Healthy Whipped Cream – Homemade Reddi-Wip

Behold, the great wall of healthy whipped cream…

whipped cream pie

Shown above, on top of my Crustless Pumpkin Pie.

Don’t laugh… but as a kid, squirt whipped cream was one of my favorite foods. Every time we held a slumber party, soccer-team party, or girl scout party, we’d be sure to buy extra cans of Reddi-Wip, and my ice cream sundaes looked like this:

Small scoop of ice cream, ocean of chocolate syrup, mountain of whipped cream.

Homemade Reddi-Wip whipped cream is light and airy and swirly, just like the real thing! However, this one has no preservatives, stabilizers, emulsifiers, or cholesterol. It is straight-up awesomeness: great on ice cream, hot chocolate, pancakes, squirted straight from the can (my personal favorite), or used anywhere else you’d use squirt whipped cream.

How to make homemade whipped cream   Christmas present

When I first saw the Isi “Easy Whip” mini whipped cream maker at Crate & Barrel, I was so curious as to whether or not it would work with my Homemade Coconut Cool Whip that the machine immediately went onto my Christmas list. Some people ask for jewelry for Christmas; some ask for fancy cars.

But you can’t eat a fancy car.

And I really hope you don’t eat your jewelry.

You can, however, eat this:

healthy redi whip

Healthy Whipped Cream – Homemade Reddi-Wip

(can be sugar-free)

  • 1 can “heavy cream” such as coconut cream or Mimicreme (If you can’t find coconut cream, which can be purchased at Trader Joe’s or at an Asian market, you may use the thick cream that forms at the top of most full-fat cans of coconut milk when it’s chilled. If you go that route, I’d recommend using the cream from the tops of 2 cans.)
  • powdered sugar or powdered stevia to taste
  • optional: add a few drops of vanilla extract or almond or peppermint extract for a flavored whipped cream. And yes, this does work with my Chocolate Whipped Cream Recipe.

Healthy Whipped Cream Instructions: (If you don’t have a whipped cream machine, whip up your cream and sweetener with beaters instead, until stiff peaks form.) Prepare the whipped cream container and charger according to manufacturer’s directions for your specific brand/model. Pour in the cream– if using coconut cream, it’s best to not chill first. In seconds, the 1/2 pint you put in will yield 5 times that amount! (So 2.5 pints total for this recipe.) Use anywhere you’d use squirt whipped cream, and it stays fresh for up to ten days in the refrigerator.

Oh my gosh I LOVE LOVE LOVE reddi whip too, but it can be unhealthy because who honestly only eats one serving? I’d love one of these! Your “reddi whip” looks great, I could eat it on its own haha!

  2. Ellen S. says

Yum! I have an oil sprayer thing sort of like this that I use instead of buying spray cans. This would be a fun addition! Thanks for being so cool!

  3. Cindi says

I would love one of these! I’ve just discovered the joys of whipped cream in a can, and would much rather make our own. Thanks so much for the chance to win one!

  4. Crystal Black says

Oh my! I’ve followed you on Pinterest for a while now. This looks amazing! I have yet to try and make my own, but after successfully making my own marshmallows around the holidays I surely can do this. Love it!

  5. Buffi Shelley says

How did I not know this existed! ?! I love whipped cream and I would love to be able to make it myself! Thanks for sharing this great product!

  6. Jennifer says

My son would thank you for this, he loves canned whipped topping and I’m not fond of letting him have it. (we don’t but his grandparents do!)

  7. Barb says

I admit – I still buy cans of whipped cream and eat it in a bowl for dessert with chocolate sprinkles. This would save me a lot of money 🙂

  8. Nikita says

This is so cool! My only experience making coconut whipped cream didn’t turn out well because I used Trader Joe’s Coconut Cream AND chilled it. It was lumpy, but still tasty. I have been too scared to try again, but maybe this would work for me!

  9. Ashley B says

Would love to win this– Thanks for highlighting this product! Something I have definitely missed now that I have tried to cut out processed foods.

  10. Jean says

    Katie!

I had no idea that there was such a thing as a whipped cream machine! Like you, I ask for kitchen items for Christmas. My big gift this past Christmas was my All-Clad CopperCore cookware! Much better than jewelry 🙂

  11. Laura Lee says

I would love one of those! I already follow you on Pinterest and will definitely be repinning this! Love your recipes

  12. Danielle says

LOVE your recipes! My little girls would think I’m the BEST MOM EVER making our own whipped cream. They like to eat the whipped cream out of the can when we’re making ‘deluxe hot chocolate’ and sundaes 🙂

  13. Kay says

I am a newly retired educator and I LOVE Pinterest and all the neat things I’m learning. I didn’t know there was such a gadget, but love the idea that more healthy whipped cream can be made without all the mess of the mixer! I have granddaughters who are “foodies” and I can’t wait to share this with them!!
Thank you for sharing your great information. It must be very fulfilling to have a website and blog about the things you love! Also, I am impressed that you are willing to share this great item with your own money! WOW!!! While I was in education, I always tried to make everything a “giveaway” of some sort. Everyone loved it and seemed to be thrilled whether they won or not. It makes things FUN! Will pin and follow you!

  14. Kelly says

    Looks tasty!

I’ve seen this kind of thing on Top Chef, but always thought it must be a fancy, expensive, real chef kind of thing. Excited to see it’s so much more accessible!

  15. cecelia p says

I loooved whipped cream from a can as a child, honestly my brother and I could probably polish off an entire can together in 2 days during the height of strawberry season when we were kids! I’d love one!

I repinned your copycat panda express recipe because it’s my new favorite dinner!

  16. Maya says

Very fun! And I’m the same way with presents- I always ask for a WF gift card for my birthday 🙂 And Vosges Black Pearl chocolate…Mmm I take food over clothes/shoes/jewelry any day!

  17. Grace says

Oh my gosh! It’s whipped cream!! It’s my all time favorite thing, besides chocolate of course! I LOVE just squirting it from the can, but it is full of the bad stuff isn’t it? My sister and I tried whipping heavy whipping cream by hand before, and boy was that tiring! Actually, whenever I go to Starbuck’s, I happen to ask for a cup of whipped cream on the side just so I can eat it with a spoon!! I love whipped cream! You could say it’s my life…. 😛

I would love to win that! I’d have sooooo much fun with it!! haha 😛 But I don’t have a Pinterest… Is there any other way I can get 3 additional entries, CCK?

And that pumpkin pie looks amazing!!! 🙂 Though I need to ask, where can I buy xylitol?

    Thanks!
    -Grace 🙂

  18. Tammy says

That is awesome! There is nothing quite like a mountain of whipped cream on ice cream sundaes or pie or anything really!

  19. megan says

I loved whipped cream when I was little too. WE would have whipped cream pie eating contests at our fourth of july festivals by my house instead of actually eating pie.

  20. Alysha says

I didn’t even know a gadget like this existed…that’s amazing! I never ask for anything people normally for Christmas, usually my lists is completely kitchen gadgets and cookbooks. Cannot wait to try. I repinned your slow cooker veggies, your peppermint bark and so much more. I’m pretty sure one of my boards is only your recipes.

  21. Thomas rose says

My b’day is jan 20/ I live in Canada , and have never seem this
Product. I would so love to have one of these to cover my cakes with whipped goodness

  22. Lisa N says

    This would be fantastic!

I have never seen this product before. What a cool little machine! Thanks for doing the giveaway and best of luck to all those that enter. 🙂

  24. carrie says

This looks amazing! I make my son homemade, healthy low sugar pumpkin cake. He loves a bit of whipped cream on it, but I hate all the chemicals in the canned stuff. This tool would sure be useful.

  25. Joy Pribish says

If I win this, I will be using it on your crustless pumpkin pie. Having this would save me money too and allow me to have whipped cream cream whenever I need it – no more last minute runs to the grocery store for whipped cream I would only use once and then not need until after it went bad. 🙂

  26. Mary says

Looks Delicious! Maybe I should try it with the easy whip device as otherwise my coconut whipped cream usually turns out a bit runny 🙁

  27. Elisabeth says

I would LOVE one of these. I love making whipped cream, but it is so much cooler from a can! This would be the best of both worlds. And I can’t wait to try making my own with coconut cream!

  28. Jo and Sue says

Thank you so much for hosting such a cool giveaway! I can just imagine all the deliciousness I can create using one of these. (P.S. – Following on Pinterest for a long time now and repin lots of your treats!)

  36. Deb says

Thank you – never knew this existed!! I so need this!! I have made your coconut whipped cream – we love it but my son doesn’t since it does not come out of a can. I just cannot let them eat that crap!!

Already follow you & pin all the time anyway!!

  37. Linda says

Done and done. I made a batch of the oatmeal muffins this week to help my husband and me stick with healthy eating. They serve as dessert sometimes with a dollop of peanut butter. Thanks for all you’re doing! Love the blog.

  38. Rachel says

I’ve seen these homemade whipped cream dispensers around a few times before. It seems like a great idea, especially since I could make whipped coconut cream!

  39. Laura says

As Vicki above me says, I’ve followed you for a long time on pinterest and have also just repinned this whipping cream post…………thanks for all the great ideas!!

  40. Rachel says

Of course I’d love one! I actually made your sugar cookie oatmeal with the Very Blueberry Celestial Seasonings tea last night and cut up a banana into it this morning…it tasted just like banana blueberry bread. Yum!

  41. Alexa says

Ever since I was a little kid, whenever my family would buy the bottles of whipped cream I would always volunteer to squirt it on everyone’s dessert….and of course that meant putting a mountain of whipped cream on their pie!

