablespoon almond butter or cashew butter.

Garnish the bowls with fresh berries, sliced bananas, pomegranate seeds, oat granola clusters, or shaved dark chocolate.

Or decorate with a drizzle of Homemade Nutella

Peanut butter fluff: Add three tablespoons of peanut flour, or buy chocolate peanut butter protein powder. Top with a generous scoop of creamy or crunchy peanut butter.

Cookies and cream: Opt for a cookies and cream protein powder, and garnish the bowl with crushed Oreos or chocolate sandwich cookies.

Mint chocolate chip: Stir a fourth teaspoon of pure peppermint extract into the chocolate protein mixture. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and mini chocolate chips.

Chocolate covered strawberry: Stir in a scoop of freeze dried strawberries. Add sliced berries to each bowl before serving, or dip fresh strawberries into the fluff.

Vanilla protein fluff: For a non chocolate version, omit the cocoa powder and use your favorite vanilla protein powder. Or try pumpkin or birthday cake batter protein.

High protein fluff health benefits

While exact nutrition facts may vary depending on the type of protein, sweetener, and yogurt you choose, my version comes in at just 90 calories per serving.

The healthy snack contains under three grams of carbohydrates with one net carb and Weight Watchers point each.

It is high in calcium, low in saturated fat, and very high in iron (28% of the daily value). And the yogurt provides gut healthy probiotics.

Along with its high protein content, the chocolate fluff recipe also offers dairy free, egg free, gluten free, low carb, sugar free, keto, and vegan options.

Chocolate Protein Fluff With Protein Powder And Yogurt

How to make the high protein snack

Start by gathering all of your ingredients.

In a large mixing bowl or a stand mixer, combine the yogurt with the chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, and sweetener.

Use a spoon or beaters to whip everything together until the texture is light, airy, and completely smooth.

This step can also be done in a food processor or blender if you find that easier.

Portion into bowls, mason jars, or glasses, and have fun adding different toppings.

Cover any leftovers and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

You can also freeze the protein chocolate fluff if you do not mind a somewhat icy texture. Thaw the frozen recipe, then blend in a blender or food processor to regain some of the creaminess.