    🙂 Alexa

  42. Renee V. says

OMG!!!! I’d love to own one! My dad and I joke about it all the time. I saw one at Essex (a bargain place) and it was little bit pricier than I what I wanted to spend. If you don’t mind me asking how much is this one?

  43. Emily says

This sounds amazing!! I too grew up with a fondness of Reddi Whip, and can’t wait the try the coconut cream version!

  44. Betsy says

Wow, it would be great to win that machine and make the yummy but healthy whipped cream for my family. I cringe when they eat Reddi Whip or Cool Whip.

  45. Danielle says

WOW!! I just made coconut whipped cream for the first time a few weeks ago, but this looks like it would make it 10 times better!! Love healthy desserts!

  46. Renee V. says

This is so cool! Sometimes my family walks in on me eating whipped cream straight from the can! SO embarrassing, but so yummy! Can’t wait to try this!

  52. Mandi says

Thank you for your wonderful recipes! This sounds amazing, my husband and i just started a plant based diet this year and i’ve ben missing dairy, i think some homemade redi whip could fix that! And my daughter would have so much fun helping!

  53. Janel says

Oh that is so cool! I love whipped cream, but I try not to buy it for the exact reasons you listed! What a fun gadget!

  54. Kristine says

I have never heard of such a thing but I would LOVE to use this because reddi-wip (vegan) belongs on top of everything from desserts, to breakfasts and beverages! PS- my Christmas list was filled with soley with kitchen gadgets and ingredients. Who doesn’t want a bag of hemp seeds and a new doughnut pan, right?

  55. trajayjay says

Whipped cream is an amazing condiment that’s awesome on cake, fruit, icecream, hot chocolate, and well, any dessert. This machine is probably a lot easier to use than manually whipping cream like they did in ye olde tymes.

  56. Kelly Austin says

I love buying new kitchen appliances! I asked for and received a yonanas machine for christmas this year, so I totally understand.

  57. Psuke says

ZOMG. yes please! Reddi-whip used to be one of my favorite-est things. I put it on practically anythibg. Except maybe soup.

  58. Chantelle says

  59. Claudia S. says

That is so cool, I would love to win one!! With a lactose intolerant 2 year old, having something like that would make it a lot easier and cheaper to make dairy free whip cream for her waffles and dairy free ice cream.

  60. Amanda says

I think I’d have entirely too much fun squirting whipped cream on everything! I’ve been wanting to try your coconut homemade Cool Whip for a while now, this would force me to! I love re-pinning your things on Pinterest! My dessert board is full of your stuff!

  61. Ally says

I want this! It looks awesome! Oh and I was already following you on pinterest and have pinned things today 😀 my username is allythebuterfly

  62. Jenny D says

This whip cream maker sounds dangerous. I can imagine standing there just squirting it my mouth! I have never seen this before but now I know i need this in my life!

  63. Amanda says

I was just thinking the other day about how awesome it would be to have a device that dispenses homemade whip cream like the canned stuff! I think this is definitely a gadget that will need to be added to my kitchen

  64. Cindy says

This is one cool gadget! My kids love Reddi-Whip, but I rarely buy it due to cost and the fact that it seems to disappear quite quickly! Love your recipes!!

  65. Karly says

I’d actually seen this idea before on someone’s blog who made a few recipes for vegan versions of Starbucks lattes. I’ve been meaning to try coconut whipped cream ever since but still haven’t gotten around to it. This was a good reminder that I’ll have to work on that. It looks so good! 🙂

  66. Fawn says

I have wondered too if they would work…
I also follow you and repinned this and many more
    of your pins!

  71. Shannon says

I am with you about squirty whip-cream. It was a favorite for sure! AND I had no idea there were at home squirty whip-cream makers. I feel like my whole life has been a sham.

I can’t wait to try it myself. I *will* wait to see if by some chance I win, but only until January 25th at, well, maybe noon-ish. It would be super crazy to order one of those miracle makers at midnight, wouldn’t it?

  72. Julia Tyson says

That is so awesome! My family really likes whipped cream! When there is a open can in the refrigerator, my brothers open their mouth and pour the whipped cream in, then make sure that my mom didn’t see them. 🙂

  73. Julia Tyson says

Oh, and I already followed you on Pinterest and that is why I saw this post! 🙂 I want to make your homemade Reese’s eggs, but haven’t done it yet. 🙂

  76. Carolyn says

    I have a problem.

I eat whipped cream squirted straight onto my plate, nothing else, just the whipped cream…
    DELICIOUSNESS.
My family hates me for it! 🙂

So yeah, me getting one of these is a good idea

  77. Amy A says

I already follow you on Pinterest and have already pinned many of your recipes, but just pinned the Twix bars. Those are the hubbies fav, so I’m going to make them for him for Valentine’s Day! 🙂

  79. Crystal Carey says

I love your recipes and make the frosting shot every few weeks! This looks like a great product that I would love to try. I use my Misto often and this is something I would also use weekly! Thanks for the tip.

  80. Rebecca P. says

My Family is huge on icecream and always loads the whipped cream on, however im not a fan, but this would be great for them!

  81. Stephanie says

I want so badly!!! I’m obsessed with whipped topping on everything (wafffles, coffee, ice cream) or straight out of the can… I’m going to go hide in shame now…

  82. Kirsten says

I love this! I have borrowed my mom’s whip cream canister a few times to make coconut whipped cream… it is so good and I would love to have my own. I am also now following you on pinterest (can’t believe I wasn’t already) and I repinned your twix bar recipe (it looks so good!)

  83. Sarah says

  84. LeeAnn says

This looks incredible! I was just looking at the calories and fat in heavy whipping cream yesterday and decided it was too much. I’ll try this instead, if I win one or after I buy one.

  85. Mer says

I’m addicted to fat free Redi-Wip (5 cals per serving, tho i never have just one serving), but i finally made your coconut whipped cream the other day, and it was amazing! I confess I thought it wasnt going to be THAT great-i figured it’d be not quite as good stand in for the real thing, but i followed your directions, used a ton of madagascar vanilla and some powdered Tagatose, and it came out amazing. Even the bf liked it :). I’d love to win the whipped cream maker 🙂

  86. Sabrina says

Thats so cool!!!!! I’ve used refrigerated coconut milk and whisked it but it just never got so poofy! It also tastes fantastic with cinnamon and vega shake packets 😀

  87. Chelsea A. says

This is so cool! I would love to add that to my kitchen supplies.

    ps.
My Christmas list was full of Cooking/Baking supplies too. I love getting gifts that actually have a useful purpose.

This machine looks super cool!! I love whipped cream in any form, but I love that this is healthier! 🙂 I’m headed to Pinterest now!

  90. Kerry says

I’ve wanted one of these for a long time! This would be so much better than buying expensive cans of soy whipped cream.

  91. Chaya says

I would absolutely love this! I usually would want a non-dairy whip cream, and most of those have chemicals so I’m very into the idea of making my own. This looks so cool and it just got me so in the mood for whipped cream. I hope I win!

  92. Rachel B. says

I LOVE YOUR RECIPES!! I already follow your pins and post your recipes! I sure hope I win, but if not then I will DEF be adding this to my wishlist! Thnx for sharing 🙂

  93. Steve says

I used to have one of these many moons ago before I went vegan, but it got lost during a move. As good as the Soyatoo vegan whipped cream tastes, sometimes the cans work properly, and sometimes they don’t. Even when they do work, there always seems to be a lot of “cream” left in the can when the nitrous oxide expires, so I always feel kind of ripped off. But with this gizmo, such problems would be a thing of the past. I want one!

By the way, this is my new favorite vegan recipe website, and it just keeps getting better and better every day!

  94. Melissa says

This is so cool. I love it. Thanks for the great recipes I am totally going to try these out. I am now following you on Pinterest as well.

  95. Krysti says

What an awesome gadget! I would LOVE this!

My husband is lactose intolerant, and I can’t tell you how many things have been introduced back into his life thanks to your blog!! Having a whipped cream maker for our morning coffee and your awesome pumpkin pie (which he was very grateful for this Thanksgiving, btw :)) would be amazing!! Plus, it would give us yet another excuse to introduce your awesome treats to our skeptical-of-healthy-makeover families – they have all fallen in love with your cookie pie and healthy ranch dressing recipes!

    Thanks Katie!

  96. Whitney Haddow says

I HAVE ONE OF THESE!! I never thought of using it for coconut whipped cream though, my husband only uses it for his regular cream. I am excited to try. Thanks Katie! 🙂

  97. Rachel Alexandra says

I never thought there was vegan whipped cream, and whipped cream is my favorite, so it was pretty hard to live without it! you made my day so much better 🙂

  98. Erica says

I never even knew this existed but now I realllllly want one!! I’d love to have some homemade whipped cream on some baked chocolate chip cookie dough oatmeal (my favorite recipe of yours)!

  99. Kendra says

I love whipped cream! …hate all the extra crap they put in it! Haven’t tried coconut cream… I’ll have to keep that in mind!

  100. Lauren I says

omg that is the coolest thing I have ever seen! Im obsessed with my reddi whip..who knew you could make it and the calories are sooo low! I would love love to win, omg that would be so amazing. anyways love all your recipes and ice cream posts…keep em coming!

  101. Natalie says

Oh WOW!!! – this would be great to have for my 2 vegan kids…think of the birthday parties! but also all the late night snacking i do after they are in bed. 🙂

  102. Megan says

For a single girl, I have WAY too many kitchen gadgets. But this one deserves a spot! I know this is TMI…but once I had a burping contest with some friends after we all ate a bunch of spray whipped cream. Turns out you ingest a lot of air when spraying whipped cream straight into your mouth. 😉 This was before college…so adult beverages were not involved..!

  103. Theresa says

Thank you! I’d LOVE to try one of these gadgets…whipped topping is great for topping pies, sundaes, hot chocolate…but the ones you find in stores are so bad for you. So I’d love to win one of these to make my one! Good luck to all!

  104. Alessandra says

Would love a whip cream maker. My parents have one, but they put dairy cream in it so I normally can’t use it.

  105. Kristy says

Oh my gosh, I would love to win this!! I use Redi-whip on my coffee every morning, and would love to have a homemade version without all the extras since I am trying to eat as “clean” as possible!!

  106. Nicolle says

This looks like lots of fun to use with my girls! I bet they would enjoy helping to make it if they could use this little tool too 🙂

  107. Rose says

That is so awesome!!! I drink hot chocolate every day in the winter, and this would be so much healthier than marshmallows!! 😀

  108. Tracey Gorham says

How terrific..a few weeks ago I was wondering if there was something like this out there so I could have the fluffy cream from the can without all the ickies! Thanks for sharing it!! =)

  109. Rebecca says

What a great thing to have in the kitchen! I always prefer gifts that encourage my favorite things; cooking, baking, and crafting! Is it too bizarre to ask for this for Valentine’s Day instead of jewelry?!

  110. Sarah says

Katie! I asked for an ice cream maker attachment for my standing mixer for Christmas so I hear you girl! I cannot wait to try some of your voluminous ice cream recipes-with some of your coconut whipped cream on top! All I need now is one of those nifty whipped cream machines!

  111. Elissa Burda says

Love this! This would be especially great for my 4 year old son who is allergic to dairy. The vegan whipped cream you can buy in the can doesn’t work half the time anyways.

  112. Lori says

YUM! I have not tried to make coconut whipped creme but a trip to Trader Joes is going to happen this week to get the “heavy” coconut creme. {It is way out of my way so have to schedule it in} thanks for the inspiration

  113. Crissy says

Oh my gosh that whipped cream looks delicious! 😀 I had no idea that a product like this existed but now I totally want one!!

  114. Theresa says

Whipped cream is out of my element. I’m almost 56 years old and have never had whipped cream turn out. Used to drive my mom crazy whenever I tried. This would be an awesome thing to have on hand! I could make whipped cream whenever! Now it’s on my list of must haves!

  115. Jennifer says

Holy WOW! I’m gonna have to bake another crustless pumpkin pie just to try out this recipe. My mouth is watering!!! I’m allergic to dairy products. It’s been a gazillion years since I was able to squirt whipped cream from a can into my mouth. I had no idea a whipped cream maker even existed! Thanks, Katie!

  116. Lisa says

In high school, I used to take peanut butter and cool whip sandwiches to school for lunch! 🙂 I didn’t even know this contraption existed!! Excited to try it!!

  117. Rosemary says

Oh my gosh, that would be perfect! My little sisters could continue to eat bowls full of whipped cream, but without the ickiness! 🙂

  118. gayle says

would SO love this. BTW…Trader Joe’s coconut milk has stuff in it..any brand known by anyone that is JUST coconut milk?

  119. Sofie says

YUM!!!! Homemade whipped ‘cream’ is the best! That nifty little machine would be the perfect addition to my supply of kitchen gadgets!

  120. Danielle says

That little machine looks amazing. Some of that whipped cream would be awesome on top of your no-bake peanut butter pie!

  121. Susan says

Already a follower on Pinterest, but I repinned this recipe just cuz I can’t wait to try it. I would love to win the whip maker. Thanks for all the great recipes 🙂

  122. Eva says

I follow you on Pinterest and am a huge fan.
In Bulgaria you certainly can’t find anything like that. Thank you for the chance!

  123. Katie says

Yum! While I’m not vegan, I would still enjoy using this instead of the processed crap out there! I also follow you on pinterest!

  124. Courtney says

Love this idea, I usually go whip-less but with this I could indulge with whip on my pie guilt free! Imagining fruit parfaits with this during the summer. Oooh my.

  125. Miranda lund says

Would love one for my own. I use my mom’s during the holidays, but hers has a tendency of spraying ALL over the kitchen 😉

  126. Joan says

This is genius!! Thanks for sharing. I am now following you on Pinterest and repinned at least 20 things. Then I remembered I can check your board any time I want. Love your posts.

  127. Cyndee says

This is a answer to my prayers (since I have become vegan and still crave old favs)….as well as my 8 yr old daughter who is very very allergic to all dairy. I showed her this recipe and she wants me to make it for her RIGHT now 🙂 Thank you for sharing this….now the both of us can enjoy our pumpkin pie and sundaes with bigger smiles

  128. Deanna says

How cool is this. I am just learning about all this wonderful stuff you don’t have to live without. My 3 year old daughter and I just love making the wonderful DELICIOUS things on your website and this would be a wonderful addition.

  129. Erin says

I LOVE whipped cream! Love the idea of it being available instead of whipping it up (forever) with mixer.

Also, I follow you on Pinterest already, and pinned your single serving chocolate cake. YUm!

  130. Amy says

I’d love this! What a neat kitchen appliance & my boys would love it 🙂

I also already follow you on Pinterest & Pin lots of your recipes 🙂

  131. Laura Barnaba says

Whipped cream is the one thing that we are missing from our dye/preservative free diet. I know I can make it the old fashioned way but it hasn’t really seemed worth it until now. This is great!

  132. Laura Gay says

I didn’t know these exsisted. It’s soOO much better to make your own so your know what you’re eating. I’d be ever so grateful to own one of my own. 🙂

  133. Kate says

I’ve wanted to try one of these for forever!! My husband looooves the chocolate mousse/frosting recipe made with coconut milk, so I’m sure he’d love this too! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  134. sarah s. says

I want one! I love your stuff, it is fantastic for us non-dairy folks (even though I’m not usually vegan). And the healthy part is a great bonus!

  135. Momcat says

Ah, busted! Yes, my whole family has been known to sneak a squirt from the canned whipped cream. I’d love to have the whipped cream machine, hmmm… wonder how I can disguise it to keep the family from becoming squirt addicts. Thanks for the healthier version of whipping cream!

  136. Jessica says

Katie…this is fantastic! I would prefer one of these for Christmas instead of that car too. 😉 My son cannot have the regular whipped cream since he can’t have dairy, so he would love this…as would I! I love your posts…you always have such wonderful recipes and great information. Thanks so much!

  137. Arlene says

So…. the generic Whole Foods Fat Free canned whipped cream is my secret guilty pleasure. Like, it’s bad. That and a little piece of organic dark chocolate is my dessert alllll the time. Or lately I’ve been making your flourless chocolate chip cookies like almost DAILY! I really would like to try this product! Do you have any ideas on a lower fat version?? I know it’s a good fat, but I get a lot of good fats (which can be bad I think).

PS——–> THANK YOU so much for keeping us in the loop of products that ya just like. That’s what being a blogger is supposed to be about. I mean, you have to make a living, but I love that you endorse things just b/c you like it too. It’s only part of what makes you so endearing.

  138. Pam says

Oh my. This. Is. AMAZING! I definitely would like one of these! My birthday is next month, so if I don’t win this super fabulous giveaway, I’m definitely putting it on my b-day wish list! Thanks for always being so awesome!

  139. Maraika says

I have no success whipping coconut cream any other way so this Reddi Whip would prove to my family and friends that it can be done – and is healthy as well!

  140. Jamie says

My diabetic daughter always asks for a whipped cream spray in her mouth. At 1 carb you can’t go wrong. Except for I am sure it is not as healthy as making your own. So I would love this! 🙂

  141. Melissa says

Oh my stars, I had no idea this magnificent device existed! How wonderful (and cost effective) to make my own whipped cream. That would mean I could make this topping wearing my pajama pants. Happy day.

  142. Mary Thompson says

It would be awesome to give my kids whip cream from a can using this. I am always looking for ways to make things healthier for them. Thanks for letting us know about it.

  143. Carol says

I already follow you on Pinterest. Thanks for this wonderful blog! I get so much inspiration from it. I made your no-bake Coconut crack bars last night, but I decided to cut small chunks and drop them in candy molds half filled with partially set chocolate (coconut oil, agave, and cocoa powder) and then filled with more chocolate to the top….my husband loved it! I’m so glad because we have many food sensitivities. I’m gonna try your chocolate chip cookies one of these days because they don’t have eggs. Thanks again and keep it up. Your fans are following you!

  144. Sjondi says

This would be a neat tool…cuz when I squirt the cream into my childrens’ little mouths, it’ll be better homemade!!

  145. Ingrid m says

Looks so delicious! I didn’t even know they sold that. I ha only seen it at Starbucks and always told myself I would love to have one at home. Thanks for the giveaway.

  146. Stephanie says

It would be so fun to have one of those! So cool! I just made trifle for the first time this weekend. Next time I’m going to try your recipe for whipped cream. Sounds great!

  147. catherine smith says

I’d love to have a healthy redi-whipper for my children. Always trying to encourage them in healthful ways showing them healthy can be tasty!

  148. Lia @ Sojourning says

I am also a whipped cream LOVER! I’ve been wanting one of these, or anything like it, for a very long time. I love that this is what you asked for for Christmas. It would make me the happiest cream filled lady around town (Ha!)! Too much innuendo there perhaps.

  149. Terry says

Wow, however do you choose? I don’t envy you that choice! lol…..
However, I will take the opportunity to thank you for your blog! I use more of your recipes than any I have found. I am newly vegan (less than 6 mo.) and you help me, a lot! ….but I could not get the right consistancy for the whip cream, although I am not giving up…. 🙂

  150. Lainey says

Sounds great! I love redi whip, but don’t like all the extra junk in it (same with cool whip). Came by this recipe on pinterest because I already follow you 🙂 now I will go re-pin some of my favorite recipes of yours I’ve tried!

  151. Carissa says

I absolutely loove homemade whipped cream but I have a sensitivity to milk, but I never thought to use coconut cream! I can’t wait to try this!!

  152. Jenna says

We go through RediWip like crazy! And I love the idea of knowing exactly what you’re eating. This would be an awesome addition to my kitchen!

  153. Emily says

Looks super yummy! My sister loves Reddi Whip; she makes a mountain of whippped cream on top of her hot chocolate then squirts more in her mouth just for good measure. Last time we ran out (in the middle of my dad putting it on our hot chocolate) we all gave her death glares because we knew who was to blame.

  154. Daria says

WOULD LOVE to try this with your dairy-free whipped cream! (Also: I already follow you on Pinterest and I just re=pinned a bunch of your recipes!!) LOVE YOUR SITE!

  155. Jenn Cattaneo says

Looks SO FUN. I made your crustless punkin pie, and the coconut cream ‘cool whip’ for thanksgiving. Ate it 3 nights in a row YUM!!! I would get so much fun/play time out of this iSi whipped cream thingy!

    xo, Jenn

  156. Nujj says

Yum!!!! I would love to try this! I already follow you on pinterest and I am going to repin away… my friends deserve to learn of your yummy recipes, too!

  157. Ashley says

    Hi Katie!

I was just writing a post about healthy whipped cream alternatives for my blog…and this TOTALLY opens up a whole new set of doors for me! I love Soyatoo…but that stuff gets expensive! Also a former whipped cream addict in my pre-vegan days, (I would often opt for a sundae sans ice cream so as to have enough room for the whipped topping, marshmallow sauce, and sprinkles), I will say I miss the light and airy texture of Reddi-Whip and other canned creams. Thank you so much for sharing this post…and I can’t believe how sweet you are to offer a give-a-way! I always know I can trust you, so if you say this thing is good…I can’t imagine a proper kitchen without it 😉

    xo

    Ashley

  158. Aleecia says

I love your website and would love to win this! I’ve eyed these on Amazon before. 🙂 I love your recipes and will follow you on Pinterest too! Thanks!

Love this idea- I get so many great ideas from you- you inspire me to try new things!! (plus that machine looks cool- I didn’t know they made them)

  161. Rachel (teacher-chef) says

You say that you asked for this for Christmas like it is not “normal” to ask for these type things!! I think that EVERYTHING I got for the holidays will produce or present some sort of food 🙂 Love this item, seems so awesome!!!

  162. Jill N says

This would be totally awesome to win! I love whipped cream but hate buying store stuff. So full of yuck to yummy percentage! Please pick me!

  163. Christina Conrad says

Wow!! I never thought of using one of these to make coconut whipped cream! Would love to own one!

I also follow you on pintrest 🙂

  164. Melissa George says

I NEED one of those things!! My kids love the squirt whipped cream. They do ‘shots’ stright out of the fridge! I would love to be able to let them have something that’s not full of junk but is fun and delicious! If I don’t win I might have to buy one just for me!

And you are the sweetest thing to do this give away!

  165. Tammy says

ooooooo, this looks so tasty and what fun with a new kitchen gadget! I want one! LOL Thank you for all the delish recipes you post and the giveaways are sweet, too! 🙂

  166. jessica pizzella says

omg, i was just wandering around wegman’s looking for some kind of whipped topping without dairy i could give my daughter. they all had high fructose corn syrup or aspertime! this whipped cream can would be great!

  167. Emily says

Katie, I’ve made so many of your desserts. They are always sooooooo good. I made that cool whip last year, and was actually looking for the recipe again, to make it for my pumpkin pie. The Easy Whip sounds so nice.

  168. Emily Gullion says

Looks SO yummy 🙂 I often make homemade whipped cream the old fashioned way (beating cream until your arms turn into jello and fall off) but this looks like it’s a lot more fun.

  169. Meredith says

Would love the chance to win that cool gadget! I was wondering if it could whip coconut cream so thanks for testing it! I already follow you on Pinterest and pinned this post!

  170. Kristin Herrscher says

I love this! I love the texture of reddi-wip, but the flavor of the coconut cream its so much better. Thank you so much for all your posts! I had to go on a sugar-free diet a few years ago and your recipes have saved me from having to go without chocolate! This is an awesome gadget! I’ll have to see if it fits in my college budget. 😉

  171. Cheryl Deaver says

Love this! I didn’t know there was such a product out there! Would love to have one! Thanks for the opportunity! I think I already follow you on Pinterest, but I’m going to check to be sure!

  172. Rebeka says

I used to work at a coffee shop where we would make our own whipped cream in cans like this. It was SO good. I would love to try it with coconut cream. Yum! So much healthier and probably just as good.

  173. roselyn page says

Oh this would be great, I use fat free redi whip alot on my smoothies, this would be so much better for me!! I love new gadgets.

  174. Doreen says

Wow, I love the fact that there is way to eat healthy whipped cream! Thank you Katie. I look forward to reading your blog everyday. I just love it . So inspiring!

  175. Hajni says

What an excellent idea! I like airy whipped cream! I would love to have on of those machines and if I don’t win, I will be putting it on my list. I tried mimicreme before and I bet it would be great in this.

  176. Tia says

I am kind of obsessed with whipped cream, so that thing would be PERFECT.
Also, I followed you on Pinterest and repinned your most popular desserts of 2012!

  177. Claire says

Wow! Thanks for sharing! Didn’t know such machine exists! If I don’t win I’ll just go get it myself as I didn’t think I can get my coconut cream whipped to be like whipped cream! I tried using a hand mixer to whip it but it is still very dense and not fluffy at all! Thanks again!

  178. Dawn Laughlin says

Right from the can into my mouth was my favorite way to eat whipped cream (and at 52 yrs old it still is!!).
I would love to win this! I already follow you on Pinterest and will be sure to repin this recipe too!

  179. Janina says

Thank you for sharing your fan-tabulous recipes with us! I have been following you on Pintrest and “Like” you on Facebook to make sure not to miss anything. This is the first time I’ve seen the whipped cream machine and am so excited because I am lactose intolerant and like to find alternatives that are more delicious and healthy than the “original” dairy item!

  180. Jordan says

This is my dream come true. Anyone that knows me can attest to the fact that i may have a whipped cream addiction 🙂 This would be fantastic!

  181. Jen says

This looks amazing! My mom never bought Reddi Wip when I was a kid so of course I always wanted it when I went to friends’ houses. I need this tool! (And I, too, would rather have kitchen gadgets than jewelry.)

  182. Dena says

That is so fun! when my younger sister was little she tried to pack her own lunch for school one day. My mom peeked in to make sure she would have enough food and saw that my little sister had put in a baggie of her favorite food, strawberries in whipped cream. Needless to say, my mom subbed in a different, less prone to get all over a kindergartener’s clothing, snack. My sister still loves whipped cream, if I won I would give it to her so she can make a more wholesome variety

  183. Amanda Naturally says

I would LOVE this! I have a severe allergy to cow dairy so coconut milk has become my go-to! Haven’t nailed down the whipped cream recipe yet, so this would definitely help!
I already follow you on Pinterest and Twitter, and I often tweet about how much I love your recipes. As a nutritionist, I love sharing recipes that are healthy, delicious and allergen-free.
Thanks for all of your hard and amazing work!

  184. Rachael says

In England these are super expensive, if you can even find one!
It’s really lovely of you to be doing this from your own money =]

  185. Carroll says

O my gosh!! I didn’t know they made these but now I want one!! Cool! Sadly I don’t even have a Pinterest and can’t get one.

  186. Nicol says

Oh man, I would love one. I sometimes get the Soyatoo (or rice version), to satisfy my craving for squirting whipped cream in my mouth (a delight I have passed on to my kids :-D), but it’s so expensive.

  187. Alex says

I definitely need to try this recipe! I’ve been craving whipped cream on a new yummy vegan waffle recipe! This whipped cream looks perfect!

  188. Teresa says

I also LOVE whipped cream! My sundaes look just like you described, or sometimes I even leave out the ice cream and have a bowl of whipped cream with chocolate sauce!

  189. Kate says

Whipped cream from a can is one of the things I miss most since giving up dairy. I’m already dreaming of adding the homemade whipped cream to so many desserts!

  190. Laura says

I also follow you on Pinterest and repin more or less all of your pins…but just repinned the one for this whipped cream 🙂

  191. Hailey says

This is perfect since I just went dairy free and I miss whipped cream! When you make this do you also use your version of sugar-free powdered sugar or traditional?

  192. Erika says

I already follow you on pinterest and I’ll go ahead and pin three things I’ve been meaning to pin anyway.:)

I can’t wait to try this recipe! I had no idea there were whipped cream machines!

  193. jen says

oh my gosh…i NEED this. i can finally give my vegan children a sense of normalcy by topping their hot chocolate and pancakes (and every other food imaginable, i’m sure) with dollop of whipped cream.

  194. Camila says

Would LOVE this! The hubby and I recently made some pretty big dietary changes and this would be a handy little tool for approaching our healthy desserts! Would be honored if you chose me!

  195. Cassie says

So cool! I would love one of those little machines! Could be dangerous though, not sure how long vegan whipped cream would last with me!

  196. Christine Moore says

That would be a neat thing to have at my apartment so I could make some rocking vegan ice cream sundaes! One of the best Christmas presents I received this winter was “Vegan A La Mode,” a recipe book written by the “Bittersweet” blogger Hannah Kaminsky. Those batches I have made so far are superb: they could fool non-vegans with their creamy textures.

Speaking of Christmas presents, a friend of mine knew how much I liked your blog, so she gave me a “jar of chocolate chip cookies, Katie style” :). Thanks for spreading your joy and passion!

  197. abby r says

You are my hero, I would have totally asked for that for Christmas if I knew it existed! Your whip on the giant white bean chocolate chip cookie/pie thing is heaven.

  198. Kaitlin Oberle says

Ahhhh! This is sooo cool! I must get one of these pronto! My family &I go through about two cans of whip cream a day because we eat it plain. (: That is so neat! I follow you on pinterest already, and I love love love your recipes!

  199. Christina Bradic says

Looks phenomenal! I have always wondered how one of these machines would work with a non-traditional recipe. Thanks for the post!

  200. Amelia says

I’ve made coconut whipped cream before, but in the mixer with the wisk. This looks so much easier! Thanks for the giveaway, love the blog!

  201. Lindsay says

I bought my parents a full sized whipped cream charger for Christmas once, and they love it (so do I!). I never bought one for myself since I didn’t think I could go through enough whipped cream before it spoiled. This mini charger sounds perfect for me!

  202. Jessica Spencer says

I have to comment now because I love kitchen gadgets almost as much as I love this website! I’m about the furthest thing from a vegan or vegetarian, but I still love your recipes. They taste delicious and are great for work parties. Even my nearly-veggie-free husband likes your recipes!

  203. Susan Thompson says

My husband and I have been wanting to get one of these, but have not done so! I am looking forward to finding one and trying to make different flavors of whipped cream! some that come to mind: cinnamon, coffee, almond, peppermint, pumpkin (YUM!)

  204. Cari says

Oooo, oooo…pick me, pick me!! That is such a great invention. All we ever eat is homemade whipped cream, which means we don’t eat it a lot because I don’t want to take the time to whip it. So does this little gadget actually keep the cream in liquid form & then just whip on demand? Or does it do all the work up front & store it in whipped form? Either way, so great. Must have one. 😉

  205. Jessica says

Such a great idea! I’ve never thought of using coconut cream instead of heavy cream for propelled whipped cream, but this looks amazing!

  206. Mary C says

Have enjoyed following you! I will be dropping hints about this product to the hubby! 🙂 will be pinning this for sure!

  207. Evelyn says

I love you recipes! I have started taking them to family gatherings and introducing healthier habits to my nieces and nephews! They love it! Thanks!

  208. Teresa says

Wow this is so cool. Love the fact that you can make it fresh without all the preservatives and junk that are in the store bought version. Thanks for sharing.

  209. Melissa Wells says

I have been addicted to your coconut whip cream and especially putting it on top of your perfect hot chocolate. I would love this so my daughter would no longer be disappointed every time we pass a can of redi-whip!

  210. Eldonna Ashley says

Wow! That is great. I live in the very boonies, 37 houses in my little village and a very long way to buy one of these goodies. Thank you for the chance to win one.

  211. Lauren says

I can’t believe this actually exists! How cool – I’d love to have one to make lactose free whipped cream with 🙂

  212. Catherine says

This sounds delicious! Thanks for all the great recipe ideas! Everything I’ve tried so far has been delicious! I’m excited to try this out!

  213. Deirdre says

  214. cindy says

Pick me! My baby girl’s bday comes up soon and this would come in handy! And I follow you on pinterest, just pinned your lemon bars bc I’m craving citrus!

  215. Lacy says

I too asked from something to make whipped cream for Christmas! But this is SO much cooler than what I asked for. I pinned this one, blueberry pie pancakes (which we make often because the whole family loves them!) and Healthy Mounds bars, which I somehow missed before and want to try. 🙂

  216. Allison says

    This recipe looks fantabulously crazi-licious!
    And…
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG! The possibility of my very own whipped cream maker? That would be INCREDIBLE!
PS-Follow you on Pinterest, Facebook and get your emails! I am about to go share your candies: Butterfingers and Reese’s eggs.

  217. Andrea says

Also, I already follow you on twitter and pinterest so please enter me into the drawing. I will repin this whip cream recipe 🙂

  218. Mallory says

I love whipped cream! I can just eat it right out of the can! This, like all of your recipes is awesome! I can’t wait to try it out 🙂

  219. Rachel says

When I saw your recipe for coconut cool whip, I always wondered if it would work in one of those things! I would love to try this!

  220. Sara says

Mmm looks so delicious, would ove to try to make that:)
Just created Pinterest 2 days ago and I have pinned lots of recipes of you:)
Just recently became addicted to chocolate ( before I HATEDD chocolate, donow how that was possible though:p)

  221. Sarah says

Oh my goodness this looks so good!! I made your crustless pumpkin pie for thanksgiving and added some cocoa powder and turned it into an amazingly delicious chocolate pumpkin pie! Thought you would approve 😉 I tried hiding it in the fridge, but it disappeared overnight! I guess even my junk food eating family loved it.

  222. Christine says

I had no idea this product existed! Would love to win – I, too, loved eating whipped cream straight out of the can in my pre-vegan days.

I already follow you on pinterest and just repinned your Million Veggies Lentil Stew.

  223. Eco Chic says

I am a vegetarian and have been slowly drifting to vegan but reddi whip has always been that one thing I can’t give up! I have never found a recipe to make anything like it. This is soooooo perfect!!!

  224. Kat says

How exciting an opportunity. I have always wanted a creme maker! I saw one on TV once, and you can do yogurt and all kinds of things in them. I’ve never seen once locally.
    KK

  225. Laura says

Oh, my gosh!! I have to try that. It looks so yummy, and I have to confess that spray whipped cream is a definite Achilles heel of mine. It would be AWESOME to have an easy way to make it and have it be more healthy!!

  226. Sara says

I follow you on Pinterest, and I repinned:
•35 healthy and delicious ways to use canned pumpkin. A must-read for pumpkin lovers
•”5 minute” healthy chocolate truffles you can make in the microwave!
•”1 Minute” Chocolate Cake you can make in the microwave. This might just be the most dangerous dessert of all time.

  227. Sabrina says

I MUST have one of these. I make homemade chocolate pudding on a regular basis and loved whipped topping or whipped cream on top but not the additives. If you don’t pick me, I’ll be forced to purchase one! :0)

  228. Meri says

Oh lordy! I just made the chocolate mousse and ate it all in two days…and now faux reddi whip? YIKES!! I promise not to make it right away…
I follow you on Pinterest and I’d love to win the whipper! Thanks for such a generous giveaway! (And my birthday is the 17th…what an excellent gift!)

  231. BlessedCP says

I think this will be on my wish list too! And it may be one of my go-to gifts. What a great idea and you don;t have to eat any petroleum or other propellents to enjoy it. 🙂

  232. Christine E says

Hi Katie! I’ve been checking out your recipes since 8 yr old daughter & I went GF & dairy free this summer & feel tons better. Just started following on Pinterest & repinned 4 of my faves! Made your the PB bars tonight (but I added semi-sweet chocolate chips) & they’re amazing!!! I’d love to win one of the whip cream makers to make her the pumpkin pie. Thanksgiving just wasn’t the same this year. Do you think ground ginger could be added? That makes the best whip cream for pumpkin pie! Thanks for the yummy recipes & all the subs you suggest!

  233. Katie says

This looks really cool! I haven’t had whipped cream since I went vegan, but I plan to try your coconut recipe soon! I used to eat this stuff straight from the can, too. It was great. I have a feeling this is going on my wishlist if I don’t win. 🙂

  234. Nicole says

I’ve had one of those machines for like 6 years and I think I’ve used it once. I need to get on that!! I never thout of using coconut cream in it! Deelish!

I would love to be able to make my own whipped cream with that great, airy texture. Thank you, Katie, for sharing this product with us!

  393. julia says

    I need this!!
When using the coconut fat from the can, do you need to do anything to it first? Or is it really just magic? I could eat that stuff on anything!!

I love your wheat-free recipes including your pizza crust I made two nights ago and ended a craving I have had since giving up wheat (and most other grass). Thank you for your wonderful resource. You are a life saver, literally.

Love your blog. Thanks for posting healthy alternatives for those of us with an incurable sweet tooth. And thanks for your integrity in independently supporting products you like, rather than accepting sponsors.

  409. Rowena says

I already follow you on pinterest but I did pin this recipe. I would love to win the whipped cream machine. Sounds great!

  410. Honeybird says

This is great! My sister boyfriend (who kind of lives with us in the house right now) can’t have dairy or sugar. He looks at my sisters desserts topped with whipped cream with envy.. But with a whip-creammaker like that I can make a suitable whipped topping for him :P. I did think of this, but I don’t have a shaker like that and I wasn’t sure it would work 🙂

  411. Cheerfully Vegan says

Another picture the crustless pumpkin pie “just because?” lol More like another pic just to make my mouth water some more!!! lol This looks amazing, Katie. I would love to win one of these. But if I don’t….I will have to look into one anyway. 🙂 Yum!

  412. Neeeners says

Whipped cream was one of the things I first missed after going vegan and having one of these little gizmos seems to be a great solution! Thanks for being so innovative!

  413. Mindi says

We eat way too much whipped cream in our house, I have a 2 and 4 year old that cover their waffles with it until there is no sign of the waffle anymore. I would love this!

  414. Natalia says

Well, you have done it again. Finding products like this and making them be useful for healthier versions of the sweet goodness that we all love! Not sure if I could squeeze another small appliance in my kitchen in order to put this one in, should I win, but I think I would be MORE than willing to sacrifice one to the garage shelf in order to have one of these in the kitchen. Homemade coconut cream pies for my husband would be much more fun for me to make if I could honestly make it all from scratch.

  415. ashley says

    :O
That is all that really needs to be said.
I LOOOOVE whipped cream. You can’t eat pudding (especially vanilla) without it, and I always put a small squirt on my pumpkin pie oatmeal recipe I eat in the morning (tastes just like pumpkin pie and vanilla ice-cream).
I’m so jealous of your machine……

  416. Stephaniedem says

  420. Dana says

That looks amazing! I’ve considered getting machines to do whipped cream and to make foam for coffee drinks, but I haven’t pulled the trigger on either. I’ll have to take a second look at actually following through on that. Thanks for the recommendation!

    Thank you,
    Sherry

  426. Marisa G. says

This will be great for putting the coconut whipped cream on the hot carob drink I make! Usually it just sinks to the bottom when I put a glob of it on top. The whipped cream maker will also be great for decorating pies with the coconut whip.

    thanks so much!
    xxx Annie

  436. Rachael K says

I only recently learned you could make whipped cream with coconut milk. Since I’m trying to cut out processed food from my family’s diet, this would definitely come in handy on those occassions we would use whipped cream. Love your blog!

  437. bobbi says

you would not believe the number of people I have referred to your website. I have lost 25# and I tell them that because of your website, i can eat dessert every night and not feel guilty!! (and i do eat dessert most nights!)

Wow… this “Isi “Easy Whip” mini whipped cream maker” sounds like a dream! I LOVE making homemade ice cream sundaes, but typically, I shy away from the stuff in the can, but making my own with the gadget would equal more fun and less guilt!

  447. Liza McGowen says

This looks so good, especially above the pumpkin pie. Still desperately buying cans on pumpkin and refusing to believe that their season is over.
I also followed you on Pinterest and repinned.

  448. Holley Rogers says

My husband would love to have an on-going can of reddi-whip. He and my 5 year old LOVE it. So if I could make them a healthier version, I would be one happy momma and wife. Love your blog. I talk about it alllll the time. 🙂

  449. KellyR says

Holy man, I want that! I loved that stuff when I was a kid, and refuse to buy it now because it’s kind of gross. But making my own? Oh yeah!!

  450. Theresa says

I like finding the perfect tool for the job. This is the tool for whipped cream- how exciting! Also, I used to order cups of whipped cream at starbucks instead of a drink, so I know how you feel! haha

  458. Michelle Shelfer says

I am one who would eat cool whip as a main food group.
Now that I’m on the THM plan (at goal weight! yeah!), I need an alternative.
The thought of keeping my body free of sugar and other junk is now more attractive than the thought of eating cool whip.

  459. KarenJ says

A question – Does this taste or smell of coconut? I”ve never even considered using cocnut creme because coconut is one of the few foods in the world I won’t touch. Even the smell bothers me. (Please note, as an infant in Hawaii my mother gave me coocnut milk but this seems to be genetic. None of the women in my small extended family like coconut. Put out a box of mixed chocolates and watch which ones get left behind! We all like chocolate!)

  460. Alex says

I’ve decide that whip cream tastes good on ANYTHING sweet. So I generally have it on top of my cereal in the morning, with my snack, with dessert…etc.
    LOVE 🙂

  461. Katherine says

This looks delicious! Until jut now, I did not even know you could buy whipped cream squirters, that’s awesome! Your recipes have inspired me to create my own too. Thank you!

  462. Marie says

  468. Jaime says

Wow I would love to have this machine and yes my birthday is on the 8th, so if I don’t win, i will definitely hint to my hubby. Especially since he would eat whipped cream by the barrelful if he could!! This would be a great tool to add to my collection since i am really into making my own food lately especially due to chemicals they add to food. It is nice to know what is put into your food and you can if you make it yourself! PS love your site. I am constantly on it getting ideas for desserts and oatmeal and shakes oh my!

  469. Leslea says

I have never seen anything like this! My son cannot have dairy and I tried making something similar for him in my magic bullet with coconut cream but the liquid became hot and never fluffed. I was so disappointed. This would be great to use for him and the rest of us!

Wow, would really like this to try it out, I have done the whip cream using the tops from coconut milk. I wish I had a crate and barrel near by to go buy one.

  487. Linda Kaban says

As a person who’s allergic to coconut (and all tree nuts), I’m getting more and more discouraged to find so much use of coconut here. I love your site and recipes, but I wish there wasn’t so much focus on coconuts and nuts.

  488. April says

Wow never thought I would be able to do Real Whip cream again!! I loved to shoot it in my mouth when I was a kid…one of the sad realities that hit when I discovered I couldn’t do dairy anymore. This would be awesome.
I am following you on pin-interest…now to choose which one of your recipes to pin…as I love them all.
Thanks for all you do…especially with coming up with new ways to eat chocolate for breakfast.
    Zan

  491. Heather Smith says

This looks amazing! I already love your chocolate whipped cream and I would love coconut whipped cream! Thanks so much for the chance to win.

  492. Rachel Ramey says

How cool! I actually love that it’s “mini.” I’ve seen similar products before, but they’re so big that I think we’d have cream go to waste. 🙁 This is a good size to be sure to use it all at a sitting.

  493. Naomi says

Katie, this is AWESOME!!!!!! I also have memories as a kid involving that wonderous treat – ” spray cream “. 😀 I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your site and refer to it frequently for healthy, yummy recipes. My two newest favorites: Twix bars and Single Serve Coffee Cake ( GF adapted ).

  494. Aimee says

This is amazing. My son hates store bought whipped cream but loves moms homemade cream. The down side to home made is it doesn’t look fancy. I’d love to win so he can have the best of both worlds.

  503. Deborah says

Definitely putting this on my wish list if I don’t win it. Whipped cream is one of my favorite indulgences! I make your coconut whipped cream recipe as my standard.

  504. Annie says

Yum! I LOVE whipped cream! when I was little I loved Reddi Whip, but now I avoid it bc of how unhealthy it is :\
This recipe looks great – so much simpler and lighter than reg homemade, and lasts much longer too! Awesome!!! I’d love to win this ; )

  505. Nancy says

This would be so neat to have!! We love whipped cream and never have it on hand when someone wants it. Or, the Cool Whip is all hard and ugly. So, my family would really appreciate this and we would all have a ball after dinner with our desserts!!

Reminds me of my favorite icecream toppings at B & R – the whipped cream, choc fudge sauce and the cherry on top – sundaes made of these three ingredients alone would keep me happy……!

  510. Rachel Kirkendall says

This whipped cream looks & sounds great! I haven’t had it in so long ’cause of all the chemicals and other bad stuff…thanks again for giving me back something that I’ve missed!

I (like so many other commenters) had never known this whipped cream gadget existed, and now I just ~have~ to have one! ~fingers crossed~

  511. Ayesha A. says

Oh. My. God. I never knew this existed but now that I do… Oh yes, I can imagine the awesomeness of MAKING okay-for-your-health whipped cream… I LURV whipped cream!!! Have you even tasted the strawberry kind? Even though I generally don’t like strawberry anything (like strawberry ice cream and stuff) except for strawberry itself, strawberry whipped cream just ROCKED MY WORLD!!! Complete epicness which nothing can compare to… except chocolate and cream cheese. XD

  512. Lisa G says

We are totally gluten free and she makes some killer cupcakes already! We actually have to limit her baking to once a week because all 5 of us were getting a little thick around the middle.

  525. Linda says

I keep planning to try coconut cream whipped cream but haven’t got around to it. With this gadget, I’d have no excuse to delay it!

  526. Katie mcc says

I never even knew these existed. I love eating strawberries with whip cream and mini chocolate chips, but for someone who doesn’t eat dairy, I have not been able to find a whip cream that doesn’t contain dairy. I would love to win this, it would get so much use in my house.

  527. TJ Wiltz says

Um, yes, I would love love love one of these. I already follow you on Pinterest and pin your recipes all the time. I pinned your white chocolate chips this week. Yum, yum, and yum. Your recipes always make my mouth water! I definitely want to try this whipped cream out. My girls LOVE sweet stuff and I’m alway looking for healthier alternatives. Thanks!

  537. Lori says

Crate and Barrel is one of my favorite stores! I did Christmas shopping there this past Christmas. I love getting kitchen gifts. This year I asked for pestal and mortar. I got it! 🙂 This machine looks great. I’d love to try it out.

    Lori

  538. Merissa says

Katie, I love your blog, but your excessive use of coconut oil concerns me. Coconut oil is 100% saturated fat (the bad fat) you really should cut back and increase the amount of healthier unsaturated fats (specifically omega 3). The amount of saturated fat you must consume is going to give you atherosclerosis and a heart attack at a young age.

  539. Jasmine says

This device is a dream come true! I ADORE whipped cream from a can! Ever since going vegan, the only kind that I have been able to find is soyatoo, which I do not find to be a tasty or satisfying substitute at all. I have made your homemade coconut cool whip, which has been fantastic, but I have still missed the cream from the can. I can’t wait to hopefully try this!

  540. Juleigh Miller says

This would be a great birthday present to me if I won the day after my birthday! Or I could be nice and give it to my sister for her birthday on the 24th.

  549. Becca says

Love this!! We used to use the soy whip from sprouts, but it’s not our first choice and made a semi-lousy stand in for the real thing because those cans are more full of expectorant than product!

Thanks so much for all your recipes! I’m a newly wed, recent transplant to Dallas from Tennessee, and my husband is allergic to cow dairy (goat/sheep are ok). Your website has been a life saver, because I’m having to revise all my favorite desserts to be dairy free. The added bonus of healthier doesn’t hurt, either!

  550. paulette says

I too used to squirt the redi whip in my mouth….and now I’m a nutritionist. I should probably switch to squirting your coconut whip cream, which I absolutely LOVE!!!

  551. Natasha says

This is awesome! I don’t buy the canned stuff because it’s so unhealthy, but every time I make hot cocoa, I’m a little sad that I can pile it up with the good stuff!!

  552. Laura Miller says

Oh my yum! I would probably just squirt it into my mouth too. 😉

I never knew there was such a thing as a whipped cream machine! That’s super cool and I and the rest of my family would be eternally grateful for one!

I’ve missed air-compressed whip cream since I became vegan a long while back, so I’m sooooo happy you’ve made it possible for us vegans to enjoy it again!!!

Oh, I would very much like one of these contraptions! 🙂

    Hi Katie,
    Wow!
I’m new to vegan desserts – I’m vegetarian, but I’ve been considering going vegan for quite a while, but I always held back because, really, how can you live without eggs or butter or cream?
But this whipped cream looks amazing, so I’ve made up my mind to have a trial week of vegaism, and I have a feeling I’ll be spending a LOT of time on your website!

Anyway, I think it’s great that you’ve made creating yummy vegan desserts your career, and I’m also very grateful that there’s such a resource for people looking to reduce their intake of animal products.

Oh, please, let me win – and just 2 nights ago my hubby squirted the last of a Redi-Whip can in his mouth before tossing it in the garbage. He’s not vegan and I don’t buy that stuff, but it was leftover from when my sister and her family came over for Christmas… I’m in need of cool whip now to make some birthday cakes and NEED this to properly decorate the cakes with the HEALTHIEST EVER “cool whip”.

  614. Ilknur says

    Katie,
I discovered your blog a couple of months ago and started following you on the Facebook, too. Now I am also following you on Pinterest. I have tried several of your recipes and I loved them all! My son, who is two and a half years old, and I make your no bake mocha chocolate cookies at least once a week. Your recipe is amazing and we make it even healthier and more toddler friendly by substituting some of the ingredients, for example, chocolate chips with cocoa nibs, walnuts, or chia seeds, oat flour with coconut flour, and sugar with coconut sugar or honey. The results are always amazing! I just wanted to let you know that we love your recipes and that you have a toddler follower, too!

  615. Tracey says

My kids and I would absolutely love one of these. We can only get whipped cream out of the can when it is on sale. I make home made in a blender but the kids say “it is not the same“. This would solve the problem! Really cool!

  616. Liz says

I just followed and posted from VegSarasota (as the pinner). I’ve got lots of great vegan recipes there and am happy to include many of your treats there! And, i’m happy for the chance to win that whippee-do machine too! Thanks for all your great recipes, Katie!

I was (and am still) the same way with whip cream. I’ll have a sliver of pumpkin pie, and then slather on the cool whip to 5 times the height of the pie slice. I don’t know what it is about whipped cream, but it is the best! Thanks for a healthier version 🙂

  620. ladyjo says

Whipped cream is my favorite! I’ve liked it better than ice cream for years, so I can totally relate to your small scoop of ice cream, mountain of whipped cream!

  621. Shay says

I am going to get on of those awesome whipped cream makers right now!
    Hold on…
    Mom: NO!
Awww! C’mon! I just make the Cool Whip one I guess! (but I’m sure it’ll taste awesome!!)

  622. Laura Phillips says

COUNT ME IN!!!! My boyfriend and I have been doing a gf, vegan, sugar free cleanse and just about EVERY recipe I want to make links me back to your page!! I’ve had my eye on your blog for awhile now and have just recently made quite a few of the recipes, ALL OF THEM WERE AMAZING!!! Whipped cream was also one of my faves as a kid, and still is as an adult.. however, I have tried the coconut whipped cream and just cant seem to get it the right consistency.. I would be thrilled to have this mini whipped cream dispenser to help me out!! Katie, you are an inspiration AND a lifesaver! I am a firm believer that your blog will be what helps me (and I am sure has helped many others) stay vegan with an insane sweet tooth! I followed you on pinterest as soon as I found your board.. does that still count?? Repins are not a problem!

  623. Jennifer M says

I would LOVE a whipped cream maker! I also LOVE following you on Pinterest and just repinned more than 3 delicious looking recipes! I’ve got all my friends hooked on your stuff! Thanks Katie!

The whipped crime looks so tasty. I don’t like crust either but I think I’d just have the regular pumpkin, unpied.

  625. Tara Cohen says

This is so great!! I used to LOVE whipped cream and i would eat it straight out of the can too!! When I was 12 I found out I was allergic to wheat, dairy, eggs and peanuts (of course all of my favorite things). I usually buy the soy whipped cream from whole foods but this sounds SO MUCH BETTER!!! Thanks so much for posting SO MANY of my now favorite / go to recipes!!

  626. jbsprague says

Neat! I love kitchen tools, so I would love to own one of these Isi Mini Easy Whips. I just came across your website today. I LOVE making recipes healthier, so I’m sure that I’m going to like a lot of your recipes. I signed up for your emails. I love the snowball cookies/Mexican Wedding Cakes/Russian Teacakes cookies, so I was really pleased to see your version with whole wheat pastry flour. Can’t wait to try it. Thanks! Happy 2013!

You have some of the healthiest, yummiest, and fairly easy recipies that I’ve ever seen. So glad I found you. I can’t wait to try the Vitatop recipe you made. Those things are way too expensive, but make great snacks!

I talk about CCK treats so much that you’ve become a “household name” in our house… my mom always says, “You’ve got to comment and tell this girl that we love her!” But I know we’re just a few of your thousands of admirers. O:-) Literally, your recipes are one of my favorite things in my life right now. Thanks for your chocolatey-covered brilliance!

  635. renee says

I don’t know what it is about your site, but it’s like Alice in Wonderland… you just want to peak and before you know it you find yourself down the rabbit hole with 15 windows open of different recipes that you want to try! 🙂
Anyway, I stumbled upon your soy-free whipped cream (the one using agar). Can you use the Isi (or a similiar machine) to make non-coconut whipped cream? I tried (and failed) making a yogurt with water (I obviously need to go grocery shopping) version last night, but because it wasn’t thick enough it came out as foam rather than “whipped cream.” I’m guessing that if one could thicken up soy milk to a cream-like consistency the machine would spit out “whipped cream.” The only recipes I found using soy milk involve vegtable oil which kind of grosses me out. Thoughts?

  644. Homes says

Oh my goodness, this looks dangerous! But so much better than buying it – I’ve pretty much given up on store-bought whipped cream because of all the “extras” it comes with!

  645. Amanda says

Oooo, trying to do this would be so fun! I’ve been dairy free for so long now I can’t even remember what playing with these cans and whipped cream is like! This would be amazing!

  646. EMC says

Oh yeah… I’ve been eyeing these guys for *years*… Like you, I was totally into whipped cream, although rather partial to the homemade real stuff. I read about this thing years ago but felt like it was silly to purchase one when I had a stand mixer already to whip stuff. But boy would that be fun to play with… I’m thinking homemade hot chocolate topped with whipped coconut cream… Yum! So excited about this one. Also wanted to note that I think it’s incredibly gracious and generous to purchase a kitchen gadget for the sole purpose of giving it away. I mean, it’s a *kitchen gadget*! 🙂

  647. Lori says

I’ve been chasing the elusive vegan whipped cream treat for awhile now (since I can’t ever seem to get the Soy Whip canister to work). I would LOVE to win this!

  648. Dawn says

Oh my gosh….how did I never think of this. This is one of the things I miss from the States, now living in Australia. It helps make yummy cheesecakes, etc. And now I can make healthier versions! Thanks so much for this. I sooo need to get one of these! Cheers!

  649. Lizzie Richardson says

Hi Katie! I adore your blog I think you are incredible 🙂 I was just wondering, are your giveaways open to everyone world wide? Because I live in Australia and obviously it costs more to ship items to Australia than just around America. So I am eligible to enter your contests or is it just for those in the US? Either way I love your blog, so keep up the fantastic work!!
    🙂

  650. Cindy says

I just saw one of these in the store the other day and was wondering if it’d work for a dairy free option! Now I’ll have to buy one…or better yet, win one! 😉

I follow you on pinterest and just repinned the Twix Bar recipe. Thanks!

  651. Christina says

The whipped cream looks delicious! So do the yummies underneath. I have not tried vegan whipped cream but this post made my mouth water… I’m used to taking the heavy cream and beating and beating. I’ll try this recipe!

  652. Diann says

Thank you! One of my favorite things to eat is vanilla yogurt & crushed natures valley oat’s & honey granola bars mixed. I was diagnosed with celiac disease a couple years ago and am constantly looking for recipes I can eat and enjoy. Unfortunately most granola is not gluten free! BUT – thanks to you I have an option to make my own granola bars using your recipe and gluten free oats. I will definitely be back to see what else I can make.

    Thanks again! 

  653. Christine says

This recipe looks fantastic! I’m in the process of converting a family of 7, including 4 teenagers, to eating vegan! I started the project last October and it continues to be quite a challenge and anything that resembles “real” food according to them surely will be a hit! The whipped cream maker would be wonderful to top desserts, or as you said, just plain. Thanks for the amazing recipes you continue to dream up!

  654. Laura Smith says

Repinned, followed and YES, I not only want the whipping machine, I need it! Have been told I must eat differently to save my life and I am committed to finding healthy alternatives for me and my family (6 children). Thanks and God bless!

  655. Katelyn says

If this contest is still going on, I would love to enter still!! Followed you on pintrest and re-pinned two items. 🙂

  656. Diana Darling says

This is an awesome idea! And I love that you also ask for cooking items – birthday gift this year was a cast iron griddle/grill for pancakes and other goodies. Last year was a waffle
iron. Next I want an ice-cream maker so I can make my own coconut milk “ice cream”. And a cuisinart – I need one of my own. I could go on…

  657. Harmony says

I have followed you on Pinterest for awhile now, but have just recently started trying to create your dishes..oh my..so yummy..my favorite right now is the 1 minute mocha cake. Thanks for doing the “trial & error” in your kitchen, so we can enjoy yummy and healthy desserts in our kitchens:)

  658. Kristi says

I would LOVE to win this!!! My son is allergic to dairy and I haven’t had much success with making whipped cream out of the canned coconut milk. He’d be one happy kid!! I already follow you on Pinterest.

  659. mary says

this looks like something I would use All the time. I love creamy yummy treats and toppings.I’ m reallyreally glad to learn about it. thanks for giving away such a nice item while introducing it to us at the same time. And testing it to be sure it works with vegan creamy things!

  660. Lisa G says

so . . . I’m confused! I have never worked with coconut milk before. You recommend taking the cream off the top of 2 cans of coconut milk once they chill to make coconut whipped cream . . . but with the whipped cream machine, you said that if you’re using coconut cream you wouldn’t chill it first. Do you chill your coconut milk, remove the cream and then let it come to room temperature before putting it into your amazing, magic, whipped cream machine? Sorry to be confused!

  661. Olivia says

Not sure if you knew but it is easier to just make real whipped cream. With Sugar, Whipping Cream from the store always by the half and half, and maybe vanilla if you wish …mix… and whip with stand alone mixer or hand held mixer.

  662. Anonymous says

    Hi Katie, (or anyone else)
I have a question for all those other health nuts out there who may be trying to limit chemical exposure!
Are you at all worried about the Nitrous Oxide used to whip the cream? I don’t know how to look up how severe the biological effects would be in this quantity, but I do know there are problems in high dosages, so I’m slightly concerned and would like to know more.
    Thanks!

  663. Hollie Rollins says

I am confused, I have the cans of coconut milk and the same cream whipping machine pictured – do I chill the cans first?

  664. kate says

The ‘Easter Bunny’ brought me the mini easy whip and it works great! So glad you featured it. One question – my full fat coconut milk has a sort of strong or almost off flavor that I can’t cover up with vanilla. I am using Natural Value which has no stabilizer added, only coconut and water and nothing else. Suggestions? Love Love Love your site, use it all the time! 🙂

  665. Colleen says

Katie, I you are using the cream from coconut milk, aren’t you supposed to chill first so that it does “cream” on the top or do you just pour the can of coconut milk right in the machine?

  666. Becca says

I’ve been wanting one of those whipped cream makers since I saw them on Chopped. Good to know it works with coconut milk. It’s not cream of coconut (like you would find in the drink aisle), but coconut cream you need for this recipe. I know that is a mistake some of my friends would make.

  667. Jessica says

I am quite confused between two of your recipes. The vegan cool whip and this one the reddi-whip one. You use full fat coconut milk and scoop the thick layer off but in the vegan post it’s 25 calories a tbsp. In this reddi-whip recipe your basically doing the same thing scooping the hard layer off the coconut milk and whipping it up and you say it’s 6 calories for 1/3 cup. So.. i guess my question would be is 1.) Is coconut whipped cream healthy? 2.) What are the real calories lol because I would go crazy if it’s 6 calories for 1/3 cup and 3.) Does the saturated fat disappear? The can of coconut milk contains lots of saturated fats I know it’s healthy compared to cool whip but is too much of it bad?

  668. Rach says

I wanna try this but I’m allergic to coconut. I’m wondering if anyone knows how many calories are in the Mimicreme recipe?

  669. sandy says

Looks awesome. Just one question. The coconut cream from Trader Joe’s is very, very thick even at room temperature. How did you get it there canister?

    • Unofficial CCK Helper says

Stir the watery part from the bottom. Also you can add a tiny bit of water if needed.

  670. Kaytlynn says

I would love to win this…..having to go completely dairy free 3 years ago has restricted me from enjoying reddi wip, so this would be a dream come dream (sigh)

  671. Jocelyn says

Hi, Katie! My family loves the coconut cream version of this recipe.

I just bought the whipped cream dispenser you recommended. Have you actually tried coconut cream in the dispenser, or is the cream too thick? If you have tried it, how long do you recommend shaking the dispenser before removing the charger? Thank you for your help.

    • Unofficial CCK Helper says

Just leave the can out for a while. It will soften. I make coconut whip cream with coconut cream in the dispenser often.

  672. Kristy HV says

So would love to bless my 15 year old with this gadget since she loves whip topping from a can and I don’t buy it any more because of the other stuff in it. I didn’t know there were gadgets like this out there! Thanks for the info and recipe!

  673. Donna Mc says

This sounds delicious! My hubby’s Type II diabetes numbers have worsened and since he’s absolutely certain he can’t live without dessert, this would make a wonderful healthy substitute. I’m going to look for you on Pinterest!

  674. Carrie Lonsdale says

  675. Cathy says

I love your recipes!!! AND I totally forgot about those whipping gadgets! I live way out in the country so having one of those will help tremendously. I’ve been known to over beat my heavy cream and break it!!!
    Thanks so much, Cathy

  676. Coni Mans says

This recipe sounds great! I do not see anywhere to apply for the free give-a-away. I have always used my mixer to make whip cream,,does it matter with this recipe?

  677. debbi says

  678. Vera says

I do not have the whipping cream machine and was looking for your giveaway. Can you please tell me how to prepare it without the machine? Thanks, Vera

  679. Michela says

Hi Katie! I love this recipe, but I’m a little confused on the nutritional facts because the nutritional facts listed under this recipe are different than the coconut whip cream recipe, but they use the exact same ingredients. So, what are the true nutritional facts if I follow this recipe and use a mixer? Thanks!!

  680. Jennie says

Amy, I thought coconut “cream” was the same as coconut butter, manna, whatever you want to call it, which I’m sure you aren’t suggesting. I have never heard of canned “heavy cream”. I could use the cream at the top of 2 coconut milk cans, but for future reference, what is canned “heavy cream”?

  681. sherri says

    Hi Katie – fellow bakers!
Question – I want to decorate cupcakes and take to someone’s house. The cupcakes will be unrefrigerated for a few hours. I will be using the old fashioned way of preparing (stand mixer)and hope to pipe a swirl on each. Do you think the ‘frosting’ will hold up? Can I add a stabilizer?

  682. Tammy Alexander says

Definitely NEED this!! TY for sharing and letting us know how easy this makes our lives. Where do I purchase?

  683. Cindi Everett says

Delicious vanilla pudding! I used it to make peanut butter chocolate pie all sugar free, with an almond crust.

  684. Katherine Newman says

I’m a little confused. I love!!! your recipes! Is this post considered my entry in the contest for the whipped cream maker? Hope so 🙂 Thanks for letting us sweet treats peps have such healthy yummy treats.

  685. tanya says

hello I couldn’t find where you said the cream dispenser was from please can you share the link?
    best wishes

  686. Kim says

    HI Katie,

Is there a lower saturated version replacement to coconut cream for the whipping cream? Thanks! Love the whipping cream can!

  687. Stefanie says

I am struggling with this. The cream from coconut milk is very thick when I take it out of the refrigerator. I tried softening it up a bit before putting it in the iSi mini – but it won’t come out of the device…. not sure how to troubleshoot this. Do i try using another C02 cartridge?

The first time i tried this, it was so runny it was gross.

I’d love some extra tips on how to prepare this recipe successfully, using coconut milk & the iSi mini.

  688. Eileen Godfrey says

    Hey Katie!
I found a coconut “Reddi Whip” in the grocery store yesterday and it’s vegan! Thought you might be interested!
It will not let me post the photo, so I will give you the info. The brand is Gay Lea, the can says The Original Real Coconut Whipped Topping. There is a certified vegan symbol at the bottom. ? it’s yummmmmy

  689. Hillary Greenwald says

As a total whipped cream addict and huge CCK fan, I was super excited to try this recipe the second my whipped cream maker arrived. I tried multiple times but each time, the cream was too thick and wouldn’t whip. Do you have more details on how to use the cream? a lot of recipes I’ve seen say to separate the liquid from the cream, but this didn’t specify. Do you blend them together then put in the machine? Has anyone else had this issue or figured it out? Thank you!
